IPhone :: 3GS Has Dead Spots On The Left Side Of The Screen?
May 1, 2012Over the past couple of months, my iPhone 3GS has had dead spots on the left side of the screen, preventing me from using the r, d and x keys, the number 4 and the semi colon and comma keys.Just a note; I can't put my phone to sleep or turn off as my lock button isn't working, so I'm using the AssistiveTouch settings.

Dec 5, 2011as of today my phone has dead spots on the touch screen where it will not read my touch at all. and the other spaces that will react slower. is there anyway to resolve this without having to go back to verizon and getting it replaced....for the 5th time?

May 28, 2012My Xperia Mini Pro was fine, then one morning i woke up and the touch screen wasn't working correctly. It had massive dead spots which made things like flicking through the menus impossible, or selecting button that were in a certain place. The weird thing is I think these dead spots are random and change around. Also it would feel like was getting an input from other parts of the screen at the same time, like as if somelse was touching it too.
For example it would keep doing that overview of all your widgets randomly. The problem isn't as bad as it was originally, but is still very unusable. I did some service tests to give you an idea of what was going on. I tried the tests like 30 seconds after each other, and one had a clear dead spot and the other completely fine. It seems totally random. I've tried repairing it with PC Companion, everything is set to how it was when I bought it, and still that had no affect.
BB Storm 9500 :: Blank / Dead Screen
Jan 13, 2010I had a 9500 and I found sometimes when the screen turns black after 30 seconds, it could not be activated again with pressing screen or any bottom you could find on the phone. The screen looks black, but I could find back light is on, and I have software for screen image capture, these images I captured when screen failed showed me that all the functions are working, just the screen seems out of connection with the machine. I searched several times and I found it happens while using 9500, but there is no solution. It's not possible for me to return it back to carrier and I wonder if there is any technical analysis or solution on this. And another question, what would you do when typing letters on the edge of the screen?

Jun 19, 2015So I have an S5 and while using an app I noticed an extremely bright rectangular spot across the top part of the screen.I got the phone replaced and while using the replacement S5 found another rectangular bright spot and this time it was not quite as noticeable but it was bigger than the previous spot. I would explain the spot as an unnatural brighter hue compared to the rest of the screen.

I'm trying to force quit an app and it's located in this area. I tried turning it off and it won't drag to power off. This problem continued after plugging it into my computer. Should I restore it? Or will that just solve it for today.

BB Bold :: Black Spots On Screen Of 9700
Aug 26, 2010i have been using a Bold 9700 for the past 1.5 years, and it has not given me much trouble so far. Recently, I have having a few problems with the screen. All of a sudden, a small black patch appeared on the bottom left side of the screen.It seemed the pixels stopped working at that portion, leadig to a blackout. However, after a couple of days the screen was working fine again. It worked properly for a good 1-1.5 months. Now, the black spot re-appeared but this time on the top left side of the screen.

Dec 31, 2015I have a Lumia 1520 that I ordered from China a month ago from Ebay. It's still under the seller's 90-day warranty.I noticed recently two problems:
1) On a white/light background, there are a few brighter spots on the screen.
2) On a black/dark background, when I tap on the phone, there is colour distortion in a few specific areas. Those areas being 1/2 inch above the back button, and on the area of the screen that would be above the camera module. If I drop the phone from a height of a 1/2 inch of so onto a solid surface, these areas become especially pronounced.
I first noticed these problems after I put the "Kaleidio Dual Layer Armor Hybrid" case on the phone. Taking the case off improved the problems, but not completely.
Should I return the phone for a replacement? Or are these problems fairly standard with the Lumia 1520?I absolutely LOVE the Lumia 1520 with Windows 10 installed - it is exactly what I want from a smartphone.

Jun 2, 2012i bought Motorola Razr XT910 from local reseller. though i am very satisfied from this great handset but i have a manufacturing defects. i have black spots on my display in black background which only show up when watched closely in very dark environment ie in night. i obeserved them almost after 5 days of my purchase and are very rare in daliy use. i researched on web and it is a common poblem with this handset and others with amoled screen but my spot decresed and have changed there position. i am big motorola fan and i have used cellphones from different make and build which include iPhone HTC Hero etc and witnessed various issues and defects in each of them.

Nov 29, 2011I ordered a new Razr and noticed black spots and a perfectly straight black line on the screen when the screen is a certain shade of black. I noticed the spots while watching netflix and after taking a picture. I contacted VZW about it and they werent aware of any issues. I was concerned since I paid a lot for the phone I expect it to be better than that. So VZW sent me another new one without a problem. The second one had the same problem but more noticable. Also with both phones the screen would get really hot almost too hot to touch.

Jan 18, 2010Well I've been generally happy with my Storm, despite it lagging at every turn but I think I fried it today.
I was in the middle of receiving txt msgs and pins and trying to get the screen to switch from landscape to regular portrait and I got the little clock. This time it never went away, I pulled the battery and when it tried to boot back up, it would give a small message that I couldn't read because at that point the screen goes dark... and then it would try to reboot. I think it just overworked itself to death.
So I can't connect to my computer, I can't do anything with it. I 'technically' have water damage because since the phone was dropped in a bit of snow a few weeks back (but water never got into the phone, the phone worked fine!)... the water damage indicator is (all too conveniently) located right next to the edge of the battery cover.

May 12, 2010My phone has been getting worse and worse by the day. First the i had horrible battery life when i was on phone calls, it would only last 30 min tops with a full battery. Then i was listening to the sirius radio app for about 15 min and my storm had a random reset. At first i said oh no problem it will be back up soon. So i waited and waited and when it finaly came back up i had a dead battery with 2% left. I was like wtf happened. I had about 80% when it reset and it came back with 2%. So then i did a battery pull to see if the phone just had a little problem with booting up. When it came back it had 22% battery but it only lasted about a min before it decided to reboot again. This time it wouldnt come back on. It was an endless reboot going again and again. The only way to stop it was to plug it in the wall and charge it up again. Last night it did the same thing when i was on the internet for only 5 min.
I tried all the different hybrids and nothing works. I dont know what to do now. Is it the battery or is it the phone?

Jul 31, 2010I'm having problem with my storm phone ever since it was dropped in water. I left it to dry for a week. Since then I replaced my battery and the phone came on with the clock and then the screen showed up. and could not do anything. Then the screen went black. Now when I try to recharge it only a green light appears and nothing else. Did I kill my battery and is the phone no longer good or it's just my screen and i can replace it.

Feb 26, 2010I have had my Storm since it came out. I take great care of it, only update with official revs of the BB OS. I only have a few applications. I turned it on a few days ago and got a white screen that had a JVM error 102. Called VZ tech support and they told me I had a corrupt file in the OS and asked me to unistall and reinstall. I have done this 5 times and still I have a white screen that has reset on it. Even doing a cold boot, nothing changes.

Jul 19, 2010I have had an iphone 3G since Dec-2008 - obviously out of warranty now.Today, the bottom 20% of the screen or so went dead - it won't respond to touches, taps, slides, etc. The rest of the screen responds fine, but this portion is completely out of it.This is particularly problematic b/c it is all of the bar where my 4 favorite icons sit (SMS, Email, Web and Ipod). I did some googling and found the apple Article TS1827, but it didn't say what could be the cause, how to fix it, etc.
1) Any ideas what could be wrong?
2) I have a genius appointment later today, but what are the chances Apple actually fixes or replaces it?

Nokia :: 5800 - Dead Pixel On Screen
May 18, 2010I recently bought a 5800 and it has a dead pixel on the screen. I was really looking forward to getting this phone and I am now quite disappointed (and disgusted by the service I was offered here in Malta!). I returned it to the shop where I bought it and was told that I have to have at least 5 dead pixels for me to be able to change it. Is this true?
It is still under guarantee as it hasn't even been a month since the date of purchase. They tried to feed me so much bull (including: the laws do not apply for Malta and that i had to go back within the first seven days EVEN THOUGH it clearly says on the guarantee that I have a 30-day period from the date of purchase to take it back).

Jun 11, 2010Anyone have a CU515 or similar? I have a dead display and need to copy contacts from phone's memory to SIM. I have the manual so I know the menu selection is 8.5. I have tried these keystrokes with some variations with no luck.

BB Storm :: Screen Blank On Storm 9530?
Apr 8, 2011I have a Blackberry Storm 9530 that I bought on eBay. I accidently dropped my metal water bottle on the bottom half of the screen. Immediately there was a tiny crack that appears in the graphics of the screen, but nothing on the surface. Now anytime I try to get the screen to respond all that appears is that little crack. The LED is working, and I'm assuming that the phone is still functioning. I've tried pulling the battery two times now, but the screen isnt responding.
