IPhone :: How To Check That Whether It Is CDMA Or WCDMA
Jun 9, 2012
I am planning on making a purchase for which it is necessary to identify the model of my iPhone 4S, that is to say that I need to find out whether it is a CDMA or WCDMA model. Is there any possible way to check this information somewhere/somehow? If it helps, I bought and activated my phone in the United Kingdom.
So I have bought E72-1 (RM-530) and it works fine with my GSM card but it does not work with WCDMA card (no login to network). I am surprised because I was reading specs at the Nokia website and it does state that it works with all WCDMA bands.
I just bought this phone before couple of months ago and I love to listen radio over internet when I'm bycling. The network I have is same , my sim card is same but when I try to listen radio over internet , somehow it'll stop after 10 or 15 minutes, untill I'm clicking the play button again, why this happen I don't know, I tihink phone couldn't change the gsm protocol to wcdma protocol when it's choosed "gsm/wcdma preferred",is there any solution for this? only gsm is not enough due to data traffic rate and wcdma is also not available everywhere?
I have a 3G enabled SIM which works fine on galaxy fit.But in my xperia mini pro, when I select WCDMA the network disconnects and shows "emergency calls only".I have shown that to my service provider but he says thats the phones fault.I have also tried another 3G SIM from another provider in my phone but the problem persists. This is a HARDWARE problem, I got it rectified at SONY service center (free of cost!!!).They replaced the PCB( Printed Circuit Board).
Recently I switched from a CDMA service to GSM iPhone 4s using my same phone number. Facetime and iMessage will not activate. However, under Facetime settings where there is usually a phone number my email address is there (which is also my apple ID). So even though this is not activated someone can Facetime me using my email address. My phone was reset to factory settings twice and it didn't help. Apple Store tried to fix it to no avail and gave me a new phone. Once they loaded it back up, same issue. So we decided it was the carrier of the service. I checked with them and they are puzzled as well. We are thinking it has something to do with taking my existing phone number from CDMA to GSM and something happened.
My Sprint/Metro PCS HTC Diamond's touch screen all of a sudden stopped responding. If it had a keyboard like the PRO would've been no problem but NO KEYBOARD.Even though I did a PIM backup and had my old PRO handy and now connected I really want to see if I can get it back to life!!I opened it yesterday (thinking maybe it got loose and I could "just" connect it right) and could not get all the way to the screen so I decided to leave it alone, for now..Googled and all I got was GMS videos and stuff so I was wondering that maybe someone here has done it and could help me get to the screen and replace it...
I have a Verizon 8560 which had the internal screen go out. However, it says its only for GSM and not CDMA... that seems odd to me. Are there any overriding differences between the GSM and CDMA versions, or is this guy full of it?
I'm thinking about upgrading from a Pearl to a Tour (both cdma) so that when I'm traveling in the U.S. I can unlock it and use a tmobile or at&t sim it, to cut down on roaming costs. I'm confused as to how it works though. If I put a sim card in there does it completely negate the cdma portion of the phone...using the sim card provider's data/text messages/voice plan or is there a way to access both the cdma and sim card at the same time?
For example I'd like to use my cdma text package and data while using the voice/talk time portion on the sim. Is this possible? Sorry for the noobie confufflement
i have a vx5500pp that i'm trying to connect to cdma workshop 2.7. the program wont recognize the phone.i already have all the lg usb drivers. bitpim and lg downloader both work fine too.
I got Bitpim to recognize the serial and modem ports for Samsung as available but, when I try to goto file system with the serial port, it shows the folder icon as open but it doesn't do anything. I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.
I have an SCH-U440, also known as Gloss, from US Cellular. I have done some digging online, but CDMA codes seem hard to come by. Ideally, I would like to know how to edit the "sms mo so" setting so I could change it to 13k instead of 8k, as has been mentioned in various material I have found. Of course, I'm not sure if this is possible, but if it is not, is there some alternative?
Secondly, tonight, I managed to breach this phone's 70 or 72ish inbox limit by having lots and lots of picture messages. I got it up to 117 when I decided to delete all the messages and see if the new limit had been set, as was suggested to work for certain Samsung models on another site. This does not seem to be the case, as I am back at 72.
is fm radio impossible on the cdma htc touch pro 2? i saw a video on Internet of a t-mobile (gsm) user demonstrating the fm radio on their touch pro 2.
I have a CDMA Hero with Cellular South (a regional carrier in MS, AL & FL). They have been generally pretty slow to provide updates and currently have only released Android 2.1 for this device. I was hoping that they would eventually provide a 2.2 update, as I understand that this would allow some applications to be moved to the flash card. Right now, the limitations of being able to store applications on only the phone memory is fairly constraining and makes the decision of whether to install or not install an app pretty tough.
I have been recently told that Cellular South does not intend to update this phone to 2.2, so it will be stuck forever on 2.1 (unless I install a 3rd party update). why this phone would not be updated to 2.2. Has HTC just decided to not support it any longer? If so, I've bought my last HTC phone.
Does the phone work on cdma/3g without a sim installed? The phone says "A SIM card is needed to operate this phone" but is that just talking about lte? I'm planning on using this phone with a mvno that uses cdma but has no lte and I do not have a sim for the phone that is why i'm wondering.
i has planing to buy Nokia X3 Touch. i want to buy with gsm systems. But after i read in mikaon.com/nokia-x3-02-touch-and-type/nokia-x3-touch-and-type-data-sheet-2 the system running is WCDMA and GSM. Whether Nokia X3 Touch can run with both system ?
Recently I bought new Nokia 1506 and have install the PC Suite for it, but it only give me way to sync Contact and Calendar Items only.Is it possible to transfer more pictures and tones also to My Nokia CDMA 1506?I know, the phones has small and limited memory but I want to make more personalize with My own wallpaper and tone if possible.
I bought blackberry STORM 9530(RBW71CW) from INDIA with qualcomm 3G CDMA on it.However I am now in Yemen but it can not detect or see the CDMA network it can discover only GSM networks.also there is no option to chose network technology in the network options as mentioned in it's help . I wonder if this phone can not work on CDMA networks.
My laptop is Vista. It recognizes the Samsung as a modem but the CDMA workshop wont read neither does any program it seems it doesn't recognize it as a phone. I am trying to flash it to metro what do I need?
Daughter got scammed on a Craigslist Touch Pro CDMA Alltel. It won't boot, just says Touch Pro for a few seconds then buzzes and reboots. It will do it forever. If I understand correctly, there a boot loader, then a rom. To do a non-OEM rom, you need to unlock the bootloader.Figured out how to get into boot loader mode and successfully flashed with latest ROM from HTC. Not clear if I put a new one on or reflashed the same one. No improvement. Now it says RAPH800 SPL-0.40.0000 MicroP-Hermann (etc).
I can't unlock the loader. Tried Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037 and got an error 262. In fact I tried all the others, ReLocker, Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_025_MFG just for the heck of it with the same error.I'm assuming that if I can unlock it, then put MightyRom or something similar.Would there be some other issue? Like a hardware problem stoping a preboot hardware test? It won't power on to the SPL when the battery *isn't* in place, power supply on. Nor do the boot loop run with no battery. If it's in boot loader mode, you can pull the batter.
