Does the phone work on cdma/3g without a sim installed? The phone says "A SIM card is needed to operate this phone" but is that just talking about lte? I'm planning on using this phone with a mvno that uses cdma but has no lte and I do not have a sim for the phone that is why i'm wondering.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I switched from a CDMA service to GSM iPhone 4s using my same phone number. Facetime and iMessage will not activate. However, under Facetime settings where there is usually a phone number my email address is there (which is also my apple ID). So even though this is not activated someone can Facetime me using my email address. My phone was reset to factory settings twice and it didn't help. Apple Store tried to fix it to no avail and gave me a new phone. Once they loaded it back up, same issue. So we decided it was the carrier of the service. I checked with them and they are puzzled as well. We are thinking it has something to do with taking my existing phone number from CDMA to GSM and something happened.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI got Bitpim to recognize the serial and modem ports for Samsung as available but,when I try to goto file system with the serial port, it shows the folder icon as open but it doesn't do anything. I tried to use "Other CDMA Phone" for detection. If I try the Modem port, it says "Retrieving." like it's attempting to open it but, soon, it stops and is in the same spot as the serial port.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi installed the latest update 071.004 on e72, now text message doesn't work properly. i have to switch off and on once to recieve the msgs. most of the msgs i send will go n sit in outbox. i have to manually select each one and select send option in outbox to send them. Also found problems with bluetooth. send via bluetooth option doesn't work. it doesn't even search for the the devices available.I am also getting 'memory full-close some applications' error in messaging and also in the browsers.my phone has about 191Mb of free space and mem card(8gb) 5.6gb free.

After that, I did unlock the bootloader, turn it S-off and install GPE 4.4.4. As I was trying to figure out how to install the new 5.0.1, I ran into a website that told me to wipe system and data from recovery before installing the new stock android (because other tutorials did not work for me)! I read some comments that this worked for some people. Thus, I did that. From then, everything is not working, I have no OS, there is no devices shown on adb (the toolbar says that the device was not installed properly). Moreover, I did not backup my phone before. I tried a tutorial from wonder-how-to, but it is not working.. adb sideload is also not working.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed the Blackberry messenger on my Bold 9000. It's fully functional.I have 4 small icons now, indicating that I have new messages, but I can't find any new once.
Looking into this matter I found that in my Application Center, the BB Messenger is listed as "not installed" even though I installed it. Re-install also hasn't helped.i cannot delete it as "delete" is not listed in the menu. I'm also not able to see the application using teh Desktop Manager.
so my question are:
1) How can I find out what are the 4 icons indicating?
2) How can de-install my messenger now to just start from scratch?
I am using the HTC transfer tool and choose only messages, etc but somehow it installs all the apps too. I don't want to install all the apps in the old phone.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI installed the v20 firmware on my phone and found that it was acting up (froze, restarted on its own...sometimes it wouldnt ask for my security code) so i reinstalled the firmware (both times it was through NSU) and now i cant turn my phone on - lol? I tried the hard reset combo didnt work.. took out my battery 30 minutes/whole night and still nothing If i try to turn it out i just feel that vibration..and same when i try to hard reset.. Is Nokia care centre my only option?

Previously, Nokia Maps had started taking *forever* to get a fix (actually probably wasn't ever going to), and I insanely tried to 'improve' the application to Ovi maps when looking for a solution. It installs fine (twice), but will not load past about 30%. Hangs the entire phone. I removed a cities folder. No good. I can't find maps as an application to uninstall.
Context: Nokia software works pathetically badly on my Vista computer. Ovi fails repeatedly (grays out), software updater loads but has never worked, some Nokia software is slowing booting and closing of the computer etc. And the phone usually has to install drivers each time it is plugged in, despite this happening many times before.
Just wondering if there was any way to return the phone to the factory installed settings, I am having alot of issues and this seems to be the best way to fix them all at the same time.
