Jan 4, 2010I'm thinking about upgrading from a Pearl to a Tour (both cdma) so that when I'm traveling in the U.S. I can unlock it and use a tmobile or at&t sim it, to cut down on roaming costs. I'm confused as to how it works though. If I put a sim card in there does it completely negate the cdma portion of the phone...using the sim card provider's data/text messages/voice plan or is there a way to access both the cdma and sim card at the same time?
For example I'd like to use my cdma text package and data while using the voice/talk time portion on the sim. Is this possible? Sorry for the noobie confufflement

Jun 29, 2012I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.

1 select sd card in settings on the X10 then select unmount sd card.2 take out the card with the phone still switched on since I can't remove the battery there is no obvious way to depower it
3 put card in my pc's card reader and copy its contents to a folder on the pc (using copy and paste?), I have seen some mention of hidden files - is there any trick here?
4 put the new sd card in the pc and copy the stored contents onto it
5 put the card into the X10
6 what now - how do I get the x10 to accept the new card?

Aug 29, 2012I recieved my Xperia mini today and I have a problem with the SIM card slot. When I try to push the SIM card into the slot only about the first three millimeters go in and then it blocks, almost as if something was was already in there.I take it that the SIM should normaly just slip in to the slot with only slight resistance. Am I missing something or have i been unlucky and the slot has a defect?The SIM is in the correct position and the right way round.

Aug 30, 2011I have trouble with the phone recognizing my memory card - the card is SanDisk 16GB, class 10. I've lost the card I got with the phone, so I got this one. At first, it would say "Insert card", like it wasn't there, but the phone knew when I would remove it. A few times I'd get "Card damaged" message, the other times "Card is empty or not supported filesystem". 2 times I managed to get to work, but trying to take a picture crashed the camera app. I've tried formatting it several times. Right now, it's not reading the card at all. I can't check the card with my PC, since I don't have a card reader. It's getting really annoying, since I can't use the phone for almost anything. I've updated my phone to the latest software, but still nothing.

Dec 2, 2010Ok, so I still have the songs I had b4 I've downloaded the 2.1 OS; when I look into the X10 Mini, the "AVAILABLE ROOM" seems to have gotten bigger; but I also have many times in which the phone says: "no SD card found" or"no available storage" and such, regardless all my songs are there(not sure where!), and the "SD and storage" still shows the amount of memory like - Total room: 3.67GB and Available room: 3.11GB; considering I only had about 1.70GB left pryor to the 2.1 OS update!!!

Jul 3, 2010Bought my phone recently. Still trying to sort some issues. I too have the same symbol and if you drag the top nootification browser, it keeps on about inserting an sd card. Great! didn't get one with the phone but......there is a 2gb SD adapter that you should have had with the phone. Says it's standard but...ok...how do you use it? You may have one in the box too. I haven't a clue though used to using flash drives on my computer. This has me flummoxed. I put the adapter in the USB on home computer, recognises it, but it appears nowhere on the PC. I believe you still have to get a separate micro SD card to utilise the adapter!!! So.......why says its a 2gb when itt's clearly not??
Probably not helpful but you should have an adapter but you will still need a proper SD card as there is not one supplied. Stupid really as you can't get updates on it unless you have an SD Card and its greater capacity. Unfortunately, it's the policy of these companies to give you something...and then force you to buy essential extra's to utilise the potential of the phone! Cynical or what!
Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: Out Of The Box And The SD Card Doesn't Work
Feb 4, 2011I got my X10 Mini Pro ( 1.6 Android, Model U20a, Kernel 2.6.29 / Build 1.2.A.1.174 ) right out of the box today with a Class 2 4Gb card. Problem is, it recognizes the card is in, but can't read it. Right from the start, it smacks me with a SDHC card shaped error, and I get an error message saying the card is blank or in a format that is not recognizable by the device. I got a new card, Sandisk, also 4Gb and Class 4, and it also does not recognize the other card.Reading the card with a card reader, all data is perfectly preserved, and the new card, I formatted it, repartitioned, nothing works.Android asks to format the card, which I allowed on both cards. Nothing happens. I get the warning that it will delete all data, and acknowledge that, but the format seems to take absolutely no time. It just jumps from one screen to the next without aparently doing any work at all, or take any processing time, or any progress bar, which I would have expected.I tried updating the software to no avail. It won't connect to the PC unless the SDHC card is inserted and recognized. Nor it will allow me to download any update without a properly connected SDHC card. So, I'm stuck.When a card is removed or inserted, the phone acknowledges that the card was removed or inserted. Mount/Unmount is not available.
