IPhone :: Internet Randomly Drops From 4S Requiring Reboot
Apr 4, 2012
There are 4 people that I work with that updated to the IPhone 4S over the last few months. They are all reporting that they have had issues with their internet connection randomly dropping and iMessage not working (due to the internet being down). I thought it "sucked to be them".
I had a IPhone 4 that worked perfectly. I upgraded to the IPhone 4S (32gb) last week and now I'm having the same issue as the other people at work are having.
We all have iOS 5.1 and all on the AT&T network. Our phones say we have 4 or 5 bars of signal and "4G" internet (not really 4G, but that's another story). The only way you can tell something is wrong is that you can't browse the internet, you don't get any iMessages, no emails get synced and none of your internet dependent apps will work but the voice telephone and standard SMS work just fine.
If you try sending a SMS message to another IPhone user, it tries to send via iMessage and fails. It doesn't try to send via SMS.
In order to get your internet back up and working, you have to reboot your phone. This usually happens once or twice a day for me. Some of my co-workers have to reboot their phones up to 4 times a day.
I searched around google and found people with a similar problem, but it was related to iOS prior to 5.1 and/or having a SIM PIN set. All of us are on iOS 5.1 and don't have a SIM PIN.
One common demoninator is that we all upgraded from IPhone 4 to 4S and restored our IPhone 4 backups to our new IPhone 4S. Don't know if the issue is related.
my iphone 4 s keeps shutting down . ive reset my settings and restored my phone and everything . it worked for a day.. and then started doing it again...most times it freezes,,, and slowly goes black until its off, requiring me to reboot it ( home screen button, and lock button) it turns back on ..
and other times it just shuts off completely.. and illl reboot it again only for it to happen a few hours later...
Twice in the past week I got my phone out and it was off and unresponsive. I had to do soft boot with power volume down to get the phone working. This is something that I have not experienced with other android phones. I am on Verizon with stock Galaxy S6 running 5.0.2.
Is this a defective phone or some application causing problems. What steps can I take to troubleshoot the problem?
Having my phone randomly stop working is unacceptable as this is my primary line. I can't afford to miss calls. I need to get this fixed.
I have iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1.2 and I'm experiencing a Bluetooth issue with my 2013 BMW 3-series. iOS randomly drops the Bluetooth connection (Hands Free) to my BMW during a phone call. The phone call is not dropped, but it still goes on in the iPhone, but the Bluetooth connection simply drops.Â
I have updated the BMW Connected Driver to the latest version from URL.... and it does..I suspect the issue is at the iOS side, since I'd day that the iOS 7.1 update introduced it and I did not have the issue with iOS 7.0.Â
Yesterday, I updated my (European) LG G3 to Lollipop, but since, the bluetooth audio stream in my car (Nissan new Note) drops randomly in songs - it's just a very short drop, but still noticeable. Sometimes it happens several times in one song, sometimes not. I have disabled the experimental NuPlayer in the Developer's options, but to no avail. I have also deleted all bluetooth connections on my phone and in my car, repaired,
my calls started to cut off while i was talking.videos (in Internet), started crashing. only fix was to reload the page again, and then watch from the place wher the video crashed, but it could crash again. it happens randomly as well, no time limit, sometime i can see a 10min video with no worries, but then next video cuts down in every 2min.some other installed applications started crashing.ram reports tell me that the usage is around150-160mb, so 150mb is still free.there's also plenty of space in the phone and memory card.
I have the Blackberry Torch 9800 and for the last while my battery will constantly randomly drop to almost dead. If I remove the battery it usually goes back up and sometimes it's okay for the rest of the day or for a few days, while some days it does it 2-3 times every hour to the point it basically needs to be left plugged in.
I just recently bought a new BlackBerry Bold 9000, and this is the only BlackBerry I have ever owned. When I opened it it did not have a plan currently activated on it. I as able to access the internet through Wi-Fi, however the connection will randomly drop and then reconnect frequently.
Is there a known issues with the 950XL (or Win 10 in general) regarding wifi stability. My 950XL refuses to stay connected to the 5.0GHz wifi network. After reboot it will find and connect to the network fine, but after about 10 to 15 minutes the connection drops. When I go to the available wifi list, all the 5.0 GHz networks are missing and only the 2.4 GHz ones are offered. The only way I have found to get the phone to find the 5.0 GHz ones was forcing a reboot.
I have been using my iphone 5 since the last 9 months. The wifi just worked fine at home when connecting with the wifi router. It also worked fine everywhere I went where there was a wifi zone. Since the last 7 days or so I am facing a sudden problem. When connecting to my home Wifi, it shows full signal strength, yet the internet connection drops. At times, even whatsapp does not work, cannot send images most of the times. Apple store, iTunes and emails stops working mostly. I have reset my wireless router recenty and still this problem persists. There does not seem to be any problem with the router because other devices like my laptop and other mobile phones are working fine with wifi.
I can't keep a connection to the Internet. If I move from a 3G network to WiFi it's fine, but if I move from WiFi to 3G (when I'm leaving home), I lose Internet connectivity. The only way to reconnect is to do a soft reset
I rarely have problems with BBC radio (BBC Worldservice and Radio 4) via the Internet Radio app, but Danish radio drops out, usually after max. 2 minutes when on 3G. There doesn't seem to be a problem using WiFi. Could this be a bit rate problem? I have a totally stable 3.5G connection.
I bought a new Galaxy S6 (SM-G920F) few days ago. It starts to freeze and reboot randomly during the day (about 1 time for hour) without a reason. I tried to factory reset but in vain.
My new smartphone keeps rebooting ... Is it possible that through a system log I can get information about the problem?
I have had the Atrix for about two months now, and it seems to restart/reboot randomly, I thought I should check if anyone else has seen this? Should I take it back to the AT&T store and get a replacement or does anyone know the fix to this? Maybe the upcoming update will fix my issue...
On my brother's 9700, he's experienced two random shut downs. He's with Rogers and has the latest OS installed (.743). He would notice that sometimes the phone sort of shuts off by itself. Normally he would keep the phone on standby or lock, but when he'd go to unlock the phone, he'd notice that none of the keys work (screen remains black). Normally the screen would light up and say that the phone is locked, but this doesn't happen. Then, he would hold down the End key for a couple of seconds to power up the phone, only the phone doesn't boot up from scratch. Instead, the Rogers splash screen would appear and it would go directly to his home screen. The phone is only about a week old and is brand new (not refurbished). Is there some sort of lock/standby feature that I'm unaware of that his phone is going into? Has anyone else experienced this?
I was having some issues with my SD CARD (it had to be scanned for errors constantly) so I eventually took it out. About the same time the Phone started to randomly reboot itself over and over until I plugged it in. To be more clear it got stuck in a reboot cycle where it would start to boot and then shut off and then start to boot and then shut off. The only thing I could do to stop it would be to plug it in.
Steps taken: Took out SD Card Factory reset
Carrier: AT&T Windows Phone 8.1 update
When the battery is full or plugged in I can't reproduce the issue, but when it's lower then 60% or so, I can repro the issue by changing between apps or selecting airplane mode and then switching the wifi on. Basic multitasking appears to set it off.
I've had my Nexus 6 for 3+ months and have had no problems until today when my phone would randomly reboot. Sometime it would come back on quickly and other times it would go through the long process of optimizing apps. The phone has had 2 OTA software updates since I purchased it so I decided to do a factory data reset.
I have not experienced any random reboots since the factory data reset but now I am unable to connect to WiFi. When I click on the WiFi in the quick setting menu, the phone is unable to identify any available networks. When I click on More Settings, the screen says Turning WiFi on but nothing ever happens.
My iPhone 4 seems to just randomly lose connection. It will not use internet at all either wifi or AT&T internet until I completely restart my phone. I have to do this at least once or twice a day.
Because the iPhone 4 will record video in 720p, does that mean the videos will take up more space than usual? Right now I have an 8gb iPhone 3G with 1.5 gb free, but Im unsure if I should get the 16 or 32gb because of the video recording and possible other needs for extra storage.
My iPhone 6 will randomly lose internet connection on WiFi and LTE. No reason just loses connection. When it does it slows to a crawl. I have reloaded without back up and with back up.
It's ongoing and no reason for it. Battery life is reduced drastically as it seems it can't find a connection.
While answering a text, my phone started having a box around the button I was pushing.I had to double-tap each button to get it to enter.I can't scroll at all. What happened??
Why is Apple requiring my date of birth in order to download free apps to my iPhone?Apparently this is a recent change in their policy.Who came up with this stupid idea?Obviously Apple just wants to uee my DOB for marketing purposes (or even worse to sell it to other companies). If I would have known that Apple would require my personal information I would have gotten an Android phone instead.
My bold is only a few months old, just recently it started saying "no data connection is avalaible" despite having the 3G full bars icon. BUT if I do a battery pull the internet works for a while (hour or two?). After it "goes out" I have to do a battery pull to get it working again... quite annoying.
Anyone know whats up?? Everything else on the phone works fine. I am using tzones on tmobile (have tried both epc & internet2 apns to see if that was the problem)
I am new to viewing Emails and browsing the web on my mobile, and have recently subscribed to a pay monthly SIM. I set up access to my hotmail account via the mailbox in the messaging section of my N97 mini. Since then, my phone keeps randomly connecting to the internet ( or the icon on the screen appears to be connected). I deleted the hotmail account in my mailbox, but it is still connecting randomly. Prior to this problem, my phone connected to my home network if I was within range , or prompted me to connect to Orange GPRS if I was out of range.
I Have now deleted/disabled the Orange Gprs settings ( I assume I will have to phone Orange to send me new settings when I get this sorted?) ,and now when I restart my phone, away from home, it asks if I want to search for WLan, due to the fact it cannot connect to Orange. When I am at home it connects to my WiFi. It is though there is a process or app on my phone needing Internet access? Would any sort of reset delete all my settings, so I can start again? I have done a backup without backing up my settings in anticipation of doing so.
The 5530 is a nice little phone with nearly everything. Only disappoint is that when im browsing the internet, it would randomly shut the browser. Also i have 4GB memory card and lets say its 3GB full, and the phone lags. I've updated it to the latest firmware also.
I randomly lose internet access with but still have full use of certain app's like bbm and whatsapp & full signal (3G). For example if I restart my phone before I go to sleep, wake up the next morning, about an hour or so in to my day I will open the facebook or twitter app and my feed's wont refresh although I have perfectly fine network and my whatsapp & bbm work fine, the same problem is with the browser, I try search something and have no luck either.
I have recently updated to v50 firmware. I did first OTA, and then through Ovi Suite. I am experiencing several issues, the most severe of which is a substantially patchier internet connection. The internet connection worked well previously, but now it's a coin toss whether it will or not. This change coincided with the update. The auto-rotation has also become substantially slower. I have tried reinstalling the firmware, resetting the phone, rebooting, removing battery and SIM card, to no avail.
I am very happy for Nokia to be updating the firmware for a phone that came out a while ago, so this is just constructive criticism. I am overall happy with the phone, and all the improvements are very welcome. The main issue I had been experiencing was random crashing of the browser, and occasional random reboot from the phone.
Why are most downloads from the adroid market requiring wi-fi to dowload? The other day I tried to download an app that was less then 1mb and it kept telling me to use wifi becuase of the size of the file. Is there any way to change this?
I have a blackberry pearl 8120Lately, I lock phone, put in pocket and when I check later, Screen pops up where I have to re-enter my pin to get in, and the reception signal is SOS or something (in red writing)
