View 15 RepliesI got a new Maxx HD today and have it all set with a lot of apps disabled. I checked the system update and there's the small bug-fix update that was pushed out a couple of weeks ago ready to be downloaded. My question is should I enable the apps again and do the update or is it safe to do the update with the apps disabled?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am currently running the latest OS, 2.3.6, on my Razr. I have recently noticed that, after an app is updated, if I had it in a custom group in the app tray, it is removed after the update. At first I thought that this occured when I had to manually accept the update because of different permissions, but I noticed that any update will remove it. For an example, I know the latest updates to Blastr, Dvice, and the Discover mobile app were all removed from the groups.

I had never needed to do a battery pull (owned one since launch day) on my D3 until about 3-4 days ago (frozen, not responding to anything, including the power button). Now since then It has happened twice more. 2 times it happened using Gtalk (video chat), and once playing angry birds.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhy is Apple requiring my date of birth in order to download free apps to my iPhone?Apparently this is a recent change in their policy.Who came up with this stupid idea?Obviously Apple just wants to uee my DOB for marketing purposes (or even worse to sell it to other companies). If I would have known that Apple would require my personal information I would have gotten an Android phone instead.

Since the Market App was updated to ver. 3.1.5 on my htc Desire, that when I get a new message in the notification area that there are updates for any of my20 Apps and clicking on updates it goes straight into My apps but no updates are showing only installed apps so don't know what apps need to be updated, or if already updated it does not say what app was updated. On clicking on all my apps there is no ticks in any of the Automatic Update boxes! Before the update to ver. 3.1.5 you could see what apps needed to be updated and why and had a choice if you wanted it updated or not
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Atrix running original FW.I also have the lapdock and do like it but REALLY need RDP and VNC clients in order to do my job (linux engineer) better! If any of the updates come out with VNC and/or RDP apps (also ssh CLI would be GREAT!) which I was hoping might be in gingerbread count me in! I use the Atrix and webtop for WORK and right now I just use the lapdock enlarged phone view and run my ssh, vnc, and rdp apps as needed from anywhere I can get a cell or wi-fi signal but the resolution and screen size could be a LOT better. Is there any chance I might see SSH, VNC, and RDP apps added to the webdock any time soon?Is there any plans to add "SPICE" protocol support any time soon for DAAS? url..
Does Motorola have a SDK that I can suggest to developers of the SSH, VNC, and RDP apps I use so they can start developing for the lapdock?Having a full firefox and flash is great (firefox REALLY needs to be updated to v4 with canvas support though!) but just having that and the ICA client I never use is NOT enough! If I could just get AT LEAST a VNC client I could eliminate having to use a laptop completely and just use a VM on my cloud instead!I thought this phone was designed for cloud? It is still missing too many things for me to use it with DAAS (desktop as a service) cloud services!
After downloading app updates, I get the following message for every application that is trying to be updates:Error Couldn't install on USB storage or SD card
Phone: Droid 1
Vers: 2.2.3
Build: FRK76
Available Space: 5.98 GB
Int Phone Storage: 40.20MB
What can I do to get apps to update?
Why are most downloads from the adroid market requiring wi-fi to dowload? The other day I tried to download an app that was less then 1mb and it kept telling me to use wifi becuase of the size of the file. Is there any way to change this?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI noticed this last night, it may not be when it actually started though. When I am connected to WiFi my 3G icon disappears. If I turn off the WiFi my 3G pop backs on fairly quickly. This is how my Milestone X used to work and I noticed as soon as I got my Bionic that the 3G icon would stay on even when connected to WiFi even though it wasn't actually being used. Now sometimes at night it would disappear which I always attributed to the battery saver settings, but then today it is the same, which has never happened. When connected to WiFi the 3G icon is gone. I actually prefer it this way, and I'm not complaining, but I have not received any updates or anything so I don't know why this would have changed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor about the last two weeks I cannot check for updates. All I get is "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later".
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do a system update on my Bionic(Menu | Settings | About phone | System Updates)I receive a message saying Check for updates is not available at this time. This has been the situation since updating to .902.There were so many reported problems with .905 that I just decided not to update to that version but would like to try the new ICS.By the way, except for this glitch my Bionic has always worked well. How do I get System Updates to work?I've tried pulling the battery, the SD card and the SIM card per other discussions but that did not work.Don't really want to lose everything on my phone to do an update.
View 15 Replies View RelatedWhen did Moto update the native blur weather widget? Last time I looked at it, it kind of had the same theming as the toggle widgets. It looks pretty nice now. how often the widget updates? There is no option to change the update interval so I'm wondering how often it actually does this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI thought it was just part of the initial boot after upgrading to ICS, but my Bionic becomes almost unresponsive when the application updates commence. Doesn't really seem to matter how big of an update -- I can't pull down the status bar, task switching appears frozen, etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Bionic in September new from Verizon. I have not received a single system update since getting the phone and am still on version 5.5.886.XT875. Why am I not getting updates?
Currently, if I try to force an update, I get "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." I have been trying for the past 48 hours.
I've had my Droid Bionic since October 2011 and I have tried to run a system update once or twice a month but it never finds an update. It is always stuck on "Checking for available update. Please wait..." And the little loader circle is spinning. I've tried checking for updates on different Wifi networks and everyone is the same. I am still on 5.5.886.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHas there been any OTA updates since release?I bought mine the day of release from Costco and it is system version 5.5.886.XT875.Verizon.en.US.When ever I click on "System Updates", it brings up a dialog that says "Check for update is not available at this time.Try again later."Does this mean that there have been no updates, or that my updates are broken?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo, My contacts when joined for the first week or 2 worked like they should have and updated photos from facebook from everyone in my phone. Last few days... Slowly one by one it seems that ppl are starting to lose there photo and its not updating contact information with facebook anymore. Is there a glitch going on with fb and moto? View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm very happy with 4.4.4. I'm not a rom junkie tho I have rooted and rom'd a DNA. I just want my phone not to get lollipop.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor over 2 weeks now, everytime I check for a system update, I get the following message:
"Check for updates is not available at this time. Try again later."
There is no problem with my data connection when I am checking for updates.
I noticed that I was no longer seeing any updates for apps downloaded from the Amazon app store. To be clear, this is not the Android Market but the Amazon Appstore for Android. After the upgrade, I did have to login to the Amazon Appstore, but could use and download apps fine.I saw some posts in various places regarding people having trouble running apps they had download from the Amazon Appstore. They were told to delete and re-download the Appstore and login again. That didn't seem to have any effect for me.
I noticed that under my account in the Appstore, I had 3 devices registered with names close to 'Motorola Droid X'. I deregistered all of them and signed in again, from the phone, just to clean up all of those devices.Still no updates present when looking at the Update Available option from the Appstore. The last thing I did was go to the Amazon Appstore on the phone, select menu and My Apps, then press the Refresh Icon towards the top of the display. Then select the Update Available option (as I'd done many times previously) and the apps that I was expecting to have updates, all showed up.
motorola droid bionic won't let me check my system updates
View 10 Replies View RelatedAt first I thought this site was only for people looking for their $100 but reading the text carefully, you select your device and you will recieve either an e-mail letting you know when to expect JellyBean or information about getting your $100 credit. The Droid RAZR M is listed, so go ahead and sign up.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have not gotten any updates on several of my Motorola widgets since 1/18/12. I and not getting updates on my Social Networking, News, and Tips and Tricks. I've rebooted my phone, deleted the widgets and added them back, and nothing is working.
View 1 Replies View RelatedOn Bionic the Music app is just "Music". The Google cloud music app is "Music". Having apps with exactly the same name is problematic. (Voice commands and such) One had to go and only one could be uninstalled. A simple app update could possibly be an easy fix. At a Verizon store today I was checking out the RAZR. The OS music app on the RAZR is "My Music". Lost Confidence Bionic Will Get Timely Updates
View 1 Replies View Relatedso, yesterday afternoon, i factory reset my dx2. i suddenly started having issues while walking through setup. original ota gb, no hacks, no roots.i was able to successfully set up my google account, opt to skip verizon backup, & then it gives me a connectivity error w/ (3) options of "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". the setup skips the screen to set up my various 3rd party accounts such as Internet, facebook, yahoo, picasa, etc. when attempting to setup my accounts via "settings" afterward, it only lists (6) of the typical 12-15 options.this just started yesterday for me & did not occur on the previous 5 factory resets performed over the last week.
the error screen presented during setup after electing to skip backup assistant states something about "connectivity is required to complete setup", giving me (3) options. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". "retry" & "setup wifi" are still unsuccessful. selecting "skip" bypasses the ability to set up accounts.additionally, once on the home profile, "system update" states that a "motorola service account is required", giving me the same options as during setup. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". and trying to "add accounts" via "settings" only displays (6) available types, half of which give intermittent crazy errors about "problems with my clock on this device." or "timed out" & "your account may not be successfully setup".
I haven't been pushed updates 5.9.901 or 5.9.902 from Verizon. Is there anyway I can manually install these? I have tried going into settings and pulling them down but it says my phone is up to date even though I have 5.5.893 currently.
View 6 Replies View RelatedYou guys think it would be possible for forum members to get auto pushed updates once builds become official? This would be a massive perk to being a member of these forums.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen a new update gets sent to my Bionic, do I have the option to accept/delete it? This is my first new smart phone and I'm just trying to figure out if I have control over the update or not.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI live out in the boonies in Montana. I'm on an "Extended Network". They only way I can get my Razr Maxx to check for updates is to put it in Airplane mode, then turn on my wifi. Only then does the option to check for updates become available. If this is the only way I can check for an update, am I stuck waiting until either Verizon or Moto puts the update out for manual pulling of the update? I don't think it will get pushed to me while i'm on an extended network
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have 2 MAXXs in the family. On #1, I went into System updates and updated to 181. I keep trying to do this on #2 and keep getting the following: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." This happened on #2 before, but powering off reset it. This time I have tried powering off and on several times, but still cannot get the System update to work. The settings (wifi, etc.) are the same on #1 and #2. Any ideas to get the System update to work?
