So, My contacts when joined for the first week or 2 worked like they should have and updated photos from facebook from everyone in my phone. Last few days... Slowly one by one it seems that ppl are starting to lose there photo and its not updating contact information with facebook anymore. Is there a glitch going on with fb and moto? I know something similar happened with htc last year... Kind of hoping not with moto

How often the "My Gallery" updates does it? I mean I guess I'm noticing that after friends' have published their photos on facebook its almost taking 2hrs before "My Gallery" shows up. Some of my friends update takes almost half a day to show up and other friends show up pretty immediately....so very random. And believe me I've reformatted the Cell Phone and removed my Facebook acct and cleared app data/cache and sometimes it works but not all the time.
How can I remove just the "email account on My Gallery". After a reformat occurs you can set up your Facebook Account "Gallery" to syncronize to, of course, your cell phone within My Gallery. You can add/remove Facebook all you want but it seems the "My Gallery" option is greyed out; once you activate it I cannot find a way to dis engage it.
I got my Droid X back in December and the Facebook pictures for each contact haven't updated once since I got the phone. I've tried telling it to sync, but the pictures remain the same. Also, with some of my contacts it lists their Twitter name as their name, even if I type in a new name. Is there some way to set a default name? When I'm searching for someone to call/text, I don't normally think of them by their Twitter name, so it can make some people difficult to find. Other people come up by the names I set them to. Not sure what I did differently there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI was trying to link my mom's contact to her facebook profile, and so I added her full name-- Kathy Jones. However, my phone auto synced her to another facebook contact... Katie Jones. On her contact card, I added my mom's cell number and email address, neither of which is the same as Katie's. However, my phone autosynced it with Katie, adding in her phone number and email address to the contact card. AND, because it is a facebook contact, i'm told "facebook contact information is not editable on this device" It's not a dealbreaker, just annoying, as the wrong photo shows up when my mom calls, and I'm afraid that one day i'm going to accidentally select the wrong number/email address.Is there anyway to unlink these? I don't want to disable all facebook syncing, as i like being able to quickly access profiles of my other contacts, and have photos connected to them. I'm just looking for a way to manually tell my phone that these two people, despite having the same last name and similar first names are not, in fact, the same person.

I had an OG Droid and I loved the fact that everyone's pictures were just brought in. I have signed into the same account on Motorola's Facebook app as well as the Facebook for Android.

I am facing a very frustrating problem. Sometimes when I create/edit a contact and hit save, then search for that contact in my contacts I can't find it!! Or sometimes I can find it but with all the contact information deleted.I am using Verizon Backup assitant to manage my contacts. I wonder if anyone else have the same problem. That problem is not only frustrating, but also embarassing, especially when you are entering a new friend's contact while showing off your phone
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having gone a couple of months withs with Gingerbread without any problems to report I started experiencing a strange thing with incoming calls, texts, emails, etc.For incoming calls, the number displayed is the correct number but the screen pulls an incorrect name from my contacts list and displays a picture (taken from either LinkedIn or Facebook profiles) that is from a third, different contact.So the number is for Contact A and is the actual caller, the name that is displayed is contact B and the photo is contact c.If I go to make an outgoing call, the same thing in the inverse occurs.I choose Contact A and it dials contact A but displays it is calling contact B.This has caused me to have to double & triple check when I am making calls to ensure that it is calling the right contacts.
A similar thing happens for texts, incoming texts display the correct number from which they are originating but display that they are from a different contact name.When I go to send a text and enter a number it indicates that it is sending it to the correct phone number but with a different name assocaited with that number. Finally, something similar is happening in email messaging. If I hit reply, while the actual email address is correct the contact name that it lists is incorrect.
I noticed this last night, it may not be when it actually started though. When I am connected to WiFi my 3G icon disappears. If I turn off the WiFi my 3G pop backs on fairly quickly. This is how my Milestone X used to work and I noticed as soon as I got my Bionic that the 3G icon would stay on even when connected to WiFi even though it wasn't actually being used. Now sometimes at night it would disappear which I always attributed to the battery saver settings, but then today it is the same, which has never happened. When connected to WiFi the 3G icon is gone. I actually prefer it this way, and I'm not complaining, but I have not received any updates or anything so I don't know why this would have changed.

I've had my Droid Bionic since October 2011 and I have tried to run a system update once or twice a month but it never finds an update. It is always stuck on "Checking for available update. There is no problem with my data connection when I am checking for updates.
I noticed that I was no longer seeing any updates for apps downloaded from the Amazon app store. To be clear, this is not the Android Market but the Amazon Appstore for Android.After the upgrade, I did have to login to the Amazon Appstore, but could use and download apps fine.I saw some posts in various places regarding people having trouble running apps they had download from the Amazon Appstore. They were told to delete and re-download the Appstore and login again. That didn't seem to have any effect for me.
I noticed that under my account in the Appstore, I had 3 devices registered with names close to 'Motorola Droid X'. I deregistered all of them and signed in again, from the phone, just to clean up all of those devices.Still no updates present when looking at the Update Available option from the Appstore.The last thing I did was go to the Amazon Appstore on the phone, select menu and My Apps, then press the Refresh Icon towards the top of the display. Then select the Update Available option (as I'd done many times previously) and the apps that I was expecting to have updates, all showed up.

(Voice commands and such) One had to go and only one could be uninstalled. A simple app update could possibly be an easy fix. At a Verizon store today I was checking out the RAZR. View 1 Replies View Relatedso, yesterday afternoon, i factory reset my dx2. i suddenly started having issues while walking through setup. original ota gb, no hacks, no roots.i was able to successfully set up my google account, opt to skip verizon backup, & then it gives me a connectivity error w/ (3) options of "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". the setup skips the screen to set up my various 3rd party accounts such as Internet, facebook, yahoo, picasa, etc. when attempting to setup my accounts via "settings" afterward, it only lists (6) of the typical 12-15 options.this just started yesterday for me & did not occur on the previous 5 factory resets performed over the last week.
the error screen presented during setup after electing to skip backup assistant states something about "connectivity is required to complete setup", giving me (3) options. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". "retry" & "setup wifi" are still unsuccessful. selecting "skip" bypasses the ability to set up accounts.additionally, once on the home profile, "system update" states that a "motorola service account is required", giving me the same options as during setup. "retry", "setup wifi", & "skip". and trying to "add accounts" via "settings" only displays (6) available types, half of which give intermittent crazy errors about "problems with my clock on this device." or "timed out" & "your account may not be successfully setup".
I haven't been pushed updates 5.9.901 or 5.9.902 from Verizon. Is there anyway I can manually install these? I have tried going into settings and pulling them down but it says my phone is up to date even though I have 5.5.893 currently.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI live out in the boonies in Montana. I'm on an "Extended Network". They only way I can get my Razr Maxx to check for updates is to put it in Airplane mode, then turn on my wifi. Only then does the option to check for updates become available. If this is the only way I can check for an update, am I stuck waiting until either Verizon or Moto puts the update out for manual pulling of the update? I don't think it will get pushed to me while i'm on an extended network
