The 5530 is a nice little phone with nearly everything. Only disappoint is that when im browsing the internet, it would randomly shut the browser. Also i have 4GB memory card and lets say its 3GB full, and the phone lags. I've updated it to the latest firmware also.
When I updated my 5530 XpressMusic phone to V20.0.080 it began to shut down when I pick up the phone. It even shuts down when I dial a number and the other side picks up.The only possible way using my 5530 as phone is by enabling the loudspeaker. Are there any updates fixing that problem? Does anyone else have the same problem?
The internet browser doesnt work anymore. I tab or a bookmark or the internet and theres not even page that opens, I get a white or black screen and then It goes directly to the menu again.I reformated the phone it but still doesn't work.
I have had my nokia 5530 for over 5 and half months but then recently yesterday in the morning when i woke up my phone was ringing so when i answered it just switched off itself. It wasn't even getting switched on. So i charged it and after 1 minute it did switch on so i thought it was a battery problem but when i tried to call it switched off again. Now tomorrow I will go to Nokia Care but the problem is that my father had got the phone for me from Spain in September the time when it wasn't even launched here. So do guys think will they repair it for free or will i get charged for it?please reply.
Okay, I really don't know how to fix the following things because I already did a soft reset, a hard reset and finally re-installed the software. Re-installing the software helped for a week or two, but now these things are coming back again:
- My 5530 always fails checking for updates (it keeps searching endless). - Impossible to use Wi-Fi to check e-mail. - Applications are closing randomly (most of the times Ovi Store, Internet and Settings).
And something else: when I woke up this morning, my phone didn't want to start up, I tried turning it on and off, without success, so I removed the memory card and then he suddenly started again. After that, I turned my phone off to put the memory card back in and he worked again with the memory card. I just wonder what could be the reason for this.
My new n900 (updated with the latest firmware) powers off / shuts down randomly when running on battery power. I have to use the power button to turn it on again and wait for it to boot, showing the hand animation/boot screen. I can't locate the reason for this, is it hardware/software or purely battery related. It doesn't seem to happen when plugged in into the charger.
I've had my Nokia E5-00 since 11/25 and it's been giving me hell this past week. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but I tried changing the lock code so I could lock my phone, and right as I entered the default 12345 and then it asked me for a new code, I put in the new code and it restarted. I figured it was just the phone updating itself. Then, the phone began restarting randomly, and sometimes it restarts multiple times before it stays put for an hour or two... Only to start the process all over again. When it restarts, the Nokia logo doesn't have the holding-hands thing. The screen turns white, sometimes the Nokia in blue letters appears, but never the hand-holding.I know some people have had this problem with the E5-00 and I'm wondering what I can do. I tried updating the software - twice - and no dice.
I have a Nokia 5530 Express Music and I am asking: can I connect to the internet with my PC, using the phone's WiFi modem? The PC Suite only allows connecting to the internet through 3G. I would be very pleased if someone answers me. Thank you.Message Edited by hellsgrimtyrant on 02-Jan-2010 12:16 PM
i have a nokia 5530 expressmusic with firmware 20.0.080.i connect with it to the internet via wifi. typically, the first page loads fine. however the second page often fails to load, especially if it is not a very tiny website. clicking on a button does typically also fails. note that this also happens when browsing the ovi store, which should clearly be fully compatible with the nokia browser.
some examples:
for the ovi store, this typically means i can get to the page of recommended applications, but i cannot download one. when i'm lucky, i can get up to the place where i have to enter my account info.
for the site "webmail.telenet.be"
the site loads, i can enter my nickname and password and sometimes get a warning about the fact that it is a secure site and the question to remember my password. after which i get the error "no gateway reply".
directly after the previous error, i browse to www.wikipedia.org (the phone asks me gain to connect to the wifi network)
the site loads well. i type in the word "radar" and select the search function. the phone does something (as i can now select to stop loading the page" ), but i do not get to the next page. "no gateway reply"
i tried Internet (via the dedicated icon provided by nokia): same issue: first page loads, pressing the search button gets a no gateway reply.
in general, i get 3 cases:
- the phone keeps showing the progress bar for such a long time that in the end, i run out of patience
- i get the error "no gateway reply"
- the progress bar appears and after some time disappears again without any resulting action
i checked the following things:
- wifi connection: reception is optimal. other wifi equipment has no problems at all (laptops, logitech duet controller, etc). in addition, the first web page often loads well, showing that a working connection is present.
- i installed opera mini (via my computer :-) )to see whether the issue is browser related, but with opera, i experience similar problems.
- different days, different hours of the day: same issue
- acces ovi via link in the applications, via the mobile site or via the regular site: always problems
anyone an idea where things go wrong and how to solve this?
I got some problems with my 5530.When i try to get on to a web page or open the search bar at all, it just pops up and gets right out again. It worked fine before, got the question to use WLAN or WAP.But now i don't even get that question, I simply can't get into "Web" at all.I`ve tried everything.. Someone who maybe know the problem? Please let me know.
the 5530 is great for WiFi ... But ... after a while something (unspecified) is filling up C: (ie the phone) I cant select E: (ie memory card) for internet downloads. So the phone is now useless for WiFi.Cannot recommend, unless the "File Manager" has a relocate downloads function - which is certainly obscure, if it exists at all.Minor problem:mp3 files sent via bluetooth reside in "Messages" on C: and _cannot_ be moved to E:the music player finds them, but the File Manager fails (again).Could Nokia please hire some people with computer oop systems experience?
I bought a Nokia 5530 in Xtra Vision recently and I've been having minor problems.. First of all i was sending a message and the screen randomly went black and red lines came across the screen for a few seconds then it went back to my message .. Then I was charging it Good Friday and took it out to make a call and the screen went white as if I was turning the phone on as nokia came across the screen please help why is it doing this?
I have a Nokia 5530 since christmas with latest firmware update. My problem is that when i click into the Internet, the screen just flashes and automatically closes. I tried it with connecting to Ovi Store and the same thing happens. I am using my wireless modem to connect to the Internet and it has never once given me a problem, just today it started acting up. Another detail is when i use other applications such as Software Update or using Ovi maps, it will download easily, but just wont open web pages even though it is connected,
I've had the 5530 Xpress Music phone since the end of November 09 and It's already been back for a repair, phone is fine now.Since I've had the phone, I have never been able to access the internet from it, everytime I try I get this message which say's Packet Data not found. I have tried going into setting's and at the moment mine is set to:- Packet Date Connection is:- When needed and Access Point is:- None No mater what I set is on, I still can't access the internet.
While using the ENV3, at times it will shut it off by itself. I could be in the middle of a text message or just having the phone sitting on the couch next to me, but the next thing I know, the phone powers itself off. Does anyone else have this trouble??
My iPhone 3GS shuts down randomly everyday during use. Plenty of battery (more than 50% at the lowest). It just goes black. And there is a strange vertical banding in the black dead screen. Restarting begins working, apple logo appears, but after a long wait it just quits again and goes black. Again, there is plenty of battery charge, this can happen on a full charge. Have tried hard-restarting by pressing power and home with the same result. Only when I have plugged it into a power source does it boot. It can then be disconnected immediately and used for hours, or until it crashes again.
This often happens with angry birds (any version) but that's just because I play it too much, it can also happen using apple apps like mail
I purchased a new 16gb AT&T iPhone4s a few days ago and today when I went to use my phone I noticed it had turned off by itself. The only way I was able to power it back on was to hold the home and power buttons at the same time. I did a lot of research on the problem and saw that if the Diagnostics had a panic.plist that there are hardware errors or failures involved.
So I looked at my diagnostics and can confirm there are two logs with the panic.plist header. panic(cpu 0 caller 0x8007617c):lck_mtx)lock():mutex (0x9B5A2820): 0x000080000. The phone came preinstalled with OS 5.1.
So I am here to ask if this is a case where I have no choice but to replace my phone... From everything I've read it seems to be the case, but I've only had the phone for a few days and would be really upset if this were the case. I gave Apple a call and they said to basically not worry about it unless it happens again... but after doing the research it has just got me more worried.
My iPhone 4s randomly turns itself off during calls, text, and emails. It has never been dropped, gotten wet, or been exposed to extreme heat or cold, so I can't understand why all of a sudden this is happening. I bought it in October 2011, so it's not even a year old yet.
My iPhone 3GS randomly shuts down for no reason, and apparently I am not the only person having a problem with this. This happens regardless of how much battery life my phone shows, or whichever application I am using. I understand that cell phones are not built to last forever, but my phone is in to good of a condition to go out and purchase a new one.
I've had my iPhone 3GS since Feb. of 2010. The same phone since Feb. 2010 with no problems. I noticed my phone started shutting off around 20% in December. I didn't think of it as a big problem. Then it got worse and started shutting off around 35% in mid-January 2012. Then it started shutting off at 50% around early March. Now it's June 2012 and it's basically shutting off around 70-80%. Sometimes it shuts off around 87% when I try to play a phone game. It's gotten to the point where I can't use my phone outside at all because it'll just shut off. I've tried restoring the phone and that doesn't work. I've tried "X-ing" out comments I don't use. I've known other people with this problem who've tried restoring to factory settings and that didn't work. I don't want to waste my upgrade on the iPhone 4S when the iPhone 5 is coming soon. I don't know what to do.
Is there a battery replacement that I can get? I don't have money to cough up for another phone. I don't want to waste my contract upgrade for another phone. I want to wait until the iPhone 5 to upgrade. And I'm out of warranty now so Apple probably won't replace my phone.
I have noticed that my iphone randomly shuts off. It does not do it while I'm using it, but I can let it sit and go to use it and notice it has turned off. The only way I am able to turn it back on is by holding the home and lock buttons to perform a hard restart. This happens multiple times a day.
My blackberry bold that's a little over 5 months old Keeps randomly shutting off.. I looked at other peoples posts about theirs turning off and theirs manages to reset itself. Mine will just totally go black screen and that's it.. You can press all the buttons you want and try turn it on it wont do anything. You need to do a battery pull. And its getting worse, it does it about 6-15 times a day now.. Very very annoying cause the darn thing takes 5 miss to turn on! I notice it mostly does it most often whenever IM sending a a text, or browsing the web. Already reset the phone and nothing helped.
It has been a month since I bought my 9900. Lately I have noticed that it randomly shuts off. I think the problem is with the hardware because any slight taps on the back made it restart. Has any of you heard of this before?I really like my 9900, but this is just stupid. The phone is brand new. Is there any way I can exchange it (in seattle) for a new one, even though I bought back in Saudi Arabia?
My iPhone 4S screen shuts off randomly while I am using it. It only happens when I unlock the phone or open an app. The screen shuts off and stays off until I hit the home button, and then it comes back on but instead of showing the lock screen, it shows the animation of the app closing and going back to the home screen. I have restored my phone and that did not fix the problem. Any other ideas of what I could do to fix it, or should I take in in to an Apple store and have them check it out? It happens probably once or twice a week.
I have a new iPhone 4S that has developed the habit of shutting off randomly by itself. When I pick it up after it has been on standby for a while, the buttons are not responsive, then after a few more tries I get the apple logo, which I presume means the phone is resetting itself. It concerns me, since my family and I keep in touch via texting during the day, so if the phone has shut off, they can't reach me and I don't know that they are trying to.
I took it to the genius bar today, and they suggested I do a restore. My concern is that some of the games I have accumulated a lot of points in will be set back to zero. I have tried the regular reset procedure by holding down the button and swiping the 'shut off' option
I upgraded to the latest iOS, my phone started shutting off with 60% of battery remaining, and will not successfully boot up unless I plug it in. When I plug it in, the battery shows 60% or so remaining. I charge it fully, and situation repeats. If I'm using power hungry apps, I'm good for about twenty minutes. In stand-by mode, I'm good for about six hours before it goes dead.
I recharge fully every night. I tried restoring the software. No effect.
My iphone 3gs is unlocked and it shuts down randomly and I can only use it while its on the charger, is there a way to fix this without getting back locked?
HTC Explorer shuts down randomly during calls - once or twice a day - and it cannot be started until the battery is removed and inserted back into the phone.
