Jul 25, 2010I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?

I really like the white bumper on the black iPhone but I am not so sure about the black bumper on the white iphone. Was the bumper in place for something to fall back on if it went screw up?Bring the iphone out with a problem no one knew about.Fix it with a bumper but make a few quid if customer don't notice!If they do dish them out for free!I seriously do wonder thats what the bumper is for to fix the problem as friday if you toke that away we could of seen nothing more then on offer than a refund!

Jul 2, 2010I have been suffering from the "deathgrip" antenna problems with the iPhone 4 since day one. I thought the bumper accessory would fix my issue, I can confirm that it does nothing for me. Jul 13, 2010I just checked my bank account and it showed apple charged for my iPhone which is supposed to ship the 21st. But when I checked my order status my white bumper (ordered two days after the iPhone on a seperate order) had shipped and has tracking info but the iPhone isn't even prepared for shipping. Also they haven't charged me for the bumper.

Hey guys just got off the phone with a rep who was real nice. I explained to him I already bought a bumper for the signal issue and that anything they could do would be appreciated. I was put on hold and about 10 minutes later a supervisor came back on the phone and said that they would like to offer me a product from the apple store as compensation. He said that I would have to pick out something in the $75 price range, so I decided to pick the in ear headphones.
I think the biggest thing was that I was very polite and told them how much I have enjoyed the products over the years and that I was just a little annoyed with having to purchase a case to fix the issue.
Overall I'm really impressed and the people I talked to were great. I'll post my e-mail from Apple when I receive it as proof.EDIT: He also told me that another person would be calling either Monday or Tuesday to follow up on the issue.So yeah for those who didn't believe me here is proof.

Jun 24, 2010I got back from my local Apple store with a black bumper and not a single problem now with the reception like I was having. I'm going to call and log a trouble call with them because while I'm glad that I can help the issue now, I don't feel it's right that I had to buy this.
I'm hoping they'll do something by either sending one out at no charge or reimbursing me with my receipt, etc. Either way, I can now make a call again in my house with no issues.

Jul 23, 2010This is getting ridiculous. Now Apple basically got rid of all the bumper colors except for black. Black is the only color available for the "free case" program and no bumpers are for sale outside of that program. So I can't buy a different color even if I wanted to pay them $30 for it. They're effectively discontinued for now. I know they'll come back eventually (with the white iPhone) but for now it's "You can have any iPhone you want, as long as it's a black iPhone with a black bumper".

Jun 26, 2010I phoned apple care, told them I had the antenna issue. He said he has to transfer me to his supervisor if it's about that. When the supervisor answered he asked me in detail how it happens. He got me to do it while I was on the phone with him. He said the reason for this is that he has to forward all the details to the engineering department.
He then said that even though it's a hardware issue, the engineering department are working on a software fix for next week.He said in the mean time he will send me a free bumper. However, he then said I might get the software fix before I receive the bumper, Monday prehaps?Apple are on top of this, even though jobs thinks its not an issue- it's clearly become one.

IPhone :: All Of A Sudden All My (non Apple) Apps Fail To Open
Apr 28, 2012All of a sudden, all my (non Apple) apps fail to open.
dmesg shows "AppleFairplayTextCrypterSession::fairplayOpen() failed, error -42184".
This is "original iPhone 8GB with iOS 3.1.3".
Was running fine till last week I powered completely off and on again - a couple of times - right before the problem showed up.(I cycled power the first time because it was running so slowly. The second time because "No WiFi" showed up in "Settings". After the second reboot "WiFi" was back, but after that none of my non-Apple applications would launch.)
Anyone have any idea what the problem is?(It would seem to be DRM (digital rights management) related. But why all of a sudden? Has iOS 3.1.3 been completely "timed out"?) I am thinking to restore from backup - through iTunes. I don't really have the option to "re-install" all my apps from the AppStore. Because most of them have moved on to "iOS 4" only versions...and my old iPhone can only support iOS 3.1.3.

Dec 9, 2014Yesterday I changed my Apple ID Password. Since then when I try to make a FaceTime Audio call from my iPad or my iMac it get a Call Failed Using iPhone message. Â
My iPad sees my iPhone as far as using the Hotspot and FaceTime has my phone number listed as the one to use. Â

Jan 2, 2014So I finally updated to Black today and to my surprise the damn yellow tint is still present when using flash indoors.I did one shot before the update with Nokia Pro Cam, and on after the Black update and after updating to Nokia Camera.
They look nearly identical.

no flash after black [this looks most like the real thing] . Notice similar issue with the yellow tint not being fixed after updating to Black?Also forgot to mention, all setting were on auto, on the top two shots, on the no flash one, change from auto flash to no flash.

Does anyone have a nokia phone from years back with expess on covers? think the its the 3210 i had I lost the back and if you caught the little metal strip antenna with your hand it killed the signal and droped the call!

I happen to like the iPhone as it is- i don't want to hide a beautiful sculpture with a plastic cover.But Apple has offered me a bumper and I'm taking it. I justify it as I have a proximity sensor that still doesn't work, although a supposed fix is promised.
1) Is there going to be any market for these bumpers after everyone gets one? Will Apple take them back for credit (doubt it).
2) What bumper does one get if one really doesn't want a bumper- or one doesn't want to hide the iPhone? Even the Apple bumper hides the metal antenna, which I think is one of the coolest design features.

Jun 29, 2010I ordered a bumper the same day I ordered my IPHONE 4 and it arrived yesterday. I installed the bumper and it looked and performed well all though it will not fit into the IPHONE 4 dock or the universal dock with a 3rd generation IPOD dock adaptor.
When I left for work this morning I put the phone with the bumper in my horizontal belt case. Well the fit was extremely tight. When I tried to pull the phone out I almost had to rip the bumper to get it out. NOTE: the IPHONE 4 without the bumper and my 3G fit perfectly in the case. Once I got the phone out I saw that the case with the bumper fit was so tight that the phone was in the "Shut Down" mode meaning that the ON/OFF button was pressed continuously while in my case.
So needless to say the bumper came off. I am going to keep it at work to put on my IPHONE 4 when I have to travel using my work vehicle. The bumper because of the design will keep the phone from sliding around on the console while driving thus preventing the back to get scratched up like my IPHONE 3G did.

Jul 27, 2010Just an FYI for anyone still wondering on these ship times. My original order, placed the day they announced it, said it would not ship until the end of August. I just got an e-mail from Apple stating my order shipped, and will be delivered by August 3rd. Cool news, but I probably won't even use the thing as I don't appear to have any reception issues, and really like the look of the naked phone. The only real reason I'm thinking of using it, is to help protect the back a bit when setting it down on certain surfaces.
