Jul 1, 2010I'm thinking of selling my 3GS in order to upgrade to iPhone 4. The only hitch is, I don't want to get stuck without a phone in-between. know if there is a decent supply of devices for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores? I tried calling my local one tonight, but got left on hold. They were probably swamped due to iphone mania.

Apr 21, 2012The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?

Jul 25, 2010I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?

Jun 22, 2010From last year? I hope they bring it back this year, it's a good way of seeing if an Apple store near you has any iPhone stock or not, and states all the models too.

It's like 10 minutes away and I need to get a replacement iPhone 4 because mine has a yellow band that is ugly and won't go away.So how has stock been by you? Have you been able to get your phone replaced?
I know I can call, but they don't open for 2 hours and often don't have time to answer all the calls on busy weekends...

Jun 23, 2010So I am one of the unlucky few (or many) who did not reserve an iPhone for launch day. So I called my local Apple Store to ask about walk-ins. They said they'd have "some," and will have two lines, one for pre-orders and one for walk-ins. I wanted to get some more info on this since I will be sacrificing my whole day to stand in this line.
I asked them how long do you think they will take per customer, i.e if I get there at 7:30 am, am in the back of the line, how long will it take to get to the front? I know that is a hard question to answer, but he stated that they're now using iPod touches and some new software to make things smoother. He still wouldn't give me much of an answer though. I work nights, so if I have to wait more than 4 hours or so it might now be worth it if I have to work that night. Anyone have any ideas? Can you think back to the 3GS or 3G launch to remember how long the line was at Apple? I was at an AT&T store for the 3G launch and the lines were atrocious. At least 5 hours with 50 people or so ahead of me.

Specifically for myself, and I know many other MR-ites are interested to know how they look in person, in part to determine what color to select.
Anybody know what they've done in the past, like for the 3G launch, for example?

Jul 13, 2010I just checked my bank account and it showed apple charged for my iPhone which is supposed to ship the 21st. But when I checked my order status my white bumper (ordered two days after the iPhone on a seperate order) had shipped and has tracking info but the iPhone isn't even prepared for shipping. Also they haven't charged me for the bumper.

Jun 15, 2010So, I am based in UK and managed to "Reserve and collect" a 32gb iPhone 4g. However, on my confirmation e-mail, at the bottom, it says:
Pre-authorization does not guarantee iPhone availability at an Apple Retail Store. iPhone is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Your reservation is valid for pick-up only at the Apple Retail Store that you selected. If you do not collect your selected item on the specified date, your reservation will be cancelled and the item will be returned to stock.
My dilema is it's going to take me 2+ hours and lots of expense to get to the store on the 24th, the last thing I want to do is turn up at lunch time (about when i'd finally arrive) to find out they've sold mine / sold out.

I was put on hold and about 10 minutes later a supervisor came back on the phone and said that they would like to offer me a product from the apple store as compensation. He said that I would have to pick out something in the $75 price range, so I decided to pick the in ear headphones.
I think the biggest thing was that I was very polite and told them how much I have enjoyed the products over the years and that I was just a little annoyed with having to purchase a case to fix the issue.
Overall I'm really impressed and the people I talked to were great. I'll post my e-mail from Apple when I receive it as proof.EDIT: He also told me that another person would be calling either Monday or Tuesday to follow up on the issue.So yeah for those who didn't believe me here is proof.
