IPhone :: Set Policy Regarding Exchange Or Repair Of Non-Apple Products Bought In Apple Stores?
Apr 21, 2012
The story so far: I bought an accessory in Nov 2011 at an Apple Retail Store. (Philips dual-dock speaker) It started malfunctioning in Mar 2012. (Dock not charging anymore) I brought it to an Apple Store (closer to my place), they were happy to replace it on the spot, except that there was none in stock. So I was advised to go to an other Store (the original one), where they had stock. So far, so good for service. I went to the other store, but there I was told that they could not replace it because I had bought it more than 14 days before, so I had to contact the manufacturer directly! So my questions are:
- What is, if any, the actual policy on non-Apple product repair & replacement?
- Why don't all store follow the same policy?
- Should I just try my luck again with another person, until I strike gold and get it replaced?
My iPhone screen is darker towards the top and therefore I wanna exchange it, could I just take it to the Apple Store even though I bought it from ATT?
I need help clarifying return procedure. It late and I can't call ATT, hoping someone in similar situation could help me. I bought the phone from ATT in-store. I had it exchange from Apple, the replacement still have the reception problem along with new problems. Can I return the phone? It have a different serial number now and I still have my genius bar replacement confirmation paper.
Also this phone was an add in line, so if I return the phone does this mean I lose the number? I would like to keep this line. Just returning the phone until everything get better then I rebuy.
From my new Ipad 3 wi-fi/4G LTE I can only text to people who have an apple device! when I put in a phone number or a name from me contact list the send button is grayed out and the contact has a red "!" after it? I have no problems sending from my Iphone 4!
Info: iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi + 4G, iOS 5.1, can't text to non apple products?
Wouldn't it be something nice if you can turn your device on Without having it in your hand? You could turn it on from your computer, or if you have a iPod turn your phone, laptop and desktop on with it. Or what if you lost it, and someone picks it up and turns it off (iPod or iPhone) and the only way iCloud could find it is if its connected to the internet but it's not on.Maybe i have a bad idea, but i thought about it after losing my iPhone but not my iPod. i Would rather lose an iPod
If i went to an apple store, would they have an iphone 4 out to play with? i know they should, but the demand and such is so high for them, and to have multiple display models for every store would be a lot of off limit iphone 4's, so are they putting them on display, or do they wait until stock is steady to do so?
I'm just curious. Next week on the 24th, will AT&T or apple stores have IPhone 4G for people without preorders to snag if only a few devices? Sorry if the topic was already posted. I didn't see it upon my attempt to research it.
So, not being one of the people that actually got through on ATT&Ts or Apple's site on the big pre-order day, or not being one to camp out in front of my local Apple store overnight, I'm wondering just how often it will receive stock. I'm guessing that they will probably sell out the morning of the 24th. Do the Apple stores get to replenish their stock daily ...a couple times a week ... once a week?
I'm going to running some errands later today, and was thinking about stopping by local apple store. It's like 10 minutes away and I need to get a replacement iPhone 4 because mine has a yellow band that is ugly and won't go away.So how has stock been by you? Have you been able to get your phone replaced?
I know I can call, but they don't open for 2 hours and often don't have time to answer all the calls on busy weekends...
I went in to the Fair Oaks Apple Store in Fairfax, VA to get on the waiting list since I had heard that was faster than online and they had a bunch in stock. Bought my wife a 32GB iPhone 4. Took all of 10 minutes.
A year ago I bought a iPhone 4 from Apple direct as I had a Sony Orange monthly contrct phone that broke and Orange would not replace the phone for me. So I made my normal SIM into a micro SIM and have used my Orange SIM in my iPhone for a year. My contract with orange is now at the end of its term and I have bought a Iphone SIM only Tesco 12 month contract deal.
The SIM arrived but when I put it in it states that there is "No Service" - now this has confused me as I thought if I bought the phone direct from Apple it would be unlocked - I can not call Orange and get an unlock code as the phone they have registered for me to use is a Sony phone?
I have tried doing a factory restore with my phone and logging onto itunes but Tesco (o2) is not listed as a provider?
How do I unlock it?
I need to get it unlocked at a shop but don't they just hack into it or I need to Jailbreak it but again I thought if I do this I will have problems with updates etc with the phone?
I have a reservation for a 32gb 4, and have tried calling my store but it's either engaged or no one answers.Does anyone know whether Apple accepts cash for the iPhone 4 as I read somewhere about a woman wanting to pay for an iPad with cash but was refuesed.
So I am one of the unlucky few (or many) who did not reserve an iPhone for launch day. So I called my local Apple Store to ask about walk-ins. They said they'd have "some," and will have two lines, one for pre-orders and one for walk-ins. I wanted to get some more info on this since I will be sacrificing my whole day to stand in this line.
I asked them how long do you think they will take per customer, i.e if I get there at 7:30 am, am in the back of the line, how long will it take to get to the front? I know that is a hard question to answer, but he stated that they're now using iPod touches and some new software to make things smoother. He still wouldn't give me much of an answer though. I work nights, so if I have to wait more than 4 hours or so it might now be worth it if I have to work that night. Anyone have any ideas? Can you think back to the 3GS or 3G launch to remember how long the line was at Apple? I was at an AT&T store for the 3G launch and the lines were atrocious. At least 5 hours with 50 people or so ahead of me.
I am actually waiting on hold right now to talk with Apple at Lenox Square. I thought I would just ask to see if anybody knows if there are still walk-in available. Im kinda sure lenox does not but I want to know about tomorrow and Monday shipments.
Just wondering if anybody has had any luck later in the day. I have no problem waiting but would not mind getting one this weekend while i have time off work.
Has anyone been able to find any bumpers that are not black in any of the Apple stores in the NYC area? My phone is arriving sooner than expected (tomorrow) and I have no case for it. I'm hoping to pick up the Zagg Invisible shield and a bumper.Kind of want green or orange.
I had to change my email address and password via the ITunes store from my PC, but now I cannot download apps via the phones app store icon. It still has the original email address but everhing has changed and the original password or the new password doesnt work.
Like the thread title suggests, I'm wondering if you go into an Apple store next week to preorder, if they'll have demonstrator units available so customers can check them out before plunking down their orders. Specifically for myself, and I know many other MR-ites are interested to know how they look in person, in part to determine what color to select.
Anybody know what they've done in the past, like for the 3G launch, for example?
I'm thinking of selling my 3GS in order to upgrade to iPhone 4. The only hitch is, I don't want to get stuck without a phone in-between. know if there is a decent supply of devices for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores? I tried calling my local one tonight, but got left on hold. They were probably swamped due to iphone mania.
