Is anyone actually going to use their free case or are you going to list it on eBay as soon as you get it and use the money to get a REAL case whenever Contour decides to make their freaking Showcase case for the IP4?

Its a flaw at the end of the day and if apple admit to it will people find it that hard to give up there phone and apcept a free bumper? do we get free screws with the next purchase?
Does anyone have a nokia phone from years back with expess on covers? think the its the 3210 i had I lost the back and if you caught the little metal strip antenna with your hand it killed the signal and droped the call!

Will Apple have some sort of registration thing on their website next week where you sign up for one and they send it to you like they did with the power adapters a couple years back? Will I have to go to an Apple Store for it? Or can I just go to the Best Buy I got my phone at and pick one up?
View 8 Replies View RelatedInterested to see what the feeling is of people who will actually take Apple up on its offer, as someone who really doesn't experience the problem and have not had any dropped calls, etc, due to the "problem", and has already accumulated several cases ($.99 silicone cases from Ebay FTW), I really don't see the need to take apple up on its offer. Thoughts/Disagreements/Cheap shots?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI phoned apple care, told them I had the antenna issue. He said he has to transfer me to his supervisor if it's about that. When the supervisor answered he asked me in detail how it happens. He got me to do it while I was on the phone with him. He said the reason for this is that he has to forward all the details to the engineering department.
He then said that even though it's a hardware issue, the engineering department are working on a software fix for next week.He said in the mean time he will send me a free bumper. However, he then said I might get the software fix before I receive the bumper, Monday prehaps?Apple are on top of this, even though jobs thinks its not an issue- it's clearly become one.
Just want to see a breakdown of who is using a bumper, different case of going naked.

Do you guys think I'll have luck within the next couple of days if I check with the stores each morning? Ordering on Apple.com has a 5-7 day wait and I'm hoping not to have to wait that long, because I am having some antenna issues and I'm deathly afraid of dropping the thing.

just simply boil your bumper case in water for 3mins now put back your snug beautiful case on iphone 4 and enjoy.
EDIT: just a tip. if the case floats, thats the sign remove it.
I was listening to TWiT today and Leo mentioned that Sarah Lane got a white bumper case today and it looked more gray than white. Like it was a bit dirty. Does it get dirty every time you put it in your pocket? Is it more gray than white? You happy with the color choice overall?

My findings so far is that it gets far worse reception and dropped calls than my 3GS. In fact, living in miami where ATT signal is strong, I never had any problems with dropped calls on my 3GS. I also have the proximity sensor issue and am wondering if I just received a bad phone.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI went and got a bumper case from my local apple store overall i actually like it a lot but there is one really frustrating problem. The only usb / charger cable that seems to fit into the dock port with the bumper case on is the apple one. I have a couple aftermarket usb cables tha ti use to charge it (one at work and a couple at home and one in my car) they all have just a slightly larger head on them than the stock apple one and will not fit into the dock port with the bumper case on. so is there something out there that is similar to or better than the bumper case which will free up my dock connector?

when i get my phone i was thinking of getting a bumper but i don't want to get a rubber otterbox brick.
I made a purchase for a black bumper and paid $31.60 but when I go to the Apple.com website to check the status of my refund its shows "There is no record of a refund for the receipt number you entered." I tried entering my receipt number plus last 4 of card and I also tried just entering the full CC number as well and get that response for both.
Just wanting to know if anyone has possibly experienced before, wanted to to see if any Macforum members have had this issue and what was the resolution to your issue? Should I just call Apple? Are they giving refunds in store if you take in your receipt?
I will be getting the iPhone sometime as I need to save up a couple more weeks. So then I get no free bumper? I don't understand why apple is not giving free?

a few weeks ago i saw somebody who got a free bumber by complaining to apple. Supposedly it solves the problem. I went to the apple store and what they tell me is ridiculous. buy a bumper im NOT going to buy a piece of plastic that cost 60 cents to make in china. FU&K that. or Return the iphone. Thats out of the damn question i love the damn phone i spend hours waiting in line. So if anyone can help me find that free bumper people have been getting for the issue that would be great. I really like the white bumper on the black iPhone but I am not so sure about the black bumper on the white iphone. I just got an e-mail from Apple stating my order shipped, and will be delivered by August 3rd. Cool news, but I probably won't even use the thing as I don't appear to have any reception issues, and really like the look of the naked phone. The only real reason I'm thinking of using it, is to help protect the back a bit when setting it down on certain surfaces.
