Huawei Nexus 6P :: Stuck In Boot Loop After Flashing TWRP Recovery
Nov 7, 2015
So I flashed the latest firmware, after being unlocked, then rent back to bootloader, flashed recovery, went to recovery and installed file. Then restarted...now stuck in boot loop. It booted before I went to flash recovery in the new firmware just fine.
Do you need to flash something else when you flash recovery?
it says device is corrupt when I restart, but I was under the impression that screen comes up when bootloader is unlocked, so not sure if it means anything...

This morning while at work i decided to try another ROM while I had some time. I have been running VRtoxin with no issues as of this morning. I downloaded the latest pure nexus and proceeded to advance wipe everything but storage. I flashed the rom and dynamic gapps. The phone booted up and seemed to be fine until i tried to open a few of the apps i use on a regular basis. When i went to open facebook, hangouts, google plus and some others i would get a notification that unfortunately the app was stopped. I tried rebooting and reinstalling pure nexus and kept getting the same messages. I finally got sick of it and decided to flash my back up i made this morning of VRtoxin. That's when the boot loops started. I have since then mounted system, advance wiped all but storage and tried to flash both VR and pure nexus. Neither will get past boot loop. I have waited 15+ minutes for each.

I'm using G920I Australia version. I can successfully root using CF-Auto-Root.
But I can not get into TWRP recovery after I flashed that (tried both versions of the recovery) using odin. It stops at the first screen (samsung logo). I tried using adb commond reboot recovery and the hardware key (volum up+power+home), both of them do not let me in to the custom recovery.
I had tried enabled knox before flash TWRP, which made it into boot loop. And then recoveried using the official firmware. Now I can only get into the official recovery.
How to get into the TWRP? BTW, how to backup the pit file using adb? On previous models it was mmcblk0, but Galaxy S6 seems to have changed the memory map to sda1, sda2, etc.

I have never rooted my phone nor have I flashed a custom ROM before. I have a 32 GB HTC One M9 from Verizon on stock Lollipop Android, and it has been working perfectly until this morning. I woke up to my M9 stuck in a bootloop. It would boot to the HTC logo, stay there for about 10 sec, then go black and constantly restart again (even as I type this). I can access the bootloader, but it seems none of the options work for me! I can't boot to recovery mode or even power off my phone. It just constantly boots again by itself.

So my phone got stuck in the infamous bootloop. I am getting a new one shipped to me. I just don't know of my old one is backed up. I don't even think my contacts are. It has an SD card, but I don't think I ever set up a back up for it. Is there any way to back it up now? Sadly it won't stay on long enough to get passed the AT&T screen.

I have not used my phone in any wrong way. I did not install a custom rom or anything. no root. randomly in my every day normal usage of my phone, it started to restart. and the the problem got worse and worse. for a few minutes, i will be able to use my phone but then my phone will restart and be stuck restarting. most of the times I can't even go into recovery mode. It restarts again when i get to that. I already resetted my phone, and I wiped the partition.
I have a samsung galaxy s6 SM-G920W8 telus/koodo 32 gb. i got the battery replaced by samsung but that didnt work. i noticed that after a few hours, my phone stops restarting when it reaches to 10% battery life.

On Chainfire's thread there is a link to a boot image for the MDB08K build of our phones, but nothing else. I personally have build number MDB08L and when I tried rooting the phone and flashing TWRP, I became stuck in a bootloop that I was eventually able to recover from. That was using the stock boot image for the MDB08L build number from Google's site.
My question simply is, how can we root any version other than the MDB08K build because we don't have a modified boot image of any other build.

As the title states, I flashed the lastest Cataclysm (stable) and ElementalX kernel(also TWRP asked me that SuperSU wasn't present and to flash it so I did, that might've messed it up), phone booted up fine and set my fingerprint password and everything. I decided to reboot my phone and the phone encrypted itself and now the ROM is force closing and I can't do anything. It asks for a password every time the recovery starts up (I tried default_password, no go) and TWRP won't let me decrypt.
So my question is, is there a way to decrypt without erasing userdata? Would really like to keep my internal storage. I have lots of important pictures and files.

Having issue with TWRP not erasing/flashing roms properly..I have a dark theme installed Domination Theme with the extras (MMS, contacts, etc) and i did a very clean install, normally I go Wipe > Advanced and select all partitions and format it.After flashing another rom, I noticed some parts are still dark themed like the MMS, Google search bar, contacts, etc

My Nexus 5 device is unable to boot stock or recovery image. It's a locked bootloader, and stock ROM from my wireless carrier. I charged it with a 2 amp capable charger.
Symptoms: preceding the failure , there were strange slowdowns, apps crashing, and inability to charge the battery over the course of a day. When the battery finally died, that was the last I saw my Operating System. Now, when it's plugged in to power, it indicates full charge. If the power button is pressed it will show the Google logo, then cycle back to the battery charged icon. If the power button is held, the battery logo is skipped and Google logo displayed repeatedly. If the down volume button is pressed in addition to power, I get the screen where I can chose the recovery loader, but then the process of Google logo and reboots persist.
If nothing else, I'd like to grab built-in SD card memory contents and strip out a bitcoin key with about $40 on it that I didn't get to back up before it failed. What have I tried so far: basically everything above to generate those symptoms. I also tried opening the back, and pulling one of the top cover and unplugging the battery entirely. No effect.

Like others, I tried the software update, and then my phone constantly got stuck at the four little circles at start up. I followed some instructions I found on AndroidPit:
1. From a powered off state, press the Power button to start your Nexus 5. When you see the Google logo press and hold the Volume Down key and release when the device vibrates.
2. Use the volume keys to highlight Recovery Menu and press the Power button to select. This will bring you to a screen with an Android on its back.
3. Hold the Volume Up key for 5 secs then release and a new menu will appear.
4. First off, you can use the volume keys to select Wipe Cache Partition. This will cause your phone to restart. once this is done, re-do the previous steps to get back to the same screen (the one that Wipe Cache Partition was on).
5. Highlight Wipe Data/Factory Reset and select using the Power key. Scroll down to Yes, Delete All Data and press the Power button again to select.
6. Your Nexus 5 will now wipe your data and reformat.
7. On the next screen hit the Power button to select Reboot System Now.
It has been 40 minutes now and it's stuck on 'Formatting /data'. Is this normal?
I've only had this phone for a couple of months and it was functioning perfectly until now I haven't rooted it or anything.

So I updated to Marshmallow from Lollipop via fastboot on my Mac. Upon installing SuperSU and rebooting, I got stuck on the boot animation. Cache wipe and factory reset - still no go, and after the factory reset, I lost TWRP. I tried installing it again only to receive a black screen when rebooting into recovery mode. Tried another factory reset and reinstalled Marshmallow - same issue. I have contacted Google and there's nothing they can do.

So i got into twrp recovery and factory reset the phone . Flashed the necessary files but it still continued to bootloop. I formatted the internal storage and flashed Chroma Rom but the issue persists.

Are there any roms that allow you to update as though it was an OTA update? I had Blisspop on my oneplus one and it allowed me to do so, without the need to boot into recovery and flash the new image. I could just download and install the nightly updates thru the settings menu. I would love something like that for the Nexus 6P!

I'd just update d phone to lollipop few weeks ago. Ever since then, my phone became very slow n freeze very often. Sometimes it will automatically turned off on its own.
This morning, when I was reading mail n updating some apps, it freezes.
So I went fastboot n try to wipe cache. But it keeps failed to mount cache... Err... Ok. So try turned it off n leave it for a while. After bout 10mins, I try turn it back on, it stuck on d bootloop screen for an hour.

I have a Nexus 5 (Hammerhead) 32gb device, stock with no rooting. I mean, I had never done anything special on it ever.
1. Recently I started getting Google Play Store related problems, first 194 error and then couple of days back 495 (I think). After trying switching on/off, clearing cache and some other similar ways to fix this, I decided to do a factory reset
2. I backed up all my data, and followed the documented steps for factory reset. The phone got stuck on 'erasing'. After waiting for over 24 hours, I finally figured out that this 'erasing' is not going to complete, ever.
3. So I again did some research and figured that I should do a fastboot recovery. Tried that with no difference. Recovery again took me to 'erasing' screen.
4. Some more research and then I decided to flash a factory image using ADB. I was (and still am) a complete newbie, so first I figured out what was ADB and how to get to it. After completing the installation, I found out Nexus 5 factory images. There was no mention of which ones to chose, so I just picked up the latest one.
5. Having learnt my lessons, I read the flashing instructions many times and also watched some videos 3-4 times. Once I was confident that no more information was going to be had, and the phone was unlocked (fastboot oem unlock) I went ahead with the flashing. I did it step by step - bootloader, radio and they recovery image. The last one failed.
6. I did some more research and found a method which told me to unzip the last image and flash the component images one by one. I did. Success! However, the phone did not reboot by itself as the guide said it would. So I tried to boot it manually.
7. I did not get the dead android with red exclamation mark. Instead, I got an alive android with gears whirring on its tummy and back. Pressing power + vol-up button told me that this was the 'formatting /data' screen. I am unable to get past this screen. I am supposed to get to a screen where I can wipe data and cache etc. But I cannot get to it.
8. I have tried to wait it out (16 hours) and tried flashing the images again. Ultimately, I end up here.
9. I am unable to find any answers on what to do if stuck on this screen. So this is the end? Is my phone bricked? Is there anything else I can try? Will trying TWRP way useful or is that just another way to same failure?

I've been running Android M preview (3?) for a while on my Nexus 6.2 months ago my USB-connector of the phone broke and only because I also have a wireless charger I can continue to use my phone.Just now I tried a headphone and noticed that viper4android wasn't working, which it did a while ago.I still had the file viper_aio_fixes.zip in my download folder I used to get it going a long time ago. [URL]..
I booted into recovery, flashed that zip and did a reboot. Now it is stuck at the black screen with only the text "Google" and a padlock.I am able to boot into fastboot where I can go in the several modes including recovery mode (Team Win Recovery Project v2.8.5.0). I don't have any possibility to connect it to my computer using an USB. The device does still have warranty, but I can't miss my phone.

I recently got my 6P and immediately proceeded to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP to start loading custom roms. I decided to start use Pure Nexus with it's accompanying gapps package but when I go to reboot the device, I am stuck at the circles boot animation.
I decide to try CM13 nightlies and the same problem occurs. After searching online for some time, I realize I needed to flash a SuperSU file from recovery that flashes a custom boot.img. I flash Version 2.66 and restart the device. After 5+ minutes on the boot screen, I decided I am stuck still. What do I need to do, I am unable to boot the device.

My device:
Nexus 5 - hammerhead D821(H) 16GB
BL version - HHZ12h
BB version M8974A-2.0.50.2.26
Secure boot enabled
lock state unlocked
Today I got a "broken" nexus 5 that is in boot loop with the google logo and it wont boot into any .img
At the start i read the pinned posts and found this tutorial: [URL] ...
followed it step by step. but unfortunately it didnt work in my situation. there werent any errors or such kind. I also tried this tutorial with other images but nothing worked.
When i go to the recovery mode and press the power button the phone get into the google logo and i can see some sort of strange stripes in like a milisecond but then it just gets into the boot loop.
i really think ive tried everything accept for relocking the bootloader but cant imaging that this could be the problem.

I have an HTC One M9 (AT&T) which is stock and unrooted. Apparently a failed 5.1 update while traveling abroad has caused my phone to get stuck in recovery mode. Rebooting the phone or powering down simply brings the phone back to recovery. I am hoping there might be a way to update a stock ROM or force an OTA update without losing any of the internal data on the phone. Alternatively I was hoping I could pull the photos from the phone before wiping or returning the phone.
My only options on this screen are to: reboot system now; apply update from ADB; wipe data/factory reset; wipe cache partition; reboot to bootloader; power down; view recovery logs; apply from phone storage; apply from sd card
I have tried all options multiple times, but I have not tried a factory reset because all of my pictures from my trip are still on the internal memory of the phone.
Unfortunately I never enabled USB debugging before the device failure, so I believe my options with ADB and “pulling” the files are limited. Nonetheless, my phone won’t communicate effectively with my PC or laptop while in recovery mode, my PC and laptop only recognize that an Android device is connected while in bootloader or download mode.
I have been told by HTC that my only option is to download and update the ROM that is available on their website to the phone, but this will erase all data on my phone.
Is there any other possible option for me that can kick my phone out of recovery mode, or extract the photos from the internal storage? Is there a different ROM or OTA update I can use that will retain my data once installed?

Did the OTA update to 5.1 yesterday and apparently it failed. The phone went into recovery mode instead. No big deal, plugged it into the computer, started iTunes, did recovery/restore, and then.... it went back into recovery mode. Tried a hard reset, tried to restore/update again, same result. So basically, the phone updates, and then goes right back into recovery mode. I have tried some of the jaibreaking tools to get it out of recovery, but they are also unsuccessful. I've tried using iTunes to update it about 10 times now. still nothing.

iPhone 3GS, iOS 5.1
