No matter what I do I cannot see files over USB anymore! WEIRDEST thing I've seen in a long time... I can see FOLDERS no problem. Files act like they don't exist! I'm on PN, BTW...
View 2 RepliesThis is bizarre, everything was fine until this morning, not sure what's going on but the phone still comes up in Windows 8 file explorer, however as soon as I click the Internal Storage directory, file explorer stalls as the green progress bar slowly crawls along and eventually times out.
The phone says it's in MTP mode.
I looked at the driver supporting this phone for Windows 8 and it says it's from 2006. I found a link for installing thhe Google USB driver but there is no instructions for installing it in Windows 8, the phone not connecting to the computer in MTP mode which isn't an issue for me.
Rebooted the phone and tried again, no luck.
Having problem seeing the storage after plugging into PC? adb command works and device drivers installed. Found another forum where turning the usb from MTP to charging and back under developer options does the trick. I have a non stock ROM and seeing if fresh out of the box experiences the same thing.

The problem is I can't write to the SD card. i want to be able to copy/paste stuff from my 6P to this external SD card.
I saw this thread about Total Commander which has promise but I still can't copy/paste from one drive to another.
Ideally I just want the SD card to show up in a program like es file explorer or root explorer so it acts like the phone has an SD card.
I am not rooted. I can access my phone through Windows 10. But I cannot see all my folders. The 2 that I am having problems with are my Camera and Music folders. Some of the files are there. When I use ES File Explorer I can see and access them fine. Right now I cannot pull off any of the photos or videos I take. This all happened after upgrading to 6.0.1. I have tried 2 different cables and 2 different computers with the same results. I have made sure that USB Debugging is enabled. I also made sure that I had PTP and MTP enabled. Also upgraded to the latest 6P drivers for Windows 10.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to back up Titanium Backup folder from phone (nexus 6p) without luck, I have USB debugg in developing section of phone + MTP enable to transfer files, I could see the internal memory with all the goods but not my root files, when use root explorer I could see " Titanium Backup folder ", My concern if I need to wipe phone I want it to have back up, any other way to accomplish this ? I do have a back up in the cloud, would I be able to use cloud backup file if need to ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedDid a swap from a 64 GB 6P to a 128 GB and tried just doing a nandroid. That would've worked but the fingerprint reader wouldn't work without a factory reset. I also accidentally restores the old EFS in TWRP without knowing I shouldn't, but used the original EFS (did a backup on new device before transfer) and restored it back to what came the device.. So I did that and re-did everything and it seemed to have no problems at first. I downloaded some Google Music playlists, Viper4A + busybox, and at some point my phone stopped letting me modify the files.
Camera can't take pictures. Chrome can't download files. I can't add/remove files via PC. I can't modify files via file managers. I tried chmod 777 sdcard but it doesn't fix the problem. I tried reflashing the ROM and all, and did a complete wipe but restored the data (only) from TWRP - so the problem might be somewhere in there. I haven't changed anything from the setup I had on the 64 GB - it was working fine and then just stopped letting me do stuff.
I'll probably try a complete factory firmware restore then flash the ROM all over again, but wanted to see if there was a simple fix first.
I am using Windows 10. I have installed the latest Google USB drivers - downloaded and installed from here: [URL] ..... When I plug in, my device is detected, which proves that the drivers are installed.
1) When I touch the Photo Transfer option (PTP), I only get the DCIM and Pictures folder. If I open the DCIM folder, I see thumbnails of all my images. Some thumbnails show the actual image as well. However, when I open them, I get the following error: [URL] .....
2) When I touch the File Transfer option (MTP), I can open the DCIM folder, and I can see all the thumbnails, but I get the same error as above. [URL] .....
In short, I am unable to open any JPEG files created by my Nexus 6P camera on my laptop. I copied the JPEGs to my Desktop, and I tried to open the files, and surprise - I am STILL getting the SAME error!
The error is "Windows cannot find "". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
I am able to open TEXT files, and other audio files from my device. It's only the images I have this error with.
on my previous phone (Xperia Z2) I can plug in to my computer via USB and copy files to/from the internal storage or SD card. When I plug my Nexus 6P in to the computer the same way, I just get an empty folder. I can't see all the files on the internal Android file system. Is this normal?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem for a day or so now. I connect my lumia 920 to my PC (Windows 7 ultimate x64) the phone makes a connection sound and it shows up under My Computer. However when I go to browse the files on the 920 it is just empty. Also when I try and use the WindowsPhone app it boots up on the welcome screen as if it's the first time I'm connecting it and does nothing when I press the continue button...

I have copied several windows media files to my blackberry but the phone says that they are unsupported. These are my video files. Is there an application that can play windows media files on the blackberry. Or is there an application I can use to convert windows media files to the file compatible with blackberry?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden, when I plug my Xoom via USB into either of my computers (Win 7 x32 or Win 7 x64) the computer recognizes the Xoom, I can see the Internal Storage and the SD Card, but when I open either of these, I see no files. THe only directory that shows up on the Internal Storage is the Android directory.

When I connect the USB, my PC makes a noise like when a device has been connected and my phone says "connected as a media device" but I still can't see the folder. The phone is set to connect as Media Device (MTP), not a Camera (PTP).
I recently bricked my Nexus 5 after attempting to load one kernel over another (I know now that what I did was stupid) and I'm now stuck in a bootloop. I believe I'm running on 5.1.1 and have no custom recovery anymore.

I can see the files I want using "My Files" on the phone, but when I use Windows Explorer (Win10) with the phone connected over USB, the folders are empty. As the folder name suggests, they're phone messages (I assume so anyway) ! I now want to open these messages but cant find a way to do so! I have accessed my files (mainly movies) from another windows computer just fine. I just got a macbook air for christmas and i tried to access my movies through zumocast on my mac but none of the files showed up. The videos that do show up can be in any folder and they both show up in gallery and on windows.
