Nov 22, 2010I recently picked up an LG Optimus 7 (Telus) and have noticed that idle data usage is around 2-5MB per hour! (Determined under data usage after logging into [URL]This seems quite excessive to me - what exactly is being transferred? This even happens at night when I'm not getting any emails at all!Here is what I have linked on my phone:
1. 1 GMAIL address (IMAP with Calendar and Contacts Sync'd)
2. 1 Yahoo(Rogers) email address (IMAP)
3. The Weather Channel app that updates the weather in a tile
Is there anything I should check/tweak to reduce this?

Mar 24, 2010i find it weird that the device sells telling the market that N79 has a built-in GPS receiver (adding to the price of the device). but in order to use it, it would have to be bought separately. what's the point of selling a device that comes with a certain feature when that feature can't be used as is.?or am i mistaken and that it is actually free.

May 1, 2012I have just upgraded from a Nokia N8 to an S2 and have been alarmed at how much data I am using compared to my previous phone. My email application used 373mb of data in two days just synching two Hotmail accounts, and I don't get many emails! My Nokia was set to use push email every 15 minutes and hardly used any of my 1Gb allowance on Virgin mobile UK. I have had to set my S2 to never synch and do it manually instead, which is rather annoying upgrading to a phone which can't do what my older one did perfectly, I am using the S2 's own data usage tool to monitor my usage,I assume it is accurate?

Apr 11, 2015Well, here is my first complaint about the S6 (on AT&T). It sure is fast and I have little grief about lag (had some weird lag this morning), but I was disappointed when I finally checked my RAM usage. No 3rd party apps running and everything stock AT&T and Samsung (except TW) disabled. 373mb left. Just 12% of 3gb. This leftover was the usual on my S5 with more stuff running in background. On my S6, about 50mb is background stuff I've added.
It seems that Samsung only added ram and debloating for their own purposes. I'd be loathe to see what would have been leftover if they hadn't slimmed their features.

May 25, 2012My husband and I both have the iPhone 3GS. My husband's phone however will count on the phones data usage 20mb over night while it is charging and on our wifi. it is counting this towards his 3g usage and not wifi. We have already had APPLE reset everything at the store. it is still doing it. so he has to turn off all cellualar data usage at night or it keeps racking up the usage even though it is on our wifi. I plug my phone in at night as well and mine is not doing this

Galaxy S5 :: Can't Adjust Data Usage
Jun 3, 2015So I got my S5 in May. That same day We all set our data warning limit at 4 gig. We have 5 phones sharing 20 gig. The other day I decide to check my data usage and it shows 8.82!! And I notice my data usage screen is totally different from what it was. Its white background with a green graph. The dates are May 6 - june 3rd todays date and I can't change that date. There is no tab to adjust for data warnings. I've had several phones and pretty sure I'm getting to the correct screen settings data usage. I'm lost! Also checked US cellular web site for my usage and it shows 1.52 GB on my phone. All the phones together usage is at 11.4GB And 8.52 remaining. I thought maybe my phone was showing Total GB used on the phones but its not. I just called us Cellular they're gonna try to do a reset on their end I'll report back if that works.

Jul 26, 2015I have a aggravating problem that started about a month ago. My phone and battery are not communicating. I am running 5.0 It began one day, I thought I was getting great battery life. It turned out the indicator was stuck at 56% . Now it just stays at 100% . Battery life is normal, I can go all day. How much battery is left. When it's done it dies.
When I go to Battery in settings it says battery data not available. I am sure this is a software issue. Whether it is a app or the OS? After the factory reset I was very careful about what I installed. Recently installed Battery Dr. It stays at 100% as well.
Here is what I've tried.
1. Bought a new battery. This seemed to correct at first, but now both battery act the same.
2. Did a factory date reset. Again this seemed to be the fix. But the issue came back.
3. Wiped the data cache. No real change.

I also don't want to set mobile data limits, or have to monitor mobile data usage. Sep 30, 2011i am happy to join this forum with all of you,, i just got SGS II from 2 days i noticed that in the 1st day the battery was going well but after i installed some programs and games the battery drain become X2 than 1st day ( 1st day i was testing it and opening options and trying app. and it stay for 1 day and 5 hours approximately. but after installing the games and apps it still for 1 days and 6 hours but without using it as much as 1st day i tried to check the battery usage and i found that every thing is low and good but the display usage became over 76% no widget just 6 and the other pages have been removed all applications in background closed, brightness set on 30% approximately finally android v is 2.3.3.
i fully charged the battery since 2 hours ago and the battery now goes to 93% please i need help about that and i downloaded juice defender today to test it
Lumia 1020 :: Excessive Distortion In Photos
Sep 25, 2013Notice that the 1020 seem to have excessive distortion starting about 2/3 from the center? I am using my 1020 as a point and shoot replacement and it is great for anything but people. I think the live view we see on the screen when camera is on (regardless what app Pro Cam/ProShot/WP default) already has some extreme barrel correction applied to it. If my subject is about 2/3 from the center their faces start to stretch and distort like they have been pulled towards the edge of the view finder. Single person is fine but when you get 3 people in a shot, the center person would be fine but the left and right will have stretched faces. Coming from a 920, I find the distortion to be worse than the 920.
In some extreme cases of building shots, instead of having straight lines or slight rounding lines, the lines actually cave in. The only thing I can think of is to "undo" the correction in lightroom, but I don't see a lens profile for the 1020 yet.
Google Nexus 6 :: Excessive Battery Drain?
Mar 17, 2015is there an app that can read though all of the apps currently installed on the phone that can search for one that maybe causing battery drain? My battery seems to have gone sour lately and I don't know why. Esp today, I unplugged from my charge at 2pm and have done anything major with the device and I'm already below 50% in under 5 hours. I've spent 80% of my time on WiFi at my house. That to me seems unacceptable.
The two gaps there are I had to restart my phone for something and the second time was to clear cache partition. Currently running 5.1. Gonna do a reset to see if that fixes anything, I'd it doesn't I'm gonna try to get moto to replace and replace with a white device haha.

My question is how is that even possible, when after a full charge to 100%, my estimated usage time remaining is only 10 hours??
