since my iphone 4S have updated to 5.1.1, I now experience excessive battery consumption like 5% down in 1h (sleep mode). I have 2x iphone 4S and they have same behaviour. Never had that before with same hardware what could cause that ?If I go in flight mode (no 3G), the consumption is back to normal (low)

is there an app that can read though all of the apps currently installed on the phone that can search for one that maybe causing battery drain? My battery seems to have gone sour lately and I don't know why. Esp today, I unplugged from my charge at 2pm and have done anything major with the device and I'm already below 50% in under 5 hours. I've spent 80% of my time on WiFi at my house. That to me seems unacceptable.
The two gaps there are I had to restart my phone for something and the second time was to clear cache partition. Currently running 5.1. Gonna do a reset to see if that fixes anything, I'd it doesn't I'm gonna try to get moto to replace and replace with a white device haha.
I have a bit of a problem with my blackberry:
1. Annoying unread messages that won't go away
2. Excessive Heat when charging
3. Bulging Battery
Do you guys thinks that this warrants for a warranty exchange? Or is it ok for me to keep using it?
If you battery meter is showing that the Android OS is using large amounts of battery (mine was 43%) then all you have to do to fix it is connect the xperia play to a computer but instead of safely removing from the computer, you must pull the bar down from the top of the phone screen and press disconnect, then unplug the phone and the OS then returns to normal battery usage.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOver the past two weeks, I have observed that my MOTOACTV has twice entered a Failure Mode in which current drawn from the battery in Standby if far higher than spec and even higher than playing music through wired headsets only. The cause is unknown, but may be related to another MOTOACTV Failure Mode - music player freak out. In the first instance, I left the unit in Standby at 70% charge and found 14 hours later that it had turned itself off - battery depleted. I powered it up, charged it and was surprised during my run to find that my SF200 wired headset line switch was functional again - the music player had not responded to the SF200 line switch for several days.
In the second instance, late on Tuesday night Feb 28, I noticed that the state-of-charge of my battery was sliding rapidly and placed it on the charger. After my morning run the next day, I charged it fully and monitored the battery. The result is charted in the image below. According to published specifications, the MOTOACTV should last 325 hours on one full charge. I have conducted extensive battery tests on my unit and have never been able to achieve a Standby discharge rate much better than 0.71%/hr or 140 hours full discharge equivalent. The Standby battery life spec should be revised. As published, it is misleading at best. In Failure Mode - Excessive Battery Drain in Standby, I measured a Standby discharge rate of 6.73%/hr or just under 15 hours of battery life in Standby on a full charge.
I do not know why my unit enters this Failure Mode. But I know I am not alone. AlmariaTeach is probably replacing his unit right now to remedy what looks like the same issue. But his device could not be cured by rebooting or factory reset, so it may have been a more advanced case. In both instances, a power-off reboot restored 'normal' Standby power use behavior and revived a non-functioning music player line switch to perfect working order.

What is this Contacts which is consuming 60% of my battery. I was very happy with the batterly life before this problem.
I just got my new One M8 a few days ago and ran into some battery draining issue. After charging the device (second charge if to be precise), I went to sleep with 99% battery while all apps are closed, Wi-Fi is turned off and Battery Saver wasn't on. After 6.5~ hours, the battery was at 89%. In my opinion 10% drain overnight, during standby is a lot and that's why I'm a bit concerned.
Based on some recommendations, I installed GSam Battery Monitor, please see below results. It looks like Kernel and Android System consumes 36% which is a lot. How to decrease the consumption and what causes the Kernel and Android System to consume 36%?
On that matter, it seems like the GSam consumes 5.8%. When I close the app, does it stop monitoring and consuming power or it works in the background and keeps sucking the battery?
I know it's early in the game but how this new update is handling power consumption?

i bought a galaxy s2 2 days ago and was blown away with it's performance....however the phone's battery consumption is very high i charged it to 100% at 2 p.m and it was down to 23% by 9 p.m...the battery life shows dat the screen is consuming abt 50% of the total charge and it is on for only 2.5 hrs...other proccesses (phone os,wifi..etc) are using quite less....however when left the phone for the night the consumption was abt 1%(used battery meter app)..

I attached a picture showing my current phone, the iPhone 5, and as you can see, I don't use my phone very often - and when I do, it's mostly for gaming.
My current battery lasts for more than 2 days (although I just used it for 2 hours) and I'd like to know if the Moto X can handle that much. I have heard that the Moto X battery can't stand for a full day - even if you use it very little, is that true?
Had my HTC Desire for about a week now; brilliant phone Although the battery life is not poor (lasts about a day and a half/ two days with little use), when I check to see what is draining the battery, it seems to always be maps that is the culprit, even though I am now (knowingly) using the maps application or GPS etc.
I have done a little research and it seems that is could be the 'use wireless networks' option that is causing this so I have just now disabled this and will see how it goes. Any reasons as to why maps might be showing up as using the largest (if not, second largest) chunk of battery power?
I noticed a couple of days ago that my phones battery consumption has increased considerably, from lasting just over a day I now only get to mid-evening before it needs recharging. I have also noticed that the screen isn't turning itself off (if I press the power button once the screen does go off but often the screen does comes back on) and the password requirement isn't kicking in.
I have tried setting the screen timeout to 30 seconds and the need for a password to one minute but the phone is ignoring my setting change. I haven't installed a new app nor changed an app settings recently either. I have done a hard reset (to factory settings) but this has made no difference (I also noted that the hard reset didn't roll back any updates either - Is this right?).
The above screenshots reveal that my phone is rapidly losing battery at a rate of 7.3% per hour. This value is sometimes up to 8% per hour. I checked the storage of my 16gb iphone 4s, and found out that it has 5.8gb available and used 7.8gb , so that is just about 13.6gb where does other 2.4gb go? It is normal for an iphone to hide 2.4 gb memory for its own consumption? I think its kinda huge.

I have Iphone 3GS. Recently I have observed that 6~20 kb data transfer every 30 minutes ~ 1 hours time.
I have turned off notifications, no push mail and closed all tasks.

(Determined under data usage after logging into [URL]This seems quite excessive to me - what exactly is being transferred? This even happens at night when I'm not getting any emails at all!Here is what I have linked on my phone:
1. 1 GMAIL address (IMAP with Calendar and Contacts Sync'd)
2. 1 Yahoo(Rogers) email address (IMAP)
3. The Weather Channel app that updates the weather in a tile

Notice that the 1020 seem to have excessive distortion starting about 2/3 from the center? I am using my 1020 as a point and shoot replacement and it is great for anything but people. I think the live view we see on the screen when camera is on (regardless what app Pro Cam/ProShot/WP default) already has some extreme barrel correction applied to it. If my subject is about 2/3 from the center their faces start to stretch and distort like they have been pulled towards the edge of the view finder. Single person is fine but when you get 3 people in a shot, the center person would be fine but the left and right will have stretched faces. Coming from a 920, I find the distortion to be worse than the 920.
In some extreme cases of building shots, instead of having straight lines or slight rounding lines, the lines actually cave in. The only thing I can think of is to "undo" the correction in lightroom, but I don't see a lens profile for the 1020 yet.
