I bought SE Xperia Pro a few days ago, and everything on this phone is great except the battery life. It only last's one day max with min. usage. Main battery spender is display, with 59%, even with all options turned off, besides auto rotation. It rises by !% every day. I don't know if this is some software bug or else, current Android is 2.3.4 version. Would update on 4.0
The above screenshots reveal that my phone is rapidly losing battery at a rate of 7.3% per hour. This value is sometimes up to 8% per hour. The split is typically as shown in the first screenshot - "cell standby" and "phone idle" account for circa 50% of the loss.what I get with what I consider to be standby/idle (so not even "normal use") and with best (?) battery saving settings: WIFI - offGPS - offData - offRoaming - offDisplay Brightness - 0Power save mode - onJuice defender - installed and set to advancedThe only app I have installed apart from the usual "bloatware" is avast (as I prefer this over the pre-installed Mcafee)I also have GPU rendering forced to 2DI have max one background process runningWindow & transition animations - offAndroid version: 4.0.3Baseband version: 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-70Kernel version: 2.632.9-PERFBuild number: 4.1.A.0.562I have made only a single 2 minute call today, No SMS, No MMS and not used the internet nor played any games. The apps/processes running are shown on the above screenshots. Although I updated my phone using PC Companion to 4.0.3 (ICS), this has made no noticeable difference to battery life as I had the problem already before this. In fact I had hoped it might fix the problem! Apps such avast and juice defender also made no difference (good or bad) to battery life - the output I get from the screenshots are nearly always the same - 7 to 8% battery loss per hour.
I've tried battery recalibration (which I understand is achieved by using phone to 0%, taking out battery for 15 mins, replacing it and charging to 100% whilst off, then starting up phone). Again, nothing.I don't think I can get even "normal use" of 12 or so hours and the phone is most certainly NOT meeting the specified values:Talk time (up to): 7 hoursStandby time (up to): 440 hoursMusic listening time: 36 hours The above would be a dream! (I mean, standby 440 hours? That represents 440/24 = 18 days!
since my iphone 4S have updated to 5.1.1, I now experience excessive battery consumption like 5% down in 1h (sleep mode). I have 2x iphone 4S and they have same behaviour. Never had that before with same hardware what could cause that ?If I go in flight mode (no 3G), the consumption is back to normal (low)
I have a curve 9300 on OS6 I charged my phone up before I went to bed which was 10pm I woke up at 10am to find my phone off and fully discharged I know there is a flaw in the OS so I have heard, my husband has removed all but what is needed by the OS to run with desktop manager
I just got my new One M8 a few days ago and ran into some battery draining issue. After charging the device (second charge if to be precise), I went to sleep with 99% battery while all apps are closed, Wi-Fi is turned off and Battery Saver wasn't on. After 6.5~ hours, the battery was at 89%. In my opinion 10% drain overnight, during standby is a lot and that's why I'm a bit concerned.
Based on some recommendations, I installed GSam Battery Monitor, please see below results. It looks like Kernel and Android System consumes 36% which is a lot. How to decrease the consumption and what causes the Kernel and Android System to consume 36%?
On that matter, it seems like the GSam consumes 5.8%. When I close the app, does it stop monitoring and consuming power or it works in the background and keeps sucking the battery?
I've noticed in my battery consumption usage chart that the "Verizon caller name ID" consumption is about 13% even after I force stopped it and turned it off. I don't understand why it is still showing as using the battery as I turned it off already? But on top of that I cannot delete the app from my phone either.
i bought a galaxy s2 2 days ago and was blown away with it's performance....however the phone's battery consumption is very high i charged it to 100% at 2 p.m and it was down to 23% by 9 p.m...the battery life shows dat the screen is consuming abt 50% of the total charge and it is on for only 2.5 hrs...other proccesses (phone os,wifi..etc) are using quite less....however when left the phone for the night the consumption was abt 1%(used battery meter app)..
How does the Moto X handle the battery while in standby / inactive mode?
I attached a picture showing my current phone, the iPhone 5, and as you can see, I don't use my phone very often - and when I do, it's mostly for gaming.
My current battery lasts for more than 2 days (although I just used it for 2 hours) and I'd like to know if the Moto X can handle that much. I have heard that the Moto X battery can't stand for a full day - even if you use it very little, is that true?
Had my HTC Desire for about a week now; brilliant phone Although the battery life is not poor (lasts about a day and a half/ two days with little use), when I check to see what is draining the battery, it seems to always be maps that is the culprit, even though I am now (knowingly) using the maps application or GPS etc.
I have done a little research and it seems that is could be the 'use wireless networks' option that is causing this so I have just now disabled this and will see how it goes. Any reasons as to why maps might be showing up as using the largest (if not, second largest) chunk of battery power?
I noticed a couple of days ago that my phones battery consumption has increased considerably, from lasting just over a day I now only get to mid-evening before it needs recharging. I have also noticed that the screen isn't turning itself off (if I press the power button once the screen does go off but often the screen does comes back on) and the password requirement isn't kicking in.
I have tried setting the screen timeout to 30 seconds and the need for a password to one minute but the phone is ignoring my setting change. I haven't installed a new app nor changed an app settings recently either. I have done a hard reset (to factory settings) but this has made no difference (I also noted that the hard reset didn't roll back any updates either - Is this right?).
If you use your RAZR / RAZR MAXX for tethering, or as a hotspot, for connecting a WiFi-only tablet or laptop PC wirelessly to the Internet, how is it affecting your phone's battery power consumption?
I find very useful be working on my PC connected, via Bluetooth + Nokia PC Suite, with the nokia 2690, thus annotations in calendar and contacts are automatically synchronized in both sides. My question : working in this way, can cause a noticeable extra consumption of battery ?. Let us say I am making 5 to 10 annotations by day.
i;m using the default mail app to access my company MS exchange mail. After the .587 update i found out that this app is syncing too much. when ever my Ray is connected to a data service (2G, 3G, WiFi) is starts to sync lot of data. when i see the data usage it consums the majority share. like 800MB for every 1000MB used. and all the data comes as backgroud data. even if i restrict background data it does not stop syncing. is there any way to restrict the data usage as it consumes all the data provided and battery just for syncing. this forces me to turn off data service when i dont use my Ray. with the previous firmware my mobile used to be 24/7 connected to data sarvice and i had 16 hrs battery back up. now it last only for 3 - 4 hrs if i dont trun off the data service.
Just recently noticed that my data consumption was getting higher and higher, it started 2 days ago that now my e-mail app is consuming 1.65 GB of background activity and I have received a SMS from my data supplier that I have used 90% of my capacity for this month! Also this is draining up my battery like crazy , in less than 1 hour my battery went from 100 to 55 ... My cellphone model is SK17A. Could it be for the ICS update?
Messaging App(By Default app) showing an error while sending a message after salecting contact from my contact book. Error is " Message has no valid recipient".
I checked the storage of my 16gb iphone 4s, and found out that it has 5.8gb available and used 7.8gb , so that is just about 13.6gb where does other 2.4gb go? It is normal for an iphone to hide 2.4 gb memory for its own consumption? I think its kinda huge.
Saw this little nugget at BGR. RIM is busy, busy, busy! can't wait for these improvements, means more upgrades! BlackBerry OS 6.0 in the work Boy Genius Report
Usually work time of my Nokia between charging was 4-5 days. For two days I am really happy if it can keep power 1 day. Is there any known bug in software (I did update of Ovi Store and Opera mini) causing high power consumption or is it common that the battery die after 7-8 moths.
Having issues with no info being shown in the battery section. Example instead of saying for example 6 hours left of usage it just keeps saying still learning usage habit. It was showing before but I did a factory reset and for a day it's been like this. Previously it was giving me info out the box and even when I did a reset before I was getting data instantly.
I updated my Verizon S5 to Lollipop and WIFI is showing as turned on even though its not. I have everything unchecked in the advanced setting. Have this issue with the lollipop update?
