View 13 Replieshey guys my bold has rebooted at roughly the same time for 3 days in a row now. At around 6:10am (withing 2-3 mins each time) ive looked at my phone while driving to work and see that its rebooting...I bought the phone a few weeks ago and dont know if it has been going on the whole time but is there a fix or known explaination for this ?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI get the above error message when I try to change the alarm time and click on the clock icon. Could someone please tell me how to fix the problem? At the moment I can't change the alarm time or turn it off as I can't get into the application.
View 7 Replies View RelatedThere is one thing that drives me insane about my BB 9000 and that is when displaying the time it takes into count the time zone. When I travel my BB is also my clock. So when landing into an airport that is in a different time zone I have to take that into count. For example I live in CST, so landing into a EST city I have to go into my option and change the time zone from CST to EST. If I don't then I am am an hour slow.
Now I see there is an option in Options => Date/Time called "Date/Time Source". I have this selected to "Network". This doesn't seem to help. I do see that it updates based on the network but the time zone is still in effect. For example;
Time Zone: CST
Time: 2:30 PM
Network time: 3:30 PM
Is there a way to force the BB not to take into count time zone?
I've recently upgraded my Bold 9000 software device software from v4.6 to v5. Everything work excellent EXCEPT from the Clock-Alarm Sound !!. When my hand-held is Activated, it works according to my relative settings. The problem is when I've set a Clock-Alarm time and turned my handhold OFF. When the time comes, the handheld wakes-up (as it should normally do), displays the dialog form regarding the snooze or the alarm termination but there's NO SOUND AT ALL !!. I've searched the community for regarding problems and I've tried to apply to my handheld every potential suggestion like: 1). usage of a build-in simple sound 2). a sound file stored on my handheld's device memory and not onto an external card 3). battery correct physical enforcement 4) and of course, many-many baterry pool outs (for hard reset) !! Unfortunately nothing worked !! Because i use my handheld as my main (only) wake-up alarm in the morning, I tried to make the following test: 1). Selected the "No Sound" profile (I don't want an accidental call to wake me up after midnight..).....
View 19 Replies View RelatedI work out in the middle of nowhere quite often, where phone signal is either very weak, or non-existent. (I am with Orange BTW). The problem seems to be that when I have been out of signal range for a while, (shortest period so far about 30 mins), and I come back into range, my BB doesn't automatically pick the signal up. The only way that I know to re-gain the signal, is to turn the phone off (red button not battery re-boot!) and back on again. The phone then finds the signal and everything is normal again......that is until I go out of range again! Is there a shortcut to re capture the mobile signal rather than off/on?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just bought my Blackberry, plugged it into my computer and installed the desktop manager. I had many updates so I pressed okay and now it's in the process, but it has been on the 3rd task (out of 11) for quite a while, I'm not sure if it's supposed to take this long or if it's just frozen or messed up on my computer.

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhy can't RIM develop a Bold 9xxx with the body of the Bold 9000 with larger memory, Trackpad, better camera? They've done it with the Tour and Curve. Plus they've got all the parts available already, just need a little engineering to fit the trackpad and everything else. C'mon RIM. We know you can do it. I'm sure you'd sell millions of them.
View 14 Replies View RelatedQuick question. I am starting a new Job and they are getting me a superbasic Perl. I need this for work and so I will be forking some dough out of my pocket to get one of the two following phones: Bold 9000 (I'll pay 100$ Canadian, not Us) Curve 8530 (pay 24.99$ Canadian). I am very used to the Iphone and HTC Touch Pro 2 (not trying to start a flaming/argument/anything else , its just what i'm used to). I am very used to browsing with the other phones and I have heard that BB phones are not up to par, so my expectations will be low. Out of the two phones however, does one perform better than the other (Curve 8530 vs Bold 9000)? Out of the two phones, which one do you recommend overall. I have read that the Bold 9000 even though it is older, it still outperforms the 8530...
View 5 Replies View RelatedI dropped my BlackBerry Bold 9000 on the weekend and damaged the LCD screen. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI currently have a 5800 and am happy with it, but it is also a bit buggy - slow, hangs/freezes, sometimes restarts etc. I have the option of buying a new N97 for $200 and I'm really tempted to buy it and sell the 5800 (I originally wanted the N97 but couldn't afford it). I like the QWERTY and its homescreen but I keep hearing the ram is too small for its capabilities and that it's been very buggy. Can anyone tell me if it has improved with the updates and if I should get it, or just stick to the 5800?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a bold 9000 and I can not connect to the internet. Carrier is AT&T and I live in the North East (NYC area). Worked fine up until yesterday (Jan 25). Now gmail, facebook, browser - none work. I've tried the battery pull, turning on/off the network, run a diagnostic test from mobile network options. In the mobile network test i get the volling anomolies "Blackberry PIN-PIN: No" and it says can't connect to my email (gmail).
View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I first got my Storm 1 I was fairly pleased with it. Yes, it doesn't have wi-fi, nor a multi-touch screen. But it did work well. Since the 'updates' to the OS the functionality has been reduced:
1) The 'silence' button (top-right).Before the tinkering with the OS, it was possible to change the phone to vibrate whilst it was in the pouch.I found this feature very useful and was impressed with the excellent design.
2) The 'lock' button (top-left).Before the tinkering with the OS, pressing this button would actually properly lock the Storm. Now, well, it just locks the keypad and you no longer have to enter the PIN to get back into the phone.
3) SMS trails. Before the tinkering of the OS, the Storm didn't use the fancy display of SMS message.Granted, the new display is perhaps cleaner but how do you confirm that an SMS has been received by each recipient of an SMS sent to multiple people?
4) Turn off mobile connection.Ever since the most recent OS update (5.0.0841) the Storm occasionally chooses to turn itself back on after telling to turn the mobile connection off. This could, in certain circumstances attract attention, like on an aircraft or a secure work environment! Also, when I turn the phone off, I expect it to be off, and not disturbing my sleep, potentially making me liable for a CAA fine, or disciplinary action due to failure to comply with a 'Turn all mobiles off' instruction.
I know that I should be able to roll the installed OS back to a previous version (unless the update to the BB Desktop Manager software has removed that capability), but that is hardly the point. Things are supposed to get better with updates, not worse.in summary:
1) Silence Button.let users decide whether want it operate or not.
2) Lock Button.Again, let users decide if they want it to lock the keypad/screen or lock the phone securely.
3) SMS trails.allow us to check the receipt status for all recipients of a multi-recipient SMS.
4) Turn connection off.ensure that this feature works reliably.
Any improvements on Satio GPS? I so do not like the current GPS software!
View 1 Replies View RelatedKindly pass this information to the software developement team of Motorola
1. The labeling or the coloring option to the conversations in Text message inbox would be great option(if not labels at least having an option to create folders and tranferring messages to thefolders based on user interest---this option was available in Moto ROKR E6)
2. while searching messages in text inbox i observed that the search results or based on the content of the text mesage. It would be quite handy if search results include the name of the senderalso.
3. having a trash folder which saves the deleted messages(again Rokr E6 has it). this os becasue when people gets frustrated with lot of mssages in the inox they just press delete all so it would be great to have a trash box where they can retrieve important messages Via this option.
Anybody hav update to V21.0.102 for yr N97-1 ? any improvements on phone memory, bugs fixes ? hope u guys can share together ! T
View 9 Replies View RelatedI thought I'd start a thread so that we'd have something else to discuss as well besides the Froyo upgrade. What do you think Motorola should do to improve Motoblur on the phone? Or if you don't use Motoblur, which home replacement do you use instead and why? I don't use MB. I use Go Launcher instead. I don't think MB is bad. It's just a matter of personal preference really, mainly because I prefer to have 5 icons in the dockbar and an drawer that scrolls horizontally page by page (how do you find what you want quickly vertically?). The other customisation options - 4x5 homescreens, 5x5 app drawer that can be rearranged, transitions and skins - are also great too.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI've earlier posted two questions about the issues.Would also like to push for theese, for me, very important improvements in a future E72 software release:Improve the search, when dialing from stand by mode (home screen), to also include the "Save As" field from Outlook, or at least the company name. It works in the contacts screen and should of course work in the home screen.Evolve the categories in the calendar so that it can be used with Outlook categories fully. These two improvements would really add a lot of value for me and i think for a lot of other people who use the E72 for business.Would really be nice to here from someone at Nokia that "we are aware and working on a solution".
View 9 Replies View RelatedThis thread is dedicated to all satio users who have complaints and complements also this thread will list all the issues the satio has and what improvements you can make in the next satio update. the consumers who brought the satio for a hefty price of £400 thinking that this was going to be the ultimate device were sadly mistaken as the satio isn't even a device that you can say featurewise even fits into the mid range market for its price. I and all the satio users want to get the features that all high end smartphones have e.g kinetic scrolling, voice dialling etc. (btw don't tell us we cant get them even the low/mid range nokia 5800 has these features). also if you didnt know already there was a petition started by me on the 16th of July which now has 1570 people signed up to it. here is the petition link http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/satio-software-update.html here is the list that we all 1300 (probably more some people didn't sign the petition so about 4500) of us want you to fix the issues with the satio and give it the features that all high end phones have now a days. * Upgrade to symbian^3 (the x10 is getting android 2.1, also the Satio doesn't utilize symbian^1 properly; also this could help you compete against the nokia n8 which has a 12mp camera) ** HD recording (the x10 is getting HD recording why not the Satio it has the required cpu to handle HD recording, this would also help you compete agianst the nokia n8)
1) Kinetic scrolling throughout the whole UI
2) Give Vivaz home screen
3) Media search function in media player
4) Make phone louder (loudspeaker when receiving call, when playing music out loud)
5) Auto continuous focusing whilst recording
6) Better picture quality e.g. sharpness, less compression and faster camera menu
7) Auto change to full qwerty mode if you make you phone landscape from alphanumeric mode
8) Integrated EQ in media player (allowing you to manually set your EQ: up all SE's had this)
9) Fix the screen lag that some people have (screen tearing), this is due to the software
10) Fix clock problem (clock losing time)
11) Proper zoom in media (When you zoom the photo enlarges but does not fill the whole screen! why?)
12) Upgrade the web browser to V7
13) Add smart search to dialler (previous SE phones had it)
14) Improve microphone quality (video/sound recording is very quiet)
15) Ability to play HD films on phone; also divx/xvid support
16) RDS in radio.
17) Change volume level and tracks whilst the phone is locked.i hope you will consider all of these for the next update or otherwise me and the other 4500 (which totals to 4500* £400 = £1,800,000) people who brought the satio will move to another manufacturer (nokia, htc, apple) also anyone feel free to comment
Is there a website to which you can point me to tell me what the icons are all about that appear on my screen from time to time. Latest one ;ooks like a click with a red asterix at about where the 1 would be and has a 2 to the left of the icon. A website to consult would be great.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering. As it turns out that the 9700 and 9000 share the same type of battery, so how is it that the bold has a far superior battery life over the 9000? Some have reported that the 9700 can hold charge upto 2 days even after heavy usage. So i was wondering are the batteries really identical in every way as claimed? and if they arent is it possible to swap the battery of my 9000 and expect a longer battery life? coz the one im having right now only seem to hold charge for about 15hours with fair usage on a 5.0 OS Zain Kuwait.
View 13 Replies View RelatedDo we still need to do a Batterie pull from time to time. I ve installed os .421 and since 15 days i haven t done a pull. I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? Every month?

I don't know if this is some software bug or else, current Android is 2.3.4 version. Would update on 4.0
