View 9 RepliesI would like some software or firmware fixes for the following issues on the Impression. I have the MultiLoader_V.562 & TKFE softwares and the original Samsung USB cable. I have read that some may not be possible on the samsung-impression.org website, but maybe there are more experienced programmers in this forum. I'm hoping the latter is the case! Here are the items I would like seeing solved, in no particular order:
1) Text bug, whereas the text stalls in the "Outbox" and the phone must be power-cycled to return to normal.
2) a) Slider qwerty has slow-response time in regards to letters pressed;
b) Pressing space bar twice creates a period;
c) Certain letters (mainly A, E, & N) aren't accepted if pressed quickly.
3) Possibility to install firmware found in SPTbox format (with the .crz file type)
4) Possibility to install another OS, such as Windows or Android.
This thread is dedicated to all satio users who have complaints and complements also this thread will list all the issues the satio has and what improvements you can make in the next satio update. the consumers who brought the satio for a hefty price of £400 thinking that this was going to be the ultimate device were sadly mistaken as the satio isn't even a device that you can say featurewise even fits into the mid range market for its price. I and all the satio users want to get the features that all high end smartphones have e.g kinetic scrolling, voice dialling etc. (btw don't tell us we cant get them even the low/mid range nokia 5800 has these features). also if you didnt know already there was a petition started by me on the 16th of July which now has 1570 people signed up to it. here is the petition link http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/satio-software-update.html here is the list that we all 1300 (probably more some people didn't sign the petition so about 4500) of us want you to fix the issues with the satio and give it the features that all high end phones have now a days. * Upgrade to symbian^3 (the x10 is getting android 2.1, also the Satio doesn't utilize symbian^1 properly; also this could help you compete against the nokia n8 which has a 12mp camera) ** HD recording (the x10 is getting HD recording why not the Satio it has the required cpu to handle HD recording, this would also help you compete agianst the nokia n8)
1) Kinetic scrolling throughout the whole UI
2) Give Vivaz home screen
3) Media search function in media player
4) Make phone louder (loudspeaker when receiving call, when playing music out loud)
5) Auto continuous focusing whilst recording
6) Better picture quality e.g. sharpness, less compression and faster camera menu
7) Auto change to full qwerty mode if you make you phone landscape from alphanumeric mode
8) Integrated EQ in media player (allowing you to manually set your EQ: up all SE's had this)
9) Fix the screen lag that some people have (screen tearing), this is due to the software
10) Fix clock problem (clock losing time)
11) Proper zoom in media (When you zoom the photo enlarges but does not fill the whole screen! why?)
12) Upgrade the web browser to V7
13) Add smart search to dialler (previous SE phones had it)
14) Improve microphone quality (video/sound recording is very quiet)
15) Ability to play HD films on phone; also divx/xvid support
16) RDS in radio.
17) Change volume level and tracks whilst the phone is locked.i hope you will consider all of these for the next update or otherwise me and the other 4500 (which totals to 4500* £400 = £1,800,000) people who brought the satio will move to another manufacturer (nokia, htc, apple) also anyone feel free to comment
I currently have a 5800 and am happy with it, but it is also a bit buggy - slow, hangs/freezes, sometimes restarts etc. I have the option of buying a new N97 for $200 and I'm really tempted to buy it and sell the 5800 (I originally wanted the N97 but couldn't afford it). I like the QWERTY and its homescreen but I keep hearing the ram is too small for its capabilities and that it's been very buggy. Can anyone tell me if it has improved with the updates and if I should get it, or just stick to the 5800?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've earlier posted two questions about the issues.Would also like to push for theese, for me, very important improvements in a future E72 software release:Improve the search, when dialing from stand by mode (home screen), to also include the "Save As" field from Outlook, or at least the company name. It works in the contacts screen and should of course work in the home screen.Evolve the categories in the calendar so that it can be used with Outlook categories fully. These two improvements would really add a lot of value for me and i think for a lot of other people who use the E72 for business.Would really be nice to here from someone at Nokia that "we are aware and working on a solution".
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).
View 2 Replies View RelatedSomething wrong in UK, two updates but still old firmware?!No internet sharing or flip working. Is the Nokia bit delayed for lumia 800?
View 9 Replies View Related22.007 has been out since forever, and it's basically only the second update since this phone was introduced. Has Nokia forgotten the E72? It sure needs a firmware update:
-Little available memory, applications (especially the browser with a big website) terminate for nothing and "memory full" messages occur very frequently. This is actually the biggest issue.
-The camera application sometimes is quite buggy and even the phone restarts after a photo is taken.
-videos have some lag, especially if you zoom while shooting and using the phone memory doesn't help very much.
-sometimes (especially in the ovi store app) if you start typing in a box the first two letters appear in the opposite order than typed.
-The gallery application can't be terminated using the app manager (by pressing the home button for a couple of seconds) when the app is hidden.
-The trackpad sensitivity could be improved (especially when using it in the browser).

View 19 Replies View RelatedSo far it is working fine, battery does not last like my N95. I 've been reading a lot of blogs about people having issues after updating firmware, i am currently running 1.2009.44-1.002
I called Nokia to ask if they have any updates and the rep told me to wait because pple are having issues and they expect to roll one out soon. Soon with no date. My question is, should I update the firmware, and whats the best way to do it so i don't run into issues ?
I'm currently running firmware version 20.2.019 and when I put my phone's info (RM-507, product code 0576111) into Nokia's website it tells me V21.2.045 is available. However, when I try to download the firmware via OTA or NSU, it tells me no updates are available. What would be preventing me from updating the firmware? Is there another way to download it or is my only option sending the phone to Nokia?
View 14 Replies View RelatedThe update seems to be great with the following exeption:
It has rendered the music player almost unusable!
With the previous music player, you could press the "Back" button and it would take you to your list of music or podcasts. Now the "Back" button just dumps you all the way out to the phone's home screen (just like the end button.) Now, in order to go to your playlist you have to "options", "go to music library", "albums (or podcasts or playlist etc)" then find the album or playlist you were playing, then find your song or track. That's 5 more steps than necessary. The back button is very inportant with the way this media player was designed. You can't just eliminate it in such a way. What good is the improved scroling in the music player if you take away our ability to navigete.
This would be such an easy fix. Just make the Music player's "Back" buton do what it used to do instead of duplicating what the "end call" button already does.
The media player on a device is very inportant. The one on this device is very ordinary. But i put up with it because I am a loyal and very very patient nokia user. I waited 8 long months for this update. And now you just took my media player away. You are very close to making a 12 year nokia user switch to Android. Nokia, please give me back my "back" button. and don't make me wait a long time for it.
in the last week of 2009 i got a text messege from "MyNokia" service notifying that there was a new firmware update for my n82, the v35 i think. The thing is, until today it is unnavailable in the NSU. Anyone updated it already or still waiting like me?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'd be very interested in hearing (please) users experiences with the latest firmware update for the E71 (v.410.21.010). Is this a worthwhile update, or does it result in more problems than it solves?
I believe that it adds the latest OviMaps with Voice Navigation, but that can be added by a direct download/installation.Are there any other must have components to the v410.21.010 firmware?Having experienced a lot of grief the last time I upgraded my fw <E71-firmware-update-messed-up-data-connections>, I am being slightly more cautious this time.

I've just attempted to update my E72 to the latest firmware using the OTA feature. In fact I made the upgrade via my WIFI connection. The downlod succeeded, then the E72 updated the firmware and rebooted. The problem is that my E72 isn't rebooting at all. After it switched off (for the reboot cycle) it could not start anymore. When I'm powering it on, the display shows some background activities, then there is a line and finally it switches off.It seems that the firmware update broke the OS. Has anyone encountered a similar behavior ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFinally got my mitts on one of these amazing phones and loving everything about it.However the euphoria is being slowly eroded by Vodafone's lack of support and knowledge of the device.Since taking delivery of the handset on 4th of March, it and I have been unable to find any firmware updates through the normal channels (Nokia's own update page, NSU and the OTA update search can't find any updates beyond the 1.2009.42-11.205.1). According to Vodafone the latest firmware for the device should be 2.2009.51.1.
I know there's a Maemo Flashing Tool available and have downloaded it and the firmware, but I can't get an answer from Vodafone whether this will void my Vodafone warranty.
I'm concerned that as it won't update now, it won't update when Meego hits the servers.
On the Nokia web site I could see that for my N95 classic (RM-159) the latest firmware is 35.0.002 is available. But when connecting my N95 to OVI i am told that 31.0.017 is the latest being available. Can somebody shed a light on that please?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an N97, apparently I got the non-original one. Can the non-original N97 get the firmware update? I'm having a lot of trouble with this. When I plug the USB cable in to my phone, and then the cable in to the computer, the Mass Storage works, and when I put COM PORT, it said it needed a driver and installed in the MT6225. But here's the big issue. PC SUITE won't detect my phone. Nokia Software Updater won't detect my phone. I'd really like to update the firmware....
I'm also having some trouble with the games and themes. When I put them on my memory card via cable / Mass Storage, I can't run them. I click on the options and there is no "use" or "play". Just forward, details, mark, delete, and some of the other basic options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI did a firmware update on my e52 about a week or two ago and since then my phone has crashes and freezes when I plug it to my computer via USB cable and select PC Suite. It just crashes and the only thing that helps is removing the battery and even after that I need to repeat the battery removal for 2-3 times until it finally responds. Otherwise when I push the button to switch it on it just shakes, the screen stays blank and nothing else happens.
