BB Bold 9000 :: Trying To Turn Off My Alarm?

Jan 26, 2010

I know this sounds like a simple problem, but I am having a difficult time trying to turn off my alarm. The Home screen says it is set for 6AM, and sure enough, it rings at 6AM. I check the clock settings and the alarm shows that it is off. I don't recall setting it (but I know I must have), so I can't figure out how to get it reset. Ideas anyone?

BB Bold 9000 :: Clock Alarm Time Turned Hand - Held Off

Feb 2, 2010

I've recently upgraded my Bold 9000 software device software from v4.6 to v5. Everything work excellent EXCEPT from the Clock-Alarm Sound !!. When my hand-held is Activated, it works according to my relative settings. The problem is when I've set a Clock-Alarm time and turned my handhold OFF. When the time comes, the handheld wakes-up (as it should normally do), displays the dialog form regarding the snooze or the alarm termination but there's NO SOUND AT ALL !!. I've searched the community for regarding problems and I've tried to apply to my handheld every potential suggestion like: 1). usage of a build-in simple sound 2). a sound file stored on my handheld's device memory and not onto an external card 3). battery correct physical enforcement 4) and of course, many-many baterry pool outs (for hard reset) !! Unfortunately nothing worked !! Because i use my handheld as my main (only) wake-up alarm in the morning, I tried to make the following test: 1). Selected the "No Sound" profile (I don't want an accidental call to wake me up after midnight..).....

I noticed that if I shut down the Bold, power up and reset the alarm it will go off, but by morning no sound. I overslept this morning because of it.

BB Bold 9000 :: Picture Taken In Auto Flash Mode Is Totally White / Cannot Snooze Alarm Function

Jun 15, 2010

I have a Bold 9000 that started out with the original Rogers operating system some time in 2008. I've upgraded it through various 4.6 (or is it 4.7?) OS versions and I'm now on (I haven't gone to .681 yet mostly because I keep forgetting). On every single version of 5.0 I've tried (Wind, Azercell, etc) I have run into two problems.

1. The camera takes pictures that are way too bright when using the flash. It's like it doesn't reduce the exposure time when the flash is on - almost every flash picture is totally white. This happens in auto flash and when you force the flash on. Pictures without the flash work the way you'd expect them to.

2. I can't snooze the alarm using a side key while it's in the holster any more. The alarm ringtone starts playing, I press the volume up or down key while the phone is still in the holster. On OS 4.6, this would cause the alarm to snooze for ten minutes. On OS 5.0 it just restarts the alarm sound! Totally pointless. This is especially annoying for me as I need to take pills on a 12 hour basis and so I have alarms going off at least twice a day, every day.

BB Bold 9000 :: Application Memory Seems To Be Really Crap

Jun 29, 2010

I upgraded my OS to an official version 5 around 3 months ago and ever since I did that, my application memory seems to be really crap. Initially I had around 26-30mbs of application memory right after a Quickpull but now I only have around 2-4mb of app memory. It's really frustrating as using my usual apps such as Viigo, Facebook, Msn, Google Maps etc have become a pain and almost impossible to load. And I haven't installed any new applications in case you were wondering.

I have contemplated to downgrade my OS back to version 4 but was wondering if anyone here has encountered this problem and could offer any sort of solution.

BB Bold :: 9000 - OS5 Update & Application Memory?

Aug 29, 2010

Signed up to the forum just for help resolving this issue. I'm currently running OS4.6, trying to update to OS5. I know that the 9000 application memory is SO limited that one has to remove all applications before attempting the update.

So here I am, a completely blank BB Bold, no applications, photos, texts, contacts, etc. I still receive the error message on BB DTM that says I need to remove another 3mb of data before I can continue with the update - but there is literally nothing else I can remove. I'm running DTM on a Mac - I hear that may be cause for some problems as well?

BB Bold 9000 :: 0.0kb Application Memory And No Programs Running?

Aug 27, 2010

My blackberry is going at a snail's, make that an injured snail's pace! I am at a loss as to why. I have very few downloaded apps: one or two games and a couple of random apps. My actual harddrive space is fine (859MB total/846MB free), but it tells me I have 0.0kb of available application memory. However, I do not have ANYTHING running besides what always runs like "home screen" and "phone" and "browser" know, the stuff you can't remove from the Switch Application menu. And it will seem fine but when I do open a program, I get the hourglass every time I click something or scroll.

To give you an idea of how irritating this is, it took me over 20 seconds to unlock the keypad, and another 20-30 seconds before the hourglass went away and I could move my cursor (slowly) to the app I wanted to run. And heaven forbid I run 2 apps at once. Then I've had to wait over 5 minutes for hourglasses to go away. It wasn't always like this. I used to leave all my apps running. I never worried about whether I pressed the EndCall button or closed it from the menu. Could this be caused by one of my apps? If so, how do I find out which one? Ugh I'm so frustrated! If I needed to call 911, I would be dead before I got my keypad unlocked. I'm not exaggerating.
