I've been having issues with my alarm not going off in the mornings. The "Snooze", "Dismiss" window does come up but there is no alarm sound to wake me. I noticed that if I shut down the Bold, power up and reset the alarm it will go off, but by morning no sound. I overslept this morning because of it.

The Home screen says it is set for 6AM, and sure enough, it rings at 6AM. I check the clock settings and the alarm shows that it is off. I don't recall setting it (but I know I must have), so I can't figure out how to get it reset. Ideas anyone?

red light
white screen with black clock
The first time, ATT told me that I needed a new phone. Didn't cost me anything but is a pain in the **bleep** since I have no other phone and I have to walk 4 miles to find a working payphone. Had to do w/o a phone for a week.I have tried removing and reinserting the battery, to no avail.It is now 712 EDT (GMT -5). I will check back later this evening.
I get the above error message when I try to change the alarm time and click on the clock icon. Could someone please tell me how to fix the problem? At the moment I can't change the alarm time or turn it off as I can't get into the application.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've recently upgraded my Bold 9000 software device software from v4.6 to v5. Everything work excellent EXCEPT from the Clock-Alarm Sound !!. When my hand-held is Activated, it works according to my relative settings. The problem is when I've set a Clock-Alarm time and turned my handhold OFF. When the time comes, the handheld wakes-up (as it should normally do), displays the dialog form regarding the snooze or the alarm termination but there's NO SOUND AT ALL !!. I've searched the community for regarding problems and I've tried to apply to my handheld every potential suggestion like: 1). usage of a build-in simple sound 2). a sound file stored on my handheld's device memory and not onto an external card 3). battery correct physical enforcement 4) and of course, many-many baterry pool outs (for hard reset) !! Unfortunately nothing worked !! Because i use my handheld as my main (only) wake-up alarm in the morning, I tried to make the following test: 1). Selected the "No Sound" profile (I don't want an accidental call to wake me up after midnight..).....
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a Bold 9000 that started out with the original Rogers operating system some time in 2008. I've upgraded it through various 4.6 (or is it 4.7?) OS versions and I'm now on 5.0.0.662 (I haven't gone to .681 yet mostly because I keep forgetting). On every single version of 5.0 I've tried (Wind, Azercell, etc) I have run into two problems.
1. The camera takes pictures that are way too bright when using the flash. It's like it doesn't reduce the exposure time when the flash is on - almost every flash picture is totally white. This happens in auto flash and when you force the flash on. Pictures without the flash work the way you'd expect them to.
2. I can't snooze the alarm using a side key while it's in the holster any more. The alarm ringtone starts playing, I press the volume up or down key while the phone is still in the holster. On OS 4.6, this would cause the alarm to snooze for ten minutes. On OS 5.0 it just restarts the alarm sound! Totally pointless. This is especially annoying for me as I need to take pills on a 12 hour basis and so I have alarms going off at least twice a day, every day.
My escape key (key one left of the hangup button) has a double personality.One minute it acts like it should and moves me back a screen.And the next it takes me to a screen that forces me to choose form an icon list that oly shows the programs/apps I have running at the moment.

I am very careful with my phone and I haven't dropped it or gotten it wet at all. When I receive a call or go to make a call it won't let me, it just picks up and hangs right up. I have never had a problem with Bluetooth before. Does anyone else have this issue from Sprint .699 upgrading to .732? I don't know if I should wipe and reinstall or just go back to .699, which I didn't have any problem with anyway? Thoughts?

Another problem is when i use it for gps navigation, i type a new addresss i need to gets to and i display it on map, when i drive, the spot showing me is moving, however the map is not moving along with it, after a while it just goes out of the map. Anyway to get this working like before it was updated to OS6?

I hit them and the alarm just keeps going and going, I have to hit the red menu button and it goes to snooz mode, is there a way to revert back to v31 as I really do not like this newer v40 firmware.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my bold for just over 4 months now and in the last few days my menu key and track key aren't working properly. When I press the menu key it brings up my switch app window (I'm literally just pressing it, not holding it down for a few secs) and will do this 4 or 5 times before it brings up the options. Now my track key is going. I press it and it'll bring my options up. I can do this 3 or 4 times before it'll actually go into the icon or link that I'm wanting . I've tried the whole reboot with the phone on and it does nothing.
My last bold I had 19 months and did not once have a problem with it (other than the deep scratch I put in the screen!), 4 months with this and I can't even use the basic and most important keys on the bloody phone!
I have my BlackBerry Bold 9700 for over 5 months right now. It always was working nice, till one day ago.The lock/unlock (mute?) button doesn't work properly anymore.I can lock my blackberry with the lock/unlock button (and the a/* key) but I can't unlock it anymore with the lock/unlock button. View 14 Replies View RelatedThe title says it all - I have a Bold with the oh-so-common broken mute key and I know that the latest 5.0 builds modified the lock/standby behavior. What is the latest build I can use?I can theoretically just use the warranty to get another refurb, but this is 9000 #2 to lose the standby button after 3 months, so I'd rather just hop on Craigslist and buy a 9700, then sell this 9000...
Also, has ANYONE been able to successfully use Blackberry AIM Recently? I seem to always have to choose "Refresh List" to get my messages - I've resent service books and even wiped my phone and reinstalled AT&T .303. I've tried the old 2.1 version that's available on here somewhere (which used to work well) as well as the latest 2.5.32 (which I don't really like anyway because of the 2-line contact list).
I recently had problems with my phone and had to restore it using a full handheld wipe. I reloaded ny data and all is well except that I cannot get my phone to give me a tone or a vibrate when I receive an email. I have the out of holster and the in holster settings set to vibrate+tone, high, 3 but it still will not give me any audio or vibrate alert just mail icon pops up so I can only tell if I look at the phone if I have new email.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just put made my first call with the BB. The speakerphone works fine, but the smaller speaker that goes against the ear doesn't work. It does work on my wife's 9000 (bought at the same time from the same place). I've tried the increasing the volume button on the side. My profile is set to normal. I've tried going into the phone application and making sure mute was off, and default volume set to 75%.It does work normally when I put headphones in during a call.Any suggestions, or is it defective?

My keypad and trackball do not work on the home page, except for the green phone, escape, red phone, convenience buttons, and the mute button. I can switch applications with the left convenience button, and all the buttons and trackball work on any other screen. It's not a password issue, and I don't think it's how the keypad lock works. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedA few weeks ago the click function of my trackball stopped working. I think it was because I had moisture and dirt on my hand when I picked it up to use it. I have been reluctant to take it apart since I don't have a backup BB and it is still 90% functional without this feature working. Today, I did 3 things. First, I took rubbing alcohol and a q-tip and soaked the trackball. Then I used a piece of a straw, threaded it down between the black piece around the trackball and the chrome bezel, gently pulled up on it and used as much compressed air as possible to blow out the area under the trackball. Then, while the battery was out I pushed on the trackball assembly from behind pretty hard. I repeated this procedure a few times, and it suddenly started working. It was intermittent at first, but is working normally now. For how long I don't know but thought I would share this for others that have the same issue.
