I just received my replacement phone and the screen doesn't turn off during a call.
Is there a fix that I could do or do I have a defective phone?
Doing a wipe cache partition fixes it for a little bit and maybe an hour later, it's broken again.
I've also tried doing a factory reset with no success.
Why doesnt my s5 turn off when I get a notification or when I check the time On lock screen. This been happening for the past days. I had about 55% of battery and when I got off work it was dead. I then later charged my phone and noticed that when I get a notification on the lock screen it won't turn off right after the notification showed. when I turn on the phone to check the time on the lock screen it doesn't turn off. it would usually turn off seconds later. This has been draining my battery. if I have a full battery at night and disconnect it and throughout the night I get a text message the lock screen would turn on and never turn off,and then in the morning I'm left with a dead phone or a 3% left, or when I disconnect the phone it doesn't turn of neither. How do I set it back to how it was. I already factory reset?

Have to press power button n times to bring back display. In diagnostic test ear proximity sensor is found ok. I have not upgraded to new lollipop version ....

So, I got this Motorola Charm about a week ago and about 2-3 days ago when it would blackout to lock the screen sometimes it would not turn back on. I would try to unlock on it, I even held the power button to turn it off if possible but it did not budge. The soultion to this was removing the battery out and putting it back in. How do I fix this from happening over and over again.

I can't hang up, hit any numbers or anything else. I changed the setting so when I hit the power button it ends the call. View 9 Replies View RelatedHitting the power button does not turn the display on. Actually nothing turns the display on. This began happening occasionally, for a few seconds at a time. Then it became a few minutes at a time. Now it is permanent.
What's truly odd is that the phone seems to be completely working otherwise. It rings, alarms go off, indicator lights flash. It connects to my car over bluetooth and if I plug in headphones and hit the play headphones' action button, music starts. If I hold the power button down, every 5s I get a little haptic feedback, and it appears to reboot if I hold power and volume up (or down, I can't recall), so I know the buttons are working.
I even have a suspicion that touchscreen digitizer is working because I think I've dismissed a few notifications by double-tapping (I'm on Lollipop). Also, I swear I have seen very fleeting, very dim views of the unlock screen a few times.
I should also add that I took advantage of Google's recent replacement policy lenience - this is a refurb I've had for a month or two.
I'm contemplating replacing the screen/digitizer on the theory that this is a broken screen. It feels like the backlight is broken. But I'd rather not spend the $$$ and time if the problem is deeper than that.
When my phone rings, the screen doesn't turn on. It's like the screen is off. It's vibrating, ringing, but I can't see who is calling. If I hit the lock/power button then I get the lock screen, I can unlock the phone and answer. This has been happening for the past week or so.

When making a call the S6 makes a connection tone and a disconnection tone at the end of the call. You could turn this off on the S5 I cannot find where to turn it off on the S6.

When I'm using my bluetooth headset and hit the end button, I have no visual confirmation from my phone that the call has indeed ended.With the majority of the other phones I've owned, the screen will come on and a notification will pop up for certain things (call ending, incoming texts, bluetooth connected/disconnected, wifi available, etc). But on Android I can't find a way to do this.
