Jul 29, 2010I purchased a new 32gb iPhone 4 from my local Apple Store. After everything was all setup, I walked around the store trying to replicate the "death grip" which I was able to do, mostly anyway. A few seconds go by and a screen pops up, very similar to the incoming call screen.
It was plank at the top where the number usually would go, and below that it said "Pwr on/off". At the bottom was the usual Accept / Decline buttons. The Apple genius immediately said "Oh, hold on a sec" and pressed the "Accept" button, and the screen disappeared. When I asked him about it, he was very very coy about it and said "Oh, it was a diagnostic screen, don't worry about it. It's gone and you won't see it again." I kept asking what the screen was and he kept deflecting the question.
Anyways, much of the screen description was coming from memory, so I'm not 100% sure it was exactly, but it was damn close. I wish I had time to take a screenshot. Anyways, has anyone else seen this screen before? What is it?

Mar 15, 2012When I wake my phone the screen is VERY dim...I have to wake it (dim screen), but it back on standby and wake it again (screen usable and ok). Once the screen in bright I can put it back on standby and turn it on again without any problems but once it has been on standby for a while I have to wake it up twice to see the screen.This is the same when the system lights the screen - alarm, incoming call etc....it's too dim to read the screen until the screen has been turned off (cutting the caller off) and back on again.

Jan 6, 2016I have an unlocked US variant S6 SM-G920T with Baseband (G920TUEU3COK1). I have been using it on Tmobile without issues since Cyber Monday.
But now, randomly, when I get a phone call from a contact that is already in the phone, I see the number on the display rather than the contact name. After I either answer or reject or allow to go to voicemail, and then go look at the call log, the contact name is displayed. This is getting annoying as I keep ignoring calls that I would like to take ( and sometimes need to take).
Only thing I've tried is to clear data and clear cache in the contacts app. Phone is not rooted...

Mar 27, 2015I have an S5 which ALL OF A SUDDEN has stopped making a sound when ringing also when texts came through! I have search my self "round the bend", looking for a reason/solution!, to no avail!
I've tried resetting the sound settings, changing the ringtone etc! (when selecting a different ringtone, the phone DOES NOT make any sound then either, whereas, before it would play the tunes as I went through the "ring tone" menu).
The other sounds, ie key pad, internet etc all play sound!

Now, I receive the full screen photo on one of my contacts, but everyone else has changed to a small banner at the top of the screen, with a very small photo in the top right corner. 2) ALSO,WHEN THE ALARM RINGS IT SHOWS SAME KINDA SCREEN AS ABOVE BUT WITH TWO ON-SCREEN BUTTONS OF 'STOP' N 'SNOOZE'.THESE ON-SCREEN BUTTONS ARE NON FUNCTIONAL.I HAVE TO STOP ALARM BY 'END CALL' BUTTON MANUALLY.

YESTERDAY I REFORMATTED THE PHONE REMOVING MEMORY CARD AND I NOTICED THAT I GOT THE ALRAM SCREEN ALL RIGHT AS IT WAS NORMALLY.BUT THEN AFTER A FEW HOURS I PLACED IN THE MEMORY CARD AND THEN TODAY THE ALARM SCREEN WAS THE SAME AS IN PROBLEM 1.
