How group message replies are supposed to function when you reply to a group text but uncheck the "group conversation" box. When I uncheck the box is everyone still supposed to receive my reply but just in a separate thread to them only via SMS?
View 1 RepliesI currently have an iPhone 5 and have a group chat with other iOS users. One user is overseas so can only use WiFi to chat. I'm planning to get the S6 in April, but have been confused over whether or not I can group chat with just the messaging apps provided. My parents both have the S5 and when they group chat me using the Verizon Messenger app, it works just fine. However, I've heard from others that the texts come through separately, or that its just impossible to group chat with iOS users. We've talked about using other apps like Hangouts, etc, but those tend to drain batteries faster.
After doing some more research, I read that the Verizon messenger app lets you chat via WiFi, but will that jive with iMessage? I don't want another iPhone and I'm very excited about the S6, but its just frustrating not being sure if we can keep our group chat up.
How to Group message with iPhone users. I can send a group message two 2 iPhone users and they receive it but I never get their reply. I have had my galaxy for 8 days and I am going to return if I can't solve this. I really like this phone but I have to have group messaging. I have checked message settings under multimedia I have group messaging checked.

How come i don't have Group messaging like other people ?
I am using the stock messaging app. When I open the text thread for one of my contacts, at the bottom where you would start another text, it says "enter chat msg" and there is a green send button. It just so happens this person is also a gs6 owner. For all my other text threads, it says at the bottom "enter message" with an orange send button.

Weird thing is, I attached the same image using Hangouts and it worked just fine. Surprisingly I really like the stock app so I'd rather keep it.

I opened it and there was a person's name and a chat, but no inidication of how they were contacting me. GTalk? Facebook Chat? Text Message? Just their name. As it turns out, I subsequently opened GTalk and there was the conversation I just had.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen recieving a new text message and tapping on the notification, the text messaging app always opens to a previous point in the conversation, several messages up from the latest text that I just recieved. This means that every time I get a new text, after opening up the text messaging app I have to scroll down to see what the latest message actually was.I am using SwfitKey (an altnernative keyboard) currently, but the issue happens with the standard keyboard as well. I figured it could be because swiftkey is popping up and blocking the bottom few messages, forcing me to scroll down to see them, but this does not appear to be the case, unless every keyboard is doing this.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have recently enabled 3G in mom's Galaxy S2. Now in order to make 3G or GPRS work, the user has to enable "Packet Data" in the Settings>Wireless & Network. In mom's case that "Enable Packet Data" check box automatically gets unchecked after few minutes.
1) Does it got something to do with the power saving settings?
2) Or does the anti-virus software or battery defender automatically unchecks it?
3) Or is it a virus / bug?
GALAXY S6 MMS GROUP MESSAGE PROBLEM
When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings.Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?
1.) Go to main screen
2.) Go to messages
3.) tap MORE AT TOP RIGHT OF SCREEN
4.) SELECT Settings
5.) SELECT MORE SETTINGS
6.) SELECT MULTIMEDIA MESSAGES
7.) TURN GROUP CONVERSATION ON
After creating a group on the people page, when you try to send an sms to the group, the message does not get sent. The messages do go when they are sent individually.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using the stock messaging app and ChompSMS on my X10. After updating to 2.1 I wasn't going to install chomp since I found the stock app good enough. Then I noticed that if I type an SMS, longer than 3 SMS-es, it gets converted to MMS. And there is no setting to disable that. I have free SMS-es, I don't want to send MMS-es and pay for them. :S Why are there no settings for this in the app? Are they somewhere else in the phone?
