I am using the stock messaging app. When I open the text thread for one of my contacts, at the bottom where you would start another text, it says "enter chat msg" and there is a green send button. It just so happens this person is also a gs6 owner. For all my other text threads, it says at the bottom "enter message" with an orange send button.
View 8 RepliesHow group message replies are supposed to function when you reply to a group text but uncheck the "group conversation" box. When I uncheck the box is everyone still supposed to receive my reply but just in a separate thread to them only via SMS?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHow to resize it and keep it that way? I use the pinch feature to make it smaller but when I exit the app and go back to it it reverts back to the default size. I went into the settings and there is a font size selection, but it never changes the size.

Weird thing is, I attached the same image using Hangouts and it worked just fine. Surprisingly I really like the stock app so I'd rather keep it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSince the latest lolly update, the "chat service" has disappeared as an option from the stock messaging app. The one where your texts were coloured yellow if they were being sent over the internet rather than an SMS. This is very frustrating, as I was just extolling the virtues of this feature to my wife who has the Z3C, I have the Z3. She raves about What'sApp you see. Now "Chat" is gone! It's not even in the settings menu as "enable chat service" anymore... Have deleted data from app etc to no avail. It has gone from both our 'phones BTW.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been using the stock messaging app and ChompSMS on my X10. After updating to 2.1 I wasn't going to install chomp since I found the stock app good enough. Then I noticed that if I type an SMS, longer than 3 SMS-es, it gets converted to MMS. And there is no setting to disable that. I have free SMS-es, I don't want to send MMS-es and pay for them. :S Why are there no settings for this in the app? Are they somewhere else in the phone?

Suddenly every time I sent a picture message I would receive the "Unfortunately, the Messaging app has stopped responding" error. My phone also stopped being able to receive pictures as well. I can't figure out what exactly changed that caused this issue, or if this is a common bug or completely isolated incident.

So the person I'm sending it to receives 2 or 3 SMS instead of one. I had the same issue on my iPhone years ago, but Apple fixed it, so I can send super long SMS. Is there a way to fix this on my Z3?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive an sms, the messaging app shows a phone number instead of a contact name. It also does not show the contact photo. From time to time the contact name would show (reason undetermined), but still without the photo. I am using a stock messaging app and the phone is not modded in any way. All contacts are Google contacts duplicated and linked to Phone contacs (although I tried erasing Phone contacts and using only Google contacts - to no avail.) Each contact has got a +48 country prefix. The "People" list is showing photos without a problem. I previously had a classic Desire and the messaging app worked fine.

View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I go to type certain letters on Swype (as in not actually "swiping," but just pressing single keys to enter an individual letter), the phone does not enter the letter, and it backs out of the keyboard app. Opening the keyboard back up to type then results in words failing to enter either through individual key presses, or through swiping. The word will show up on the word prediction bar, but will not enter, and the vibrate-on-keypress also fails. I then have to back out of the program that I was trying to type in, but every time I open it back up and try to key in a single letter, the same problem occurs.This problem comes about randomly, I have no idea what spurs the issue. Also, it seems to happen when I am trying to punch in a few specific keys ("K" especially, and also "D." May have noted the problem with 1 or 2 other keys, not sure).

My friends (that all have iPhones, of different carriers and versions) are trying to add me to their group chat but they said it won't work (I saw first hand two of them try and it didn't work.)
I have checked to see if my group chat is on, and it is. I'm in a group chat with my family (dad being the creator, Droid, Android OS) and there is an iPhone in it too, works fine.
I'm wondering if it's because I switched my default messaging app (I doubt that though) to Google's "Messenger". I saw some people comment on another thread to use "Stock Messenger" or Stock something, but I have no app like that on my phone.
When I am viewing an SMS conversation, with lets say someone named bob, and bob sends me another message, it does not beep if I am still in the bob sms window. I get no notification. To get a notification I have to back out or lock the screen each time.
Sometimes I sit my phone down waiting for a reply and when it beeps I know I have a reply. however, with the s6 I am forced to back out of mine and bob's chat window each and every time just so I can receive the notification beep again to know when he has replied. Is there a way to fix this? Or am I forced to use a 3rd party app (not preferred)
I just got a new Galaxy S6 edge but it doesn't remember the WiFi passwords that I enter. I have moved from my parents house and It dosnt remeber the password of my new house but it remembers my parents password. I had Galaxy s5 with the same problem. I sync. everything from my Galaxy s5.

Everything works flawlessly but the phone seems to be unable to enter in deep sleep mode. I have already cleaned my cache from stock recovery without success.
I recently got a Samsung Galaxy s6 Edge. Loving the phone, but was surprised not to see raw support and shutter speed ability in the stock camera app, as last may I was convinced I had read that it was going to have an 'exciting' camera update. After some research, I discovered this had been updated and implemented in Android 5.1.1.
So does this mean even with the impending 6.0 update, that the only way to use raw or tinker with the shutter speed will be via a third party app? If so that seems a bit lame..
I do love my lg g4 but compared to the s6 edge it looks ancient, the camera capabilities are simply amazing though. That's why I don't get why Samsung hasn't made it accessible from their own app?
My phone is currently rooted, with a different kernel and running deodexed XtreStoLite. How to go back to stock? I want to trade my phone in soon at T-Mobile and I know they'll notice the phone is rooted, since it says "kernel is not seandroid enforcing" when booting up. Everything works fine, though. I know in most people's case that text only shows for bootloop, but mine works fine.
