LG G4 :: Can't Locate Stock Messaging App In Nova Launcher
Jun 5, 2015
Ok I have been trying to figure this one out for a few days. I installed Nova launcher and for some reason I cant seem to find the stock messaging app in Nova. It's there in the stock launcher but nowhere to be found in Nova.
I have an HTC One from AT&T, and I just began using Nova Launcher. How can I delete some of the stock apps like FM Radio, Stocks, AT&T apps, etc with Nova Launcher? I've gone into the App menu under settings and disabled a few, but some don't have that option. Is there any easy way to get rid of these unwanted apps?
Over the weekend I decided to take a shot with Nova Launcher Prime on my LG G4. One of the things I'd like to do is have a different wallpaper on each of my screens. I've tried using Five Wallpapers, Multi Picture Live and Go Multiple Wallpaper.
I downloaded nova launcher from the play store and I didn't like it i can use the default launcher but it wont let me delete the nova launcher app...
When trying to delete it from play store it says: this app is devuce manager app and it has to be stopped before uninstalling (not 1 for 1 because of translation from hebrew)...
Using Nova Launcher rebooting at night while charging and also changing the wallpaper too?
It has happened two night in a row.
Just trying to figure out what's causing the change of wallpaper while charging at night. Can't figure out what's the cause...just thought Nova was the cause as I googled and saw that Nova has done it before
I finally got my phone set up the way I wanted it using nova launcher and some icon themes. The first thing I tested was the tap to wake/sleep as I was disappointed to find out doesn't work.
I'd be willing to get a different launcher if it works with the tap feature but my first choice is to get it working with nova.
Nova Launcher will not show widgets in the current iteration. It gives this long winded explanation on how to show widgets. But when I follow it, you can't check the widgets you want.
I just got a galaxy s5, wanted to customize the screens and icons a bit more, read about nova launcher and downloaded. Am very happy with the screens and icons, etc. but ever since I did that I can't use google maps gps. What I try to put in an address to ask for directions it says "turn by turn navigation is only available in these location modes: high accuracy (or) device only" Then you have the option of hitting ignore, which means you still don't get directions, or settings, which takes you to the location section of settings. Location is set to on, but I can't see any place where "high accuracy" is an option and don't remember this ever being an issue with my S3 - which is why I think this is related to the Nova Launcher?how to fix it. I'll uninstall the launcher if I have to but wondering if there is an alternative.
Whenever I set a wallpaper on my Moto X while using Nova the buttons are in a black bar and it looks like they aren't "on screen." But setting a wallpaper while on the Google Now launcher resolves this problem. It's kind of annoying to have to switch launchers just to change a wallpaper.
I happened to look at the memory section in settings (6.0.1) and noticed my Nexus 6P (not rooted) using an average of 2.3GB RAM within the last 3 hours - 650MB of which was Android OS and Nova closely behind at 350MB - not exactly lightweight. I haven't noticed any issues performance wise (so what's the problem you might be thinking) but my Nexus 6 never used that much for Nova. In fact, with a similar setup I have on the Nexus 6P, I would sit around 1.5GB on the Nexus 6.
I will reinstall and test again but 350MB seems to be a lot in my opinion (which isn't a technical one)...
Having issue where nova launcher "crashes" becomes inactive when coming out of sleep or clicking on the home button? I have had it since upgrading to lollipop. I have the PE version and I just got moto yo send me a code for a new phone but they are showing my walnut backed version as "unavailable" so I'm not too excited about my options.
I've been emailing with teslacoil about this issue but they can't seem to reproduce... I've done a recovery and cleared partition but haven't reset since post lollipop upgrade.
I decided this morning to root my phone and am now realizing that Nova Launcher apparantly doesn't allow you to choose the location of your backup file if you want to restore it..I keep reading that the default location where the backup file needs to be is on an SD card, how could Nova have overlooked this for Nexus 5 owner's?
Role of people using nova launcher on the Nexus 6 phones, do you just your controls and settings menu on Nova Launcher at all? If you do, what kind of district controls do you use? For example, I'm trying to set up the camera icon in my launcher if I swipe up on the camera icon to automatically launch the video camera but I can't seem to get it to work at all.
I have been using Nova Launcher on my s5 and really like it. Before I get Nova Prime I was wondering if the unread counts will work using the teslaunread plugin with the Samsung email and Samsung SMS app.
Is there a way to get the Widget selection to read correctly (the text appears to be white on a white background)? I know there is a way to do this using methods not supported by these forums but I would like to avoid that if could.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Its not rooted. But I am running Nova Launcher as my default launcher. It causes my lock screen to kinda glitch out. The letters and numbers on the pin lock screen are turning into solid white blocks. I know if I restart my phone, it fixes it. But I'm just curious as to what causes it.
I am unable to locate my ADW launcher icon. I did note that ADW is still running however. Following a web search I learned that I could disable the phone's original launcher. I'm not savvy enough to know what the launcher is or how to do that.
Had some issues with the Dock icons at the bottom of the screen. Tried to solve the issue with Go Launcher EX. I want to return to the original Photon Launcher and get rid of Go Launcher EX. Go Launcher EX took over without asking if I wanted to use it over my stock launcher. Now this Go Launcher EX is a non-removable program.
How do you change the icons on the Nexus 5 with stock Google Launcher? I used to use the Nova launcher b/c you could customize the heck out of it, but with the Nexus 5 I'm really happy with the stock Launcher and it's integration with Google Now. The only problem is that I can't seem to customize the options with the stock Google Experience Launcher.
I was at the Texas State Fair this weekend, and a Verizon guy was trying to con my family into all these "deal." He did have a Bionic, which I managed to get to play with. It was not long before I concluded that the Bionic is way faster than the DROID3. And that's with livewallpapers on. I fired up the camera app, did some browsing on the browser, and nothing. No redraw, no lag.
Now, the launcher speed did improve with the update. But it is still not up to speed with Bionic, it will still redraw coming out of intensive apps, and Launcher Pro blows it out of the water in all but one area. Oh and I went through quite a few pages on the Bionic forums, and did a search for both "lag" and "redraw" and came up fairly empty. With live wallpapers on, Launcher Pro's app drawer drops frames. Live wallpapers doesn't seem to affect the stock launcher at all. Overall LP is faster, but not that one little area.
So when are we going to get some attention around here in Bionic soak test land???
I'm on the latest official ICS 4.0.4. I was using the stock weather widget when using the stock Xperia Home Launcher. I just changed to Nova Launcher, which I find better than the stock launcher. However, now I find that I cannot access the Weather Widget from the Widget Menu. Most/all other widgets seem to be listed there, but the weather widget is missing!
Is there any way I can get this widget on Nova? I really liked that widget, and it seemed fairly accurate too. But I don't want to get back to the stock launcher just for it.
I know the stock Weather Widget is from Accuweather, but I am unable to find the same same widget on the Android Market. Screen showing 2 widgets in question below:
