When i go to the settings of my Messages App, then Multimedia Messages, I don't see the "Group messages" text box.
I only have :
- Delivery reports
- read reports
- Auto retrieve
- Roaming auto retrieve
- Set restrictions
- MMS Alert
How come i don't have Group messaging like other people ?
Whenever my friends start a group message I don't receive all the messages from each member of the group. As a former iPhone user, I believe their phones still think I have an iPhone and keep sending me iMessages instead of normal texts.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI currently have an iPhone 5 and have a group chat with other iOS users. One user is overseas so can only use WiFi to chat. I'm planning to get the S6 in April, but have been confused over whether or not I can group chat with just the messaging apps provided. My parents both have the S5 and when they group chat me using the Verizon Messenger app, it works just fine. However, I've heard from others that the texts come through separately, or that its just impossible to group chat with iOS users. We've talked about using other apps like Hangouts, etc, but those tend to drain batteries faster.
After doing some more research, I read that the Verizon messenger app lets you chat via WiFi, but will that jive with iMessage? I don't want another iPhone and I'm very excited about the S6, but its just frustrating not being sure if we can keep our group chat up.
How to Group message with iPhone users. I can send a group message two 2 iPhone users and they receive it but I never get their reply. I have had my galaxy for 8 days and I am going to return if I can't solve this. I really like this phone but I have to have group messaging. I have checked message settings under multimedia I have group messaging checked.

When I receive group messages (whether from iphone, android, or windows) they show up in individual message threads. I have to download them, then they disappear from that thread and show up in the group thread.
I do not get a notification when they originally come through in the individual thread. I have to open my messages app and see an unread message. I do get a normal notification though once it has downloaded and transferred to the group thread.
I have group messages checked in the message settings
I have data roaming checked in data usage settings
I have AT&T
I use the stock messaging
I also have this same issue if someone sends me a picture, no notification and it must be downloaded
Is it due to having background data restricted? I cannot turn it on to see if it changes anything because I have a small data plan and don't want to risk going over.......
Since the Lollipop update (I know, I know...) my group text messages haven't been downloading. Sometimes I'll see the MMS trying to download but it just times out and I never see it.
But then tonight I found out that I wasn't receiving any text messages from my roommates. The individually sent texts would come through but not the group ones.
Verizon ended up having me do a hard reset and it still didn't work.
The kicker though, my roommates turned off the iMessage/turn to regular SMS on their iPhones and app future text messages started coming through.
But I wasn't getting text messages from others with Androids too. It seems to be only on group messages though.
WhataApp: Vibrate is turned off in the app for group messages and only turned on for private messages, but the phone vibrates for all messages when the phone is on vibrate. Before, in vibrate mode, the phone only would vibrate for private messages.
Text message: Use to vibrate twice to differentiate text from other notifications, but now only vibrates once like all other notifications.
I had an iPhone 5 and dumped it to hop on the S6 train. However, I was receiving group messages from other iPhone users on iMessage prior. I disabled iMessage before I switched, had AT&T update the system and I still can't receive group messages and images from other iPhone users.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy issue is this, my messaging icons do not depict number of unread messages, at all. Including the Samsung default text messaging app, Gmail and Verizon email. They did when I first got the phone (Galaxy S6) but have not at all today after doing some simple personalization.
Additionally, I have gone into app manager and the individual apps and the show notifications check box is checked.
GALAXY S6 MMS GROUP MESSAGE PROBLEM
When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings.Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?

2.) Go to messages
3.) tap MORE AT TOP RIGHT OF SCREEN
4.) SELECT Settings
5.) SELECT MORE SETTINGS
6.) SELECT MULTIMEDIA MESSAGES
7.) TURN GROUP CONVERSATION ON
After creating a group on the people page, when you try to send an sms to the group, the message does not get sent. The messages do go when they are sent individually.

I've just bought this unlocked iPhone from appel, but then I do not have the Group Message option under the SMS/MMS column in settings? why is that?
Also, my frined's iPhone have this option that allow his phone to only show the word "message"when someone texted him, instead of showing the text itself. I do not have the option neither

View 15 Replies View RelatedOkay, I got a new Blackberry Curve 8530, and it's the first Blackberry I've had. I changed the style of my SMS messaging from bubbles to stripes, and now it won't change back. I can go into the options, and change it and save the changes, but it stays the same. It will even say that it's set to bubbles, but it doesn't change the look of it. I know it's not a huge deal, but it bothers me, and I was wondering if it's a user error, or something is up with my Blackberry.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased Xperia Neo V, while my cousin was browsing the phone, I think he accidentally deleted the message icon. But when I checked, the messaging option itself was completely gone. When I click on messaging - "What's app"is opening and asking for internet connection. I don't get any alerts/ tones for messages - & there is nothing available in settings/ widgets/ apps mentioning anything about messaging. Also in the timescape widget, I am able to see some message but after 10 secs or so notification comes - "messaging failed".
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my L930 (10586), I was able to go to the Messaging app and send a text to someone via Skype. That is, at the top right, there was a drop-down to select "SIM" or "Skype".
Now, it just says "SIM Text" and "No SIM", which I'm guessing means the missing SIM 2.
Is this another Dual-SIM thing (like VMM appears to not work with Dual-SIM phones) or am I doing sing wrong?
