Jan 27, 2014Don't know the reason we get a popup stating "Converting to MMS..." when a group convo is opened? It is just kind of annoying that it has to popup every single time.

HTC One M8 :: Possible To Participate In Group Messaging On Phone With Converting Messages To MMS
Jul 14, 2014Is it possible to participate in group messaging on an HTC One M8 with it converting the messages to MMS? I hate the delay and the "loading" message it gives when sending a message. Or are group messages required to be mms instead of sms? I fully understand how to send an sms to multiple people, my concern is group messaging.

May 17, 2015I recently bought an M9 and have been loving most of the features. I've used a WindowsPhone for the past ~3 years and wanted something different. For years now, I've been a part of a group text with a few friends. There were no issues with it on my old phone, but I'm running into some issues with the M9.
For example: When I open the group text, there's a bubble that says "Converting to MMS message" every time. This happens even if I just backed out of the message and re-entered it.
Every time I send a message, a loading icon pops up in the middle of the screen. After the loading icon goes away, the message that I sent has another icon inside of it that stays there for a few seconds. Eventually, that icon goes away too. Some of the messages that are sent to me by my friends come through as individual texts with a download link. If I follow the download link, it appears in the group text.
Scrolling through the group message is extremely choppy. Everything else on this phone has been smooth, this is the only thing I've noticed that doesn't load well

Aug 22, 2015The Samsung message app converts long messages to MMS which ends ends up costing me. Can this be switched off? The Hangouts messaging app doesn't do this but I prefer the look of the Samsung app (personal preference).

Mar 26, 2015I currently have an iPhone 5 and have a group chat with other iOS users. One user is overseas so can only use WiFi to chat. I'm planning to get the S6 in April, but have been confused over whether or not I can group chat with just the messaging apps provided. My parents both have the S5 and when they group chat me using the Verizon Messenger app, it works just fine. However, I've heard from others that the texts come through separately, or that its just impossible to group chat with iOS users. We've talked about using other apps like Hangouts, etc, but those tend to drain batteries faster.
After doing some more research, I read that the Verizon messenger app lets you chat via WiFi, but will that jive with iMessage? I don't want another iPhone and I'm very excited about the S6, but its just frustrating not being sure if we can keep our group chat up.

When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings.Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?

I want to start using icloud. Is there a disadvantage to not converting my mobile me account and just starting with an icloud account with the gmail address I have rather than a me.com email address. I have never really utilized the me.com email.
