Motorola Droid X2 :: The Text Messaging App Always Opens To A Previous Point In The Conversation?

Jul 22, 2011

When recieving a new text message and tapping on the notification, the text messaging app always opens to a previous point in the conversation, several messages up from the latest text that I just recieved. This means that every time I get a new text, after opening up the text messaging app I have to scroll down to see what the latest message actually was.I am using SwfitKey (an altnernative keyboard) currently, but the issue happens with the standard keyboard as well. I figured it could be because swiftkey is popping up and blocking the bottom few messages, forcing me to scroll down to see them, but this does not appear to be the case, unless every keyboard is doing this.

Galaxy S6 :: Got Media Text From One Person It Shows Up But In Previous Conversation

Nov 11, 2015

This only happens with one person on my phone but its my gf so i receive pictures all the time. Basically we text back in forth all day and when she sends me a picture or shares a youtube video the text downloads for the current day and time but once its completed i have to scroll up in the conversation to exactly 27 hours earlier. So today 11/11/15 at 4:05pm if i got a picture mail it would show up as 11/10/15 1:05pm. I've tried changing my time settings but no luck.

Motorola Droid Razr :: Text Message Conversation Icons?

Does anyone know a way to get your own picture to show up in your text conversations with another person? I've tried adding myself to my contacts and that didn't work. When I click on the icon, all I get is "contact doesn't exist". I used to be able to do this with my old phone.

Why do you like them or not like them?I'm currently using Handcent but don't like that the phone number doesn't show up with the name at the top...this means that I don't know whether I am texting my husbands work phone or home cell phone most of the time unless I look at the context of the previous texts.

Motorola Droid X :: Text Messaging To Multiple Recipients

Jun 22, 2011

my biggest complaint about Gingerbread reared it's ugly head this past weekend. The lack of "+" symbol in the "to" field of the stock text messaging app.

I wanted to text all of the people in my contacts list who are fathers, to wish them a happy father's day. Unfortunately, to address a text message to multiple recipients, I must remember every one of them, and type in their "letter" individually. I have to type in a letter, then pick one contact, then type in another letter, then pick another contact, then type in another, then pick...I'm sure you can see where this is going. And of course, once I thought I had gotten everybody and pressed "send", I then went into my contacts list and realized that I had forgotten several people, and had to do it all over again. Something that should have taken less than a minute instead took several minutes, and I'm sure I still likely forgot someone!!!

Just who's brilliant idea was it to remove the "+" symbol (that would open up the entire contact list for easy multiple picks) and replace it with the stupid "suggestion" arrow! They should be fired and shot...not necessarily in that order!

Motorola Droid 2 :: Text Messaging Crashes When Composing

Nov 4, 2011

I can type about two words when composing or responding to a text message and then it freezes and I get the force quit error message. I get the sense the phone is trying to do something else at the same time - like find my GPS. I killed and deleted a bunch of apps to see if that would work and it didn't. I was running Go SMS Pro, but went back to the factory app - and it's still a problem. I am still running Go Contacts and Go Dialer.

What is the size limitation for these attachments? I recorded a 23 second clip in MMS mode which totaled 368KB. It won't go. I had one rep. tell me the limit was 15 seconds regardless of size. I thought I had read on VZ site it was 500K but may have dreamed that.

Or is it neither size or length but something else? And finally is it the same for GMail?

Motorola Droid Bionic :: Text Messaging Fails With International Prefix?

Sep 23, 2011

This just started happening to me yesterday afternoon. All the sudden none of my messages would go out. I called Verizon in a panic. They opened a ticket. A while later I received a message from my sister and was able to respond back fine. Turns out the Motorola messaging app does not like international prefix in front of the number. Now i get to go through all my contacts and manually take out the +1. I tested this on my Bionic, Droid X2, and Droid 2 R2D2, all with the most current software release. OG droid still works fine, I'm guessing since it doesn't use the Motorola app. Also tested and am able to send messages fine with the +1 prefix on an iPhone and windows mobile confirming Verizon answer that it was a device issue when they called me back in regards to my ticket moments ago?

I am running the latest update 21.44.12. I am using Nova Launcher which is updated to the latest version. I don't use the camera much and find it quite annoying that when unlocking the phone the camera opens. Any setting that I can disable so that camera will not open??

Motorola Droid X :: Connected To WiFi Access Point But Fails After Some Time

Nov 7, 2011

This problem has persisted since day one with this phone, and has been an issue through all software updates. My phone is currently running the latest OTA software update from Verizon: 4.5.605.MB810.Verizon.en.us. The phone will connect to WiFi access points. It never seems to have trouble finding or negotiating a connection to a WiFi network. I can connect to open networks, WPA, WPA2, etc. I can connect to b/g/n no problem.

However, after using the network for a while, it always fails. The connection will suddenly stop working, and apps will start to claim that the network isn't available. The phone continues to think that it is connected to WiFi, but no data will flow. The only way to fix the problem is to disable to WiFi radio and turn it back on. The failure seems to be triggered by a volume of data. If I connect to a network and then don't download much, it seems to last longer (time-wise) than if I immediately start a download.

Different access points seem to trigger the problem sooner than others. I have a business-class HP Procurve 802.11n access point that will lock-up the phone almost immediately. I also have a consumer-grade Linksys 802.11g access point that will work for much longer, but still leads to failure. Suggestions to disable wifi encryption are NOT acceptable. Suggestions to disable wireless-N are NOT acceptable.

Nokia :: How To Disconnect WiFi Access Point To Use Messaging Program

May 21, 2010

I've installed Nokia Messaging and configured my e-mail account. Even though I think I set it up properly it just will not disconnect from my WiFi access point - even when the application is turned off and I manually close the internet connection it just keeps on reconnecting. I need an application I can use to check my email once or twice a week, not something that drains the hell out of my (already **bleep**) battery. Is there anything I can do, or should I replace Nokia Messaging with something else?

Motorola Atrix 4G :: All Images In Text Messaging Appear The Same?

Dec 12, 2011

I have my Atrix 4g with AT&T. I'm having a problem with text messaging. I'm not for certain (hadn't noticed), but I think my phone was not originally doing this and it started about a week after I got it.What happens is that all images I receive in MMS text messages, appear to be the same image. Say I received a picture of a dog from one contact. All future images received, from all contacts, appear as the exact same picture of the dog. However, if I hold my finger down on the image and select "view picture", the picture will display correctly. If I save it to my gallery, etc, it appears correctly. But it continues to display incorrectly in the text messaging conversation itself.I tried rebooting my phone, and all this did was update the "universal" image to the most recent image I received. All images were still displaying the same thing. I've also tried Googling this problem and haven't found anything about it so far.
