Now that I am able to power up, the droid x is locked in the camera settings page. Earlier this happened in the text messaging section. The 'home' button does not function at this moment either. Battery removal / reboot, seems to have no effect....
View 2 RepliesI had a perfectly functioning Bionic camera before ICS.During the ICS update (which was supposed to take 10 minutes!) the phone showed updating media database for over an hour and I did a battery pull to restart the phone since I needed it later that night. After a few reboots I could play music and see my camera gallery.Since ICS the camera app will stop working -- the screen goes dark but the camera won't load. It happens to FXCamera app and it happens if I call the camera via online banking to take a picture of a check. I can always access the gallery of pictures. If I clear the 8KB of data and the cache in the camera app and reboot I can then use the camera again. If I do a "fast reboot" or just clear data is still won't open. Only if data and cache are cleared then phone is rebooted. The camera will work fine, but hours or days later it will fail to open.

I wanted to text all of the people in my contacts list who are fathers, to wish them a happy father's day. Unfortunately, to address a text message to multiple recipients, I must remember every one of them, and type in their "letter" individually. I have to type in a letter, then pick one contact, then type in another letter, then pick another contact, then type in another, then pick...I'm sure you can see where this is going. And of course, once I thought I had gotten everybody and pressed "send", I then went into my contacts list and realized that I had forgotten several people, and had to do it all over again. Something that should have taken less than a minute instead took several minutes, and I'm sure I still likely forgot someone!!!
Just who's brilliant idea was it to remove the "+" symbol (that would open up the entire contact list for easy multiple picks) and replace it with the stupid "suggestion" arrow! They should be fired and shot...not necessarily in that order!
I can type about two words when composing or responding to a text message and then it freezes and I get the force quit error message. I get the sense the phone is trying to do something else at the same time - like find my GPS. I killed and deleted a bunch of apps to see if that would work and it didn't. I was running Go SMS Pro, but went back to the factory app - and it's still a problem. I am still running Go Contacts and Go Dialer.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI find that if I set the camera to HDR it stays there as long as I just open and close the camera. If I switch to video and back or switch from rear to front camera it no longer has the HDR setting I have to change it again. Same issue if I reboot. The setting does not want to stay on HDR.

Or is it neither size or length but something else? And finally is it the same for GMail?
Woke up this .morning and had 4 text messages but no notification in my status bar but just y.esterday it was working fine I could get text notification. I did everything reboot my phone cleared cache from recovery and nothing seems to work I checked my messaging settings and its checked for vibrate when receiving notifications but it don't vibrate or nothing. The phone vibrates when.I get a call or email but it don't vibrate when I receive a text
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening to me yesterday afternoon. All the sudden none of my messages would go out. I called Verizon in a panic. They opened a ticket. A while later I received a message from my sister and was able to respond back fine. Turns out the Motorola messaging app does not like international prefix in front of the number. Now i get to go through all my contacts and manually take out the +1. I tested this on my Bionic, Droid X2, and Droid 2 R2D2, all with the most current software release. OG droid still works fine, I'm guessing since it doesn't use the Motorola app. Also tested and am able to send messages fine with the +1 prefix on an iPhone and windows mobile confirming Verizon answer that it was a device issue when they called me back in regards to my ticket moments ago?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen recieving a new text message and tapping on the notification, the text messaging app always opens to a previous point in the conversation, several messages up from the latest text that I just recieved. This means that every time I get a new text, after opening up the text messaging app I have to scroll down to see what the latest message actually was.I am using SwfitKey (an altnernative keyboard) currently, but the issue happens with the standard keyboard as well. I figured it could be because swiftkey is popping up and blocking the bottom few messages, forcing me to scroll down to see them, but this does not appear to be the case, unless every keyboard is doing this.

View 1 Replies View Relatedboth my father and I are experiencing complete iPhone lookups when using Siri to create or respond to messages that come in. It is not completely consistent, but most often, if we receive a text or iMessage and attempt to "reply" via Siri, the phone locks up on the send portion. Siri goes through the prompts of what would you like to say, then reads the message back and prompts to send. When we reply to "send", Siri then states "Alright, I'll send the message, but the mic indicator keeps circling and the entire iPhone 4S locks up where only a hard reboot will clear it. This can happen when on the lock screen or home screen. This situation also happens when you ask Siri to generate a message, but typically not until a couple of messages have gone back and forth leveraging Siri then the phone again locks up on the "send" portion in the same way. Simply odd and frustrating behavior. There are a few times it will go through ok, but most often it will lock the phone up. That said, the dictation feature never hangs.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having real issues with my Droid Turbo. I can pair the phone fine with bluethooth fine to Ford Sync and it plays audio fine. The steering controls work fine too until the phone locks or sleeps. I tried many different music apps and every setting in the screen and security settings. It works fine when I swipe the phone to click the button to wake it up it works fine.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Droid 2 Global does this, too, so it doesn't seem to be specific to the D3, but if you've scrolled down a bit on a webpage, then you tap a link, the new page that you will navigate to will position itself approximately at the same position rather than starting you at the top.Give it a try on these forums. Go back to the topic list, scroll down a bit (maybe half way), then tap a link. More times than not, you will be placed roughly halfway down the new page, making you scroll up to read the page from the top.

I'm not for certain (hadn't noticed), but I think my phone was not originally doing this and it started about a week after I got it.What happens is that all images I receive in MMS text messages, appear to be the same image. Say I received a picture of a dog from one contact. All future images received, from all contacts, appear as the exact same picture of the dog. However, if I hold my finger down on the image and select "view picture", the picture will display correctly. If I save it to my gallery, etc, it appears correctly. But it continues to display incorrectly in the text messaging conversation itself.I tried rebooting my phone, and all this did was update the "universal" image to the most recent image I received. All images were still displaying the same thing. I've also tried Googling this problem and haven't found anything about it so far.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fing out what happened to the ability to select multiple contact to send or forward a text message or email by ticking the "head" icon, which brings up your phone contacts list and then checking off the contacts you want to send to. All I can see is you have to select them one at a time using auto complete in the "to" field. Is there a way to select them like we used to? If not, then when can I expect Moto to send an update that fixes this? This was an option on all previous Adroid releases, so why is not there now? I know I can create groups, but that is just ignorant, I dont send to the same people every time, so groups are a waste of time.

On the original I had the text message notification setup so that every time I received a text message the phone both vibrated and had a notification ringtone. It did this whether the phone ringtone was set to vibrate or sound. Now I cannot get the text message notification to both chime and vibrate when the phone is on vibrate.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an unusual issue I would like some assistance on since I just got a blackberry, I have the Curve 2 8530. I use Total Call Blocking with my carrier so that when I call anyone my number is automatically blocked / restricted. Therefore, in my contact list, I have my friends or family contacts listed with the *82 in front of the number to unblock for those people. This works fine for phone calls.
However, on Text Messaging / Picture Messaging, the *82 will cause these messages to fail. I am used to LG phones, you have the ability to edit the number while creating a message, before your send one of these messages. The problem I am having is when I send a Text Message / Picture Message it appears from the blackberry as only the 10 digit number (even though the contact has *82 in front of it)...and the message shows it is sent (with the check mark) but it NEVER received.
i already had a moto defy that could support delivery reports in text messaging,now im on Atrix, my device is international, but there was not any option to activate delivery reports on sms setting,so i installed sql editor from market & changed the value of "sms-mms-delivery-reports" from 0 to 1the option discovered in sms setting but it didnt work (attached photo)also i tested other apps like GoSmS & ... but they didnt work too,i've tested this method on froyo and also othet 2.3.4 roms based on 4.5.91 AT&T and 2.3.4ORFR, but nothing at all,why moto have missed this trivial option in a high end smartphone?this is critical for me & i dont want to sell my phone just for this, i love moto, i love my atrix, but what should i do?
