Occasionally, but more often lately, my Galaxy S5 on verizon has not been recieving texts from my friend with an iphone 6 on verizon. But don't tell me to check imessage settings or to delete messages/ her contact info then re-add it because I've already done all of these things. And by the way I've never owned an iphone.

View 2 Replies View RelatedA co worker of mine has a S6 and is having trouble with the screen randomly coming on and going off. As a result I think it's killing his battery. If I look at his battery stats the screen is sitting on 32%, Messenger is at 16% and Facebook is 13%. That's the three biggest readings and all others look normal. What's happening is that the screen will just pop on by itself, stay for 4 or 5 seconds, turn off for about 5 seconds, then come right back on and stay for 4 or 5 seconds. The cycle keeps repeating itself. He says that it will do this sometimes for 4 or 5 days in a row, then not do it for maybe close to a week, then it comes back.
I thought he might be getting some sort of reminder from something that is turning the screen on but then it doesn't make sense that it goes right back off again. Since it's not my phone I can't get any screen grabs or anything.
My Galaxy S6 has been great except for one huge problem I've noticed. Random text messages disappear. And they don't just disappear inconspicuously.. they disappear AS I'M READING THEM.
I will get a message, open up the messaging app, start reading it, get halfway through it, and BAM, the message vanishes and it never comes back.
Restarting the phone doesn't bring it back, it's just gone. I know that some messages disappear because I SEE them disappear, but what gets me is how many messages have a missed that have been sent, and my phone just makes them vanish before I read or even notice them?

I'm having the 'email' and 'sms' message constantly on my screen to indicate I have a new message- yet there is none. I've cleared my email and text inbox to try and help this, but the icons remain.

If that happens after the message is read and I return to the music the phone starts to play thru the speakers and the headphones.at the same time. There is a significant reduction in the volume thru the headphones but it still plays. I have tried different headphones and the problem persist over the podcast app as well.

I have tried a soft and hard reset, and I have just noticed that there is a firmware upgrade available. I am in the process of charging my battery.
Recently I have noticed that my g3 will randomly stop vibrating on tap (haptic feedback) and also at other times stop vibrating when New messages come in. I have already confirmed settings are set correctly and that the vibrate power is turned all the way up. If I soft reset the phone it fixes it. I am assuming this is a software problem bc it can vibrate so that's not hardware right? I have read that others have experienced it but not recently... I am not rooted and I am on a Verizon g3... I already hard reset the phone and it happened again...

I sent well wishes to people that night and received a barrage of responses about 8-12 hours later. Even when I text myself nothing happens. I've tried reflashing, playing with every setting I could and nothing.
The only way I can force them to me in is by dialing voicemail and texting myself while the call is active. THEN it works. I get my text immediately and whatever's been waiting in queue.
As I was talking on my relatively new Bold 9700 it just completely died! The battery was charged but the screen and everything just went black. It will not power on. I have removed the battery and put it back in and the only response to that it the red LED light coming on for a few minutes then coming off.

When it starts doing it, it will delete messages before I even have a chance to recieve them, or read them. It will also freeze up while loading some applications.I've checked my memory and it says I have 11379836 bytes free. I have a memory card so the only things saved on the phone are the defaults and one picture. The only way to fix the messages thing is to take the battery out for a few minutes but it ends up doing it four or five times within a day.

I know for sure there was a full sentence before the "it" (saw it on the sender's phone), and that didn't include any weird character/emoji.
My phone's a Moto X 2nd gen (bought on november 2014) running Android 5.0 (lollipop). My carrier's T-Mobile.
Having a strange issue where the phone won't power off using the physical power button, the camera keeps coming up, and the phone gets really hot.
Did the soft reset by holding power + volume down for 7 seconds and had it restart, power off, and safe restart, all of which I was able to do successfully, but each time the phone has the same issue when it boots back up.
I don't want to hard reset and lose my layout.
