My Blackberry Bold 9900 is running OS 7.0 and i've tried updating it through the blackberry site and the blackberry desktop manager and both say I'm running the most up-to-date version. Is there anything I can do to update to OS7.1?
I have updated in the past and all was fine but 2 days ago i tried to back up and update using the BlackBerry desktop software and it gets about halfway through (to backing up sms messages) then it stops.
I have checked the topic for the OS for my Bold 9900, but unfortunately, my provider is not listed there (klarmobil in Germany). The current OS on it is 7.0.0.100 from Mail 2011. How can I get it updated?
My device got bricked from updating. Got stuck at "Connecting to boot ROM". Device died, does not respond to anything, device manager says to change settings in computer control panel, followed the steps. Connecting and reconnecting device doesnt do anything, battery pull doesnt do anything, device manager can wake up the phone.
While I've seen the release of the software online, my software update shows the message: "your blackberry is up to date" while my software version is 7.0.0 bundle 1346. I have sent the device to the dealer, tried online solutions and couldn't do it. The bizarre thing is that others having the same device are able to update to 7.1 while I can't.
updating of software, tried to update my software for my BB9900 and it hangs at the restore area where it says Database: Handheld key store. What do I do? I'm not sure if I should plug it out.
Update for new OS has frozen it has done this once, so I unplugged it after 5 hours and lost all my contacts it has done it again now on messages I do not want to lose those as well anyway of making it get going again?
I got an update for my 9900 but when 'backing up your data' my phone has froze on backing up social feeds at 7% and has been like this for about 6 hours!
Last night I setup my phone to perform the new software update as I went to bed so that it would do it overnight. This morning? App error 602 and 603 with a white screen of death. When I turn the phone on it says backing up data (which I'm pretty sure it did completely last night), and it does not go progress... almost like there is no data to backup. I can't restore to factory defaults and I can't connect to the Desktop Manager for any period of time. I can't think of anything that I could do unless there was a way to restore the phone to factory defaults without the phone being turned on.

My wife has a Rogers Bold 9900 running version 7.0.0.261.She has tried to change her BBM status picture and her Blackberry shows the changed picture. However, none of her BBM contacts can see the changed picture. Her BBM version is 6.0.0.129.We have tried waiting for several days, soft resets, battery pulls, deleting BBM contacts and replacing them. She is a new Blackberry owner and has only 12 BBM contacts, none of which can see her updated status pictures. They can only see the BBM status picture she initially saved when she first started BBM.Interestingly enough, the text of her status messages are viewable as she changes the text. it is only the picture that won't update on her contacts BBM.
My phone automatically started to update itself at 12pm today, it froze on 14%, after 2 hours i took out the battery and the sim and tried to reboot my phone, once the phone turned back on it went straight back onto the software update. it has now been frozen on 14% for 4 hours and i am really unhappy!
my blackberry bold 9900 appears to be frozen I assume as I started doing the software update since 2pm today and yet its still not finished? It has been 8hours now. It seems to have frozen on 14%. Now I have tried rebooting my phone many times but it keeps on taking me back to the software update page. I am currently unable to access anything on my blackberry device.
I updated the OS on my Bold 9900 to 7.1 Bundle 1149 (v.7.1.0.342 Platform 5.1.0.276) and it's now extremely slow. The phone does not react quickly and it takes up to an hour to restart after battery pull.
Yesterday I updated by 9900 to 7.1.0 bundle 1149. I'm on Vodafone UK.
Since doing so the Map icon has dissapeared from my phone and on searching can't be found anywhere. When I look in my applications (installed and de-installed) it isn't there either. I've looked on app world to see if I could find it there to re-download, but can't find it there either.
i can't update my BB sofware with PC (my BB won't connect to BB desktop software - i checked every posibility to connect (USB, Windows) - and i want to update my software using wireless.
my software version: v7.0.0.296, Platform 5.0.0.496)
Tried running the new software update and all seemed to go fine at first, but now the 'overall backup progress' bar has been dead at 9% for a while and the 'social feeds' above has been stuck on 0% for the same amount of time. Ive tried rebooting but whenever i do this, the update starts up again and gets to the same point before stopping again.
I have upgrade my bbm to a new version. But I have trouble here. My display picture can't update, so all my friends can't see my picture (just blank like no photos). I use blackberry bold 9900 with OS 7.1Blackberry Messenger Version 6.2.0.56Country IndonesianBBM also can't connect to BBM connect like facebook, etc. It must failed when step 2 verifying to bbm. P
I get following error message whenever I try to update software of my device the application "help" cannot be loaded, because it requires following applications that are not available:net.rim.java.browser?
After doing the upgrade this week, I notice there are some glitches. I can no longer send a photo to a BBM contact directly - Send to BBM group is an option, not BBM contact. I can attach a picture from BBM, but with small thumbnails it can be difficult.
Some of my apps like Popup, no longer work. Might be more..just slowly trying them out.
I did an update on my BB (worst decision ever) and now it is frozen on social feeds. The overall backup progress is at 6% and will not move at all. This is my business phone and it needs to work ASAP.I'm completely annoyed (though not surprised) that this has happened. The phone will not connect to the computer so I'm basically stuck with whatever I can do via the phone. I've removed the battery three times already and the same thing happens.
So I am trying to update my bold through blackberry desktop manager and it has been stuck on the instal phase model 656 of 888. It also says that I can not unplug it mid instal or my phone will become unusable. I am truly stuck here and do not know what to do. I need to unplug my phone. I am fine operating it on the old software but I am just scared that if i unplug it my phone will be fried.
I have a Bold 9900 on Orange, and attempted to update to OS 7.0.1 from (I think) 7.0.0 using a wifi connection as opposed to using Blackberry Desktop Software. However, I encountered a problem which I have heard many others have had, when the update got stuck on 'social feeds' and would not move from 8%. I did a soft reset (alt + right shift +del) and a white screen came up, saying to press any key to revert back to the old software. I did this, but now whenever I turn phone on, either through battery pull or soft reset, I get a frozen home screen. I have attempted to start the device in safe mode, and when I do I get a 'recovering your settings' screen similar to the update progress screen, but this too is frozen. I am continuing to reset the phone but am having no success.
Did a software update this morning on my Bold 9900. When I went to Sync, I received a Synchronization Error message as it was synching the calendar. There was no number only an appointment date and event which does not exist in either Outlook 2010 or the Blackberry calendar. Upon receiving the error message, the synch stops. I did a replace all calendar events from the computer to the device, which went fine. But the problem was not resolved. I deleted all calendar events from the device, then did a replace all calendar events from the computer to the device, but that did not solve the problem.
When I connected the phone to the PC it came up with the do you want to upgrade which I did, but now the phone does not ring. when I go to profiles and look at the settings its all ok click a tune or ringtone and click try it it vibrates but no sound. I have tried several ways but none of them fix it, all I do is take out battery and re start and it works fine, but only a few hours. when the sound has gone again and I only know when I miss a call I restart the phone and its ok again. So far I have restarted 3 times today. Its a bold 9900
I am trying to find out why the Desktop Software is recommending me to update my OS7 version, and also to downgrade my BBM software. Whenever I go to Device->Software Updates on the phone, it says my Blackberry is upto date (7.0 Bundle 1315). And I already installed the new BBM update a few weeks ago(version 6.0.0.129). Note my carrier is T-Mobile. Can anyone inform me why I get update recommendations on the Desktop program and not the phone?
I just updated my 9900 to bundle 1672 from 14xx which came factory installed using the desktop manager. This resulted in the loss of ALL third party apps and some BB apps! Of course, as recommended I did a backup before the update and the desktop manager restored from the backup. Despite this, none of my apps followed.
Lost App World and the compass app. The compass app I can't find again. App World was an easy fix through BB's website. Once I got App World I could download all the apps I have bought from My World. However, some of them require registration (haven't heard back from these companies yet) and I lost all my entries and settings in these apps!
I lost all third party apps that came pre-installed that I haven't downloaded from App World, like Wikitude, Facebook, Google Talk, MSN, and so on.Has this happened to anyone else? Why did this happen? Shouldn't backups also back up all the apps? What went wrong??
