My spacebar key is no longer working, I have stripped it down and cleaned it, and reinstalled the OS, but it is definitely dead.Can I program say <sym> another key to map another key?Otherwise it will be a bin job and off to Samsung.

Normally if i touch the left arrow under and then spacebar u get the search lamp with more symbols now i have to touch them at the same time. whats wrong? if i do the arrow first and 1 sec later the spacebar is doenst work, then got a space. So the Spacebar( more symbols ) only work if u touch them at the same time.( leftunder arrow and spacebar )
View 4 Replies View RelatedSpace bar problem does not end with stop working here and there, my brother has a E71 and he can use space bar in home screen for searching the contact names, which makes it much much easier but in E72 u can't use it because it becomes Symbol botton instead "WEIRD"
example: if you have a name like: Megan Fox (YOU WISH) - in E71 write " m (space) f" and there you go buy with E72 if you hit space bar the Symbol block pups up " WEIRD " so you only can search eather first or last name "BAD"...i tested this on few E72s (i made sure it's not only mine)DO SOMETHING Nokia !! we (Nokia fans) are getting beat up, it's been so long and E72 really needs an UPDATE!!!!!
Just ran into a different flavor of a bug described here fairly often... instead of my spacebar getting stuck on, and giving me lots of spaces, it stopped responding altogether. Anyone else ever seen this? It was fixed only after a phone reboot.

View 14 Replies View RelatedMy phone told me i had to update it to new software.So I connected it to my computer (running win7).I started the nokia phone update software, which correctly identified my phone etc. It told me it was normal it could say the phone got disconnected.After a few minutes, it told me my phone was disconnected and I had to unplug it, unplug battery, put everything back in and press power for 1 second to resume updating. That doesn't workHard resetting with shift + space + backspace also doesn't work. The phone vibrates for a second and does nothing. I do see a little red light inside the navi-pad.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI washed my iPhone 4s last week. I just got my replacement phone. I want to restore from iCloud (for my calendar) and iTunes (for everthing else like contacts, etc.) but when I try to do that it says I have to turn off "find my phone" from my old iPhone. My old phone's display is dead so I can't do anything on it. It still rings when I get a call but I can't answer it.

Recently I have found that my touchscreen as been encountering some problems. First of all it very often freezes and the touchscreen wont respond and if it does it lags behind. But the most annoying thing is the problem I have with the keypad. Whenever I am sending a message, whether that be Facebook or a text using the keypad the line of keys that the space is on will not work. Every other key will work except for that one line.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated my X6 thorugh NSU. Now the issue I am facing is the touch screen not working properly. Especially, the onscreen button nears edges are not pressed when I try to touch them. For example, if I select Full QWERTY keyboard in messaging, I cannot press spacebar and the entire line. When I try to touch these buttons at the bottom, the line above is pressed.
Looks like some error in screen calibration. But there is not option for calibration in X6 ( being a capacitive touch screen). What should I do now, please help? I hope its just a firmware issue since everything was working correctly on version 10 firmware. Is there any solution to fix the issue?

Tried all the tricks I know but nothing works. Only the Apple icon will appear on the screen for about 20 seconds. ITunes does not detect the phone so I can not reset/restore it.If I try to recharge it, no battery icon appears.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was recently on a trip and went swimming with my phone.  The covers were all closed and about 2 minutes in to my swim the the camera stopped working.  The battery (which was fully charged) died within a couple hours after the camera stopped functioning.  I tried plugging it into the charger and the charging screen came on for a minute and then dissapeared.  It did not charge and since then the phone is dead.  I currently have my phone in rice hoping that  out any moisture that got in.

I've had my Z2 for about three months and haven't had any problems so far. I was using it today for normal things. Texts, calls, facebook, nothing too heavy. The battery was at about 65%l. I took the phone out of my pocket, hit the power/lock button, and nothing happened. I tried double tapping the screen, holding the power button down for a loooong time, plugging it in. Everything.

By that I mean it turns on and works in that sense, but none of the buttons do, so I cannot get it out of standby/sleep mode. I can still back everything up, but cannot figure out a way to get to the contacts. Even syncing with DM will seemingly not allow me to lift the contacts from the phone onto my computer, only to sync with Addressbook.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had an N97 for 5 months, yesterday my battery drained completely, a normal drained, I didn't try to turn it on. I connected the charger to the phone and the white screen with nokia came up (first the white screen, then the blue nokia word). The usual symbol for the battery didn't show up. I left it like that, thinking it was charging. Then, I tried to turn on the phone but it didn't turn on, it stayed with the white nokia screen. I tried taking the battery off and putting it again and the same happened, checked the battery with a firend, it actually charged to 6 bars, but my phone won't start (also, tested with my friend's N97 battery). Connecting to PC has the same problem, the Pc doesn't realize something is connected.
Tried to leave it alone for without touching, and waiting hours for the white nokia screen to go away but nothing happens.
Background:Bought a bold 9000 the day it was released in Canada. Worked perfectly, maybe dropped it a few times but everything was working. Recently I upgraded to the 9700 and sent my brother my 9000.He had it for a week with Telus (originally on Rogers, and unlocked). He then dropped it off his bed onto a hardwood floor (not very high). Since then it would not turn on, no red LED or anything.I went over all the common steps to getting it working:
-Battery pull
-Take out Sim Card, and battery
-Try connecting to wall charger or pc with and without battery
-Basically everything listed in other posts with the same problem
So the above steps (search for details on them) work for some people, and not for others.So it was dead, he mailed it back to me to try and fix. I tried all the common solutions again with no luck.Then I decided to try something else.How I fixed it:You know when your computer is screwed up, and someone suggests to reset the bios settings? All computers have a little backup battery to keep your settings, and keep the clock running on your computer. So even when it is unplugged from the wall and you turn it back on the time is right.Well the 9000 has a similar battery, I am not 100% sure what it is used for but removing it completely solved my problem. I know it is used to keep the time when the main battery is removed - what else i'm not sure.. Mine seems to work fine with it removed. It does not reset any other data it seems, all contacts, email themes and everything are still intact.Once this battery was removed, I put the battery back in and everything works perfectly now! The only issue I have noticed is that the time does not advance once the battery is removed.. Since my brother always has his phone on, and it updates the time from the network there is no big problem with this. -Again, the time works perfectly as long as the main battery is in.Here are the steps, you don't even need to dissassemble the blackberry:
1 - Remove the black plastic sticker on the back
2 - using a small screwdriver (or better yet, soldering iron) remove the small circular battery from the PCB.
3 - put battery back in and pray

I suggest this only as a LAST resort on phones that are not under warranty anymore. I will not be blamed for anyone breaking their phone (more?).
A few days ago my phone stopped working. It wouldn't switch on, there was no red light, but e battery worked in friends phone so that isn't the problem. All I want is for the phone to switch on, even if it has no contacts etc and is just like it when you get it for the first time.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry torch seems to be a bit faulty in some way at the min , I've recently purchased several batteries for the phone, all of which working perfectly when I leave the shop, when home I charge them up to full and use it as normal no problems. I continue to use the phone until it completely runs out of charge but when it comes to charging it again it shows a battery with a Red Cross through it and after reading other comments of just leaving it to charge I did that but nothing happened so went back to the shop they tested the battery only to find it completely unuseable and me having to buy a new one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk today my phone was sitting on my desk not being used at all. I hadn't used it in about 30 min before that and battery was at 75%. So i was sitting there and the screen turns on by itself I thought ok phone call or text. I try to unlock the screen I noticed there was no signal bars red x and screen would not unlock it was frozen then about 5 seconds the phone turns off.

Now it will not power on and I have tried 3 known good chargers but the led in the top flashes red. If I press power down button led stays solid red as long as I hold power button on when on charger. If I unplug from charger power button does nothing not even power + down or up volume. I even tried little yellow reset button next to sim card nothing. Is my 4 month old phone shot? The sony companion app on pc does not find phone either this blows.
