Ever since this morning my Blackberry 9300 hasn't received any mail. I have two accounts set up on it, a Gmail account and my work webmail account. If I try to go into the email settings, I get message: 'connecting to email settings' and an hour glass and eventually 'your device has a problem connecting to the server'.
I have tried on both the WIFI at work and the Virgin Media mobile network.
I inherited a blackberry from a relative and can use it for phone calls, texts, address book, etc. I would like to reconfigure the setting for email and cannot find the steps to do that. It is currently configured for Blackberry Enterprise, and I would like to change it to Microsoft Outlook.
My ex 9550 (which had this problem when i had it, and now went to my brother), gives me the error from the title. its a verizon unlocked storm 2, on a GSM argentinian carrier.
I guess its the exact same thing as: http://forums.crackberry.com/showthr...51#post4611751
I post this here just in case the CDMA phone has some extra weird thing..
This happened on .320, hybrids older than .428, and now on current hybrids
If there is a better place to post these 2 as one thread.
Just recently I have had a problem with being able to edit my email settings, when I go to main menu > set up > Email accounts it comes up with a username and password. I assume the username that it is requesting would be an email address so I've tried all of mine and all of my passwords in the box, it doesn't seem to be accepting any of them. Also according to my service provider and my sisters blackberry it's not supposed to be requesting any type of username or password there. I have three email accounts: Google mail, Window's live mail and my blackberry email account. My service provider is 3 UK.
I baught the phones used from ebay. One of the phones is working fine. The other phone is not connecting to the 3G network. It is not even showing the 3G network when I manually search networks. I want it to connect to the 3G network because WIND only uses 3G.
Both are running the same( latest )OS version. I have switched sim cards(to no avail) and I have tried to restore it to factory settings using the wipe feature in the security settings(nothing)Both phones are next to each other. One is showing 3G the other is showing 2G (same carrier).
My BB torch is not connecting to the Blackberry infrastructure, which mean im not receiving any emails, or BB messages. i have only have the phone for a week now and this should not be happening. is there anything i can do to alter this or does it need to be taken back?
I am having a problem connecting my blackberry phone to a wireless network. Whats happening is that it connects and gets an IP address from the wireless router, but when I try send an email it says the phone is not connected. Everthing works fine when using the cellular service provider but when I switch the mobile network off and wireless on, I have an issue. If I do a wireless diagnostics i get the following
In the "message settings' option menu, "e-mail settings" isn't available. I have managed to set up several email accounts by simply going into the 'email" option in the "messaging" menu, but I can't set the phone to check for emails automatically or to notify me of new emails, etc, etc, in other words, I have no menu option, for adjusting the settings for emails. I am running the latest version of the software

My blackberry (9700 Bold OS6) stopped receiving emails from one of my gmail accounts. Sending a message as following:Your gmail email messages are not being delivered to your BlackBerry® device. To receive your email messages, turn on the IMAP setting for All Mail in your murat account. After you turn on the IMAP setting for All Mail, you must validate your account on your BlackBerry device. 1. Click the Setup folder (if available), then click the Email Settings or Setup Internet Email* icon. 2. Click Email Accounts. 3. Validate your murat email account. The other email accounts on your BlackBerry device are not affected.
Problem is that the IMAP setttings for this account is ok. I also have another gmail account with the same settings and that is functioning very well. I also have Mail receiving programs on my computer which are receiving well all the mail via IMAP settings. So the problem is not the a settings problem but a blackberry's receiving problem.I tried validate the email address by writing my password, it validates but immediatly I receive a new message same as above. I also tried:
- cancelling and re-adding the gmail account (via internet site and also via phone) - changing the password an retry validating - cancelling service books - formatting the blackberry and reinstallling the software
but none of these methods worked, everytime I received the same error message, whatever I tried to do.I called my operator, he couldn't resolve neither the problem, I even gave him my gmail account password to him so he can validate it in their servers, or so he can check my gmail settings, but everything looks normal.
I'm trying to reactivate my old BB 7100 as a second phone. I need to erase huge amounts of current info contained on it - how do I restore to factory settings on this model?
I basically got an unlocked Torch with no network identifiers whatsoever and because I've got a 3 UK SIM, I'm hoping to configure my unlocked Torch to access the services available to my current phone. I've got information on the settings that need to be input into the phone, but not sure how to get it onto the phone? If anybody can guide me in the right direction.
I have recently acquired an 8820 but I cant remove the security settings. I currntly have no access to a PC to connect the device to. is there a way of removing the settings?
I have a problem with my BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have BES and working well but no browsing even thru Wireless I cannot open any site. I have checked each and every option but the result is the same. It seems that I have done something wrong and unlikely put some option on/off. To make the life easy, it is better to make it as factory setting or format it completely but I don't know the command or option to do it.
I have a device that was previously for my corp/enterprise environment...they upgrades us and let us keep the old devices. I'm trying to wipe the IT policy (it's a bank, they lock BBs down with manacles and three-headed dogs) so my daughter can use it, but it keeps failing when I use BB Desktop's "Reset to Factory Settings" option:An Error Occurred While Resetting to Factory Settings"
I am new the blackberry and I have a Tour. I have tried to set up the notification settings such that the email is silent and the phone calls are on vibrate- is there a way to do that?
I am trying to change my email settings as i changed my email account. When i go to "Setup", "Email Accounts", then click on "Internet Mail Account", it simply circulates back to "Email Accounts". It keeps doing this repeatedly. I have done a soft and hard reset (by removing battery) and have updated software but nothing seems to help.

A friend gave me their old Blackberry but it was used for his work email and was set up with a password just to access the phone. He doesn't remember the password. I put a new sim card in, but is still asking for the password. We tried 4 different ones. On the 5th it warns you that your program will be deleted. We haven't tried the 5th password. It we do will it erase information in the sim card?
Is there a way to clear everything out of memory and reset the Blackberry to it original defalut settings.I tried pulling out the battery with the phone on, but that doesn't do any good.
I have been a Blackberry fan for years and have setup countless Blackberry's for friends. I recently changed jobs and therefore, had to change my email settings, to receive work emails on my Blackberry Torch. I emailed our hosting company and asked for the settings to setup my phone, I received this response: (have blanked out my details for security reasons)To setup the email account on your BlackBerry device you will need the following information Email address: ********@******.co.zausername: ********Password: ********Incoming mail server: The incoming mail server is tricky as your organisation doesn't have a static IP address. For now try IP Address: **.***.***.***I have tried these settings as well as the settings in my Outlook account settings folder (the incoming server on my Outlook is a local IP Address, to the server in our office)None of which have worked. I have contacted both our hosting company and Vodacom (my BB service provider) neither are able to assist me? Even my husband (who is an IT specialist has tried, with no luck) I then tried to use the BIS html option to find my settings, but for some reason Vodacom does not allow this, I received this error message when trying to logon/register: Your account is not accessible via HTML browser. Please use your device to access BlackBerry Internet Service.
