Jan 21, 2010I am having a huge issues with my e-mail/internet and text messaging capabilities with my tour plus the phone constantly shuts off. I am on my 3rd tour (2nd replacement phone). This issue started about 4-6 weeks ago w/my first tour, it was replaced then the second one started randomly shutting off, then I am now on tour #3 and am having major issues:I'm not able to get a signal to receive phone calls, text messages or e-mails and today while I was at work (same spot for the last 6 months -- haven't moved and never had an internet/signal problem before) when I got out of work I had 18 e-mails, 16 text messages, 2 missed calls and my battery was practically drained and dying (which by the way under mobile connections and mobile network if I put it on 1VEX it can never find a signal or is always searching for a signal whereas if I put it as Global it can find a signal).I got this phone because I'm an avid overseas traveler and I need a phone w/me when I leave however this is causing a lot of frustration and annoyance.I've done everything to all devices:hard pull, complete hard drive wipe, updated service books, turned mobile networks on and off, made sure I had the most up-to-date software available NOTHING works.any suggestions?

Apr 3, 2010I'm about to lose it completely with this error. I've tried so many "fixes" but none of them work. Here's my problem:
My phone loads up and:
I get an old background I've never used
I cannot make a call
I cannot open my email
I cannot open my text
I cannot open my voicemail
I cannot open my browser
All attempts to do so freeze my phone and result in the unhappy "App Error 523" with the only option to reset.
It gets better...
Battery Pulls do nothing.
All attempts to connect to my PC result in the unhappy error.
All attempts to do a diagnosis result in the unhappy error.
I really have no idea what to do and all technical support from blackberry leads to dead ends and no result.
BB Tour 9630 :: Error 503 Reset
Jan 31, 2010Pioneer Tour 9630 I cannot get into the phone for any OS Version, I assume it is relatively current as the phone is less than two months old.
A battery pull did not fix the issue
The apps I loaded were google earth, a GPS Navigation system, ESPN, and weather.
All my phone will do is show a white screen with Error 503 Reset. I have tried taking the battery out and that did not work. All it get is a white screen with a little timer in the middle for 3 or 4 minutes.
It will not connect or do anything with the desktop manager. I have tried the launcher to get it connected, but to no avail.
BB Tour 9630 :: Cant Get Itunes To Sync On Phone
Feb 24, 2010Ok Ive had my sprint Tour for about 3 weeks now here are some little things that make me wanna take it back and try the Samsung Monent instead. now keep in mind my first bb was the nextel 8350i.
1. media issue. i cannot get my itunes library to sync using the media sync.this was never an issue on my old bb. I've everything no go.
2. i've updated my phone to the no os 5.0.484 and still very buggie.
3. the 3g isn't very fast now it is a major upgrade from my 1/2 g with nextel.
4. It finally seems to me that owning a blackberry is like owning a microsoft pc you always have to updaye just to keep it running right

Mar 13, 2010Is there a way to automatically sync my time? My BlackBerry gains about 20 seconds per day. If I switch my connection from Verizon to BlackBerry or viceversa It corrects itself but then starts to gain time again.

May 2, 2010My schools email server went down the other day, and now it is back up. Between the process of it going down, i was no longer revieving emails on my phone, so I deleted the account in hopes to simply re-add it and be back in business.Now that I deleted it, im not able to re-add it. Go figure. Im putting my account and password in correctly, and usually it would just load onto my phone. Say I were to restore a prior backup when the email was working, will it be all set?What the heck am i missing this time?

May 19, 2010I swear that as soon as the new Windows 7 Series phones come out, I am smashing the BB Tour.I have had this phone for about 8 months or so. I have a paid MSN email address. I use Outlook on my PC and need Outlook Connector to sync it (Outlook) to my email, contacts, and calendar.(that's a whole different rant there- why do I need special software to use a MS email account when it (Outlook) doesn't need it for gmail, yahoo, or another?)For whatever reason, the Tour will not sync ANYTHING with Outlook. The (**bleep**)Desktop Manager is no help as it doesn't recognize ANYTHING from Outlook- not email, not calendar, not contacts, etc.I am under the impression that somehow Outlook Connector messes things up. Fine. Whatever. I setup a MS Exchange email account and got it up and running, both on the PC and on the phone.Still nothing works. Oh sure my emails come through, but that's it. my contacts list doesn't sync, my calendar has zero events/tasks/appointments on it (it does but the phone doesn't think so). Hell, when I am in the calendar, the ability to wirelessly sync is grayed out.When I installed the DM, I selected the option to use a personal email address and that doesn't work. So I uninstalled and reinstalled and chose a work email address, but of course, no one tells you how to activate the damned phone to do this. And what's more, when the DM starts, it keeps reporting:"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."Well guess what? Outlook IS the default email client.Of course, RIM blames Verizon, who blames, MS, who blames the others. We all know how it is.

Feb 14, 2010I have a MacBook and I haven't really done anything that could cause this problem. I removed the AP News program and on the next reboot, it comes up with the error screen that says Reload Software 552. I didn't back up anything because I didn't even foresee this coming. I'm reading that I have to completely reinstall the OS again, and I've also read that I can go into my Blackberry on my computer and remove the newly installed(and in this case, uninstalled) application. I'm not currently home so I can't try this but I'm wondering if anyone has other solutions. This is super weird because I had a dream I jumped into a pool with my phone last night and it broke.

Apr 5, 2010Since upating the software on my BB Tour 9630, I am often unable to click on links and web buttons in the browser (or during games like the pre-installed Texas Hold Em poker). Often I'll have to click a link/button 2 or 3 times (or I'll need to click "menu" then "open link" while the cursor is on the link). This is NOT problem with the roller ball it's the software and I never experienced this prior to the update. I've read suggestions on other boards to remove the battery for 30 seconds and then re-install it, but that hasn't help.

Mar 1, 2010I am running v5.0.0.419 on Verizon. Never had any issues until this weekend when I can suddenly not connect to any web pages. I always get the "HTTP Error 400: Bad Request" dialog. And under the details "Connection refused". Not sure what to try other than several battery pulls, etc. Again, never had any issues until a few days ago havent loaded any new apps, etc.

Jan 21, 2010I was wondering if anybody else has had this problem.....every time I reboot my phone, I get this message "Application_net_rim_bb_phone_app(47) is not responding. I am on sprint and running .419. I can make phone calls and everything, but just curious what that error message means.
Also, I am no longer getting MMS messages with this update, everything comes through as a SMS, and I have to use that dreaded sprint picture mail to see the message. In which the message never comes out clear.....

Feb 9, 2010My blackberry is setup with microsoft exchange email. All was working well until I upgraded to the Blackberry Tour.
Here is my problem:
Sometimes, but not everytime, when I try to REPLY to an email I receive an error message which says that the email contains an invalid email address. I have scrolled through all the email addresses contained in the reply and can confirm that they are in fact valid email addresses.
Things I have tried:
Battery pull
Renaming my own contact name
Eliminating custom email "aliases"
BB Tour 9630 :: HTML Email Viewing Error After Downloading OS 5.0?
Apr 6, 2010I upgraded my Tour (Verizon) last week to OS 5.0. Since the upgrade I have been unable to view HTML emails. The body of the email provides the text/link to the images along with a lot of text I do not understand. I don't even get the links to "get image" or "view image on a web page". I made sure the settings were correct (i.e. enable HTML email, download images automatically) and the issue persisted. Battery pull did not work, deleting and resending service books did not work. Through searches on this forum and others it appears that this is not an isolated problem.Is there a fix that I am not aware of? I am close to wiping the phone clean and going back to OS 4.7, but I like all other features that came with 5.0.

Jun 20, 2010I have a Tour & did an OS upgrade through Wireless Update. I had 3 folders in Contacts(top of each contact had three different sync references). Looks like there is 2 of the folders and missing one. How can I set up Blackberry Desktop to sync with one of the missing folders and just get the contacts that that folder or "sync" description?I guess I need to know where and how to find the one folder as well.I do not know if folder is right term. On my contacts the top says "Synchronize Using: Unknown" or Synchronize Using: Desktop". I know there was a third and can not remember the heading.I just need those contacts in that sync.Hopefully I am communicating this correctly.

May 3, 2010Ever since I activated BES (so that I could sync email/calendar with my company's MS Exchange server), I have been experiencing a couple of email-related issues that I did not have previously:
1)When composing a new email or trying to add another contact to an existing email, when I type in the name of the person, the email address auto-complete function does not work. It does work when I am sending SMS, MMS, and searching through my Phone Book, but does not work in email for some reason. Even if I manually type in the correct email address, I do not have a option for the email. I can only reply to email or go through the Phone Book and selection the phonebook entry. I have done the phone book quickfix several times without any success.
2)My calendar events are not showing up in my BES email folder both sent or received calendar notices do not show up for some reason. I have re-sent the Service Books from BES a couple of times to no avail.
