I had to wipe my Blackberry because of a camera problem. I had everything backed up in Blackberry Desktop Manager. None of my emails or MMS's were restored when I connected my Blackberry again to restore all of the data.
View 3 RepliesWhen i delete an email on my blackberry in my gmail account - it does not matter whether i choose 'on mailbox and handheld' or 'on handheld' - the email does not delete itself. It is still sitting there in my list of emails but now it says (0 Items) in the header and has one of the gold stars next to it (the kind you usually select to add when an email is important) and i can no longer open the email.I have tried everything in the options menu including:-Trying to delete the message again- Remove star- Move to inbox-Reconcile nowbut nothing happens. View 2 Replies View RelatedSince late September, most of my gmail personal email messsages cannot be deleted. Can see no logic to those that do delete. No problems for two previous years and no problem with the business emails under separate name. Have verified they are not saved. Have tried usual processes, one by one delete, all prior delete, etc. Can delete on computer, but still appear on the Blackberry. (Tour 9630/no new apps or downloads during this time/ pretty basic phone and email usage, and no prior problems relating to this issue.) Have already checked prior entries on this forum. Either not applicable, or had no impact on the problem.
View 3 Replies View Relatedmy mom gave me her blackberry tour when she upgraded and I had it unlocked.so I could use it for my move to Dubai.In Canada, I was able to use voice, SMS, access email and BBM via FIDO.I could not see any internet icon so I didn't have any data plans.It was all pre-paid.I had a TOUR from work previously and was able to access voice, SMS, internet, BBM....is this the difference between blackberry enterprise (which I assume is available only for businesses) vs the Blackberry Services (Email or Social Networking) for personal use? When I moved to Dubai, I pulled the FIDO sim card and obtained a du sim card (yes "du").I then paid for and activated my blackberry services (email / BBM) however when I tried to set up my email account, I got a "Your device had a problem connecting to the server" error.I tried pulling the battery, registering through Advanced Option, Host Routing, registering online at du.blackberry.com and when I try to register there, I get the message that says my device cannot be registered and to try and register through advanced options and if that doesn't work contact my wireless provider.
Someone from their technical support got back to me and said that my blackberry service is associated with my previous wireless provider (FIDO) and that I had to call FIDO to get the PIN released.I did that and FIDO said it was released.I've tried repeating the previous steps for registering / setting up email and I'm still getting the same errors. Initially when I got the du sim card, they activated a blackberry social account for me and this was not what I wanted so they deactivated it.I wonder if somehow my device is actually registered with du, but on the wrong plan.so this is why I can't access the email / bbm service.
Searched around for a bit, and most threads on this topic seem to be related to using BES.I had a Curve up until last week. When I delete messages in Outlook on my PC (standard POP mailbox, not Exchange), they would usually disappear from my BB within 30 minutes. Now I upgraded to a Tour last week and this is not happening, I have to delete in both places. I'm sure it is just a simple setting I am missing but can't find where it should be. I do have the reconciliation: on conflicts: set to Mailbox wins.
Other then this, really enjoying the Tour. I'll be going overseas next month so we'll see how well Verizon handles that.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI spent 4 hours on the phone today with Verizon trying to figure out why only certain emails come to my device. I've updated the service books, tables, deleted my email account, created a new one, books and tables again, pulled the battery, everything. Nothing seems to work.I was getting all my emails last week and over the weekend I've just started to get only a few (call it 2/7 on average). Can anyone help me with what is going on?! This is very frustrating and the Verizon guys are about as helpful as rocks.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI'm using BIS and within the last couple of months emails have started disappearing off of my blackberry handest. They usually disappear within about 45 minutes of receiving them. I've done a hard reset and I have about 160 MB of memory free but it still keeps happening. I use Outlook to check my email but this happens even if my computer is off so Outlook isn't running.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have always had problems with these "network" emails that transmitt information: network@etp1008.etp.na.blackberry.net This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server. I use desktop redirector to send messages from Outlook to my blackberry. Sometimes I rarely receive these and other times I will have my blackberry and Outlook inbox folder FLOODED with multiple emails of this kind. Sometimes as many as 100 emails overnight. The only way I have found to bypass these messages is to create a folder in Outlook (I named it blackberry emails) and create a rule for all incoming messages from these addresses to filter them into this folder and set the folder to not sync with my blackberry. This is the only way I have found to NOT get flooded with these emails in my inbox and blackberry. Does anybody know of a better solution or rather why these emails are coming? I know they are supposed to dissapear, but they are not.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am running 5.0.0.419 right now on my VZW Tour. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I'm having some HTML E-Mail issues. Everytime I get an email, it never downloads emails automatically. I've got my settings so that it is supposed to, but when I open one up, I just have image boxes with no images. Is there anything special I need to do? I normally just go into options and hit get images, but it would be nice if this were done automatically.
View 4 Replies View Relatedif i delete an email on my handheld it does not delete from my actual gmail account. in fact, it doesnt even say that its read. well, on the computer next to inbox it doesnt say any are new, but when i look at the inbox, i still have the emails and it shows them bolded like they were not read at all. when i delete on my bb, nothing happens to gmail. i tried deleting my gmail address from my phone, resending service books, battery pulls but none of that has resolved. i made sure that handheld wins was set to on under wireless reconciliation and in the VZW BIS control/email settings i have it set to sync deleted emails.
i tried fooling around with the contact sync a few days ago but stopped it becaues it wasnt working (this is the only new thing ive done with my bb in the last week or so). i also downoaded the new socialbeat app from verizon/iskoot. but other than that nothing is new in the last few days. i am running driphters 6.3 on top of whatever OS its supp to be installed on (.484 i think?). dont just jump to that as the problem because i have had it for almost a month and have not had a problem until now (that i tried that stupid contact sync bullsht).
Will the backup and restore feature save and transfer individual emails when upgrading to the new iPhone? I've researched this and found it will save/backup and restore text messages, email accounts, photos, etc., but have not found if it does this for all of the individual emails with each email account.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was in gmail and I thought all of the e-mails in the All Mail folder were old/deleted emails. I checked the first hundred and they were all old. So I deleted them and that moved them to the Trash. Then I deleted the Trash. Apparently ALL of my e-mails were in the All Mail folder.. but that's not what it appeared when I looked in the All Mail folder to make sure that wasn't the case.
I use IMAP with my gmail account. They are gone when I log into gmail. They are gone in Thunderbird. But I have not updated my mail on my iPhone...any chance I can recover them from there?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem opening attachments in my emails. They are usually jpg or png files, which I have never had an issue opening before. I choose "open attachment" from the menu, and the little red clock that appears next to the file just stays there. If i click the trackball, i get a prompt to resend the request, but clicking "yes" doesn't do anything. I recently upgraded to leaked OS .662, but I'm not convinced that is the problem because a coworker has OS 4.7.1.40 (original OS) and he is also experiencing the same problem.

This morning I went to start a new email and usually I type the first letter and all contacts starting with a letter J for example will come up - - But nothing comes up! I checked my phonebook and all contacts are in there like normal, but my email won't pick any up. I can type the whole name of a person I want to email and it's not linking it to my contact list/phone book like normal.
View 19 Replies View RelatedThursday I didn't get any emails from my external email accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, Work) until 11:40PM Pacific then I got a whole days worth. Since then I haven't received anything.My phone works, text messaging works, the brower works, I can see the emails when I go to the websites on the PC or BB Browser. Facebook (no notifications though because they come through email) and Twitter apps work.I sent a test email from my BB from my yahoo account to my hotmail account and it did send.I have taken the battery out and restarted it. There arent any errors or anything I'm just not receiving the emails.

Is there anyway to restore just the missing contact information from the handset? If not, is there any hope of restoring these contacts?
View 7 Replies View Relatedmy phone tried to upgrade to 5.0 OTA today and it got all messed up. Long story short, it auto reverted back to 4.7, but a bunch of my settings were changed, and the very annoying problem of my BBM Group calendar being my default returned, so I decided to wipe the handheld entirely. Before I did so, I created a backup file using Desktop Manager in case anything went wrong.
So I wiped the phone, upgraded to 5.0 via DM, and then re-configured all my settings, 3rd party apps, etc. The only things I am missing now are my memos and task list items, which are contained in the aforementioned backup file. I'm afraid to do a complete restore on my phone using this file because some settings I don't want may get restored...so is there a way to just restore the memo and task list data contained in the backup file to my phone? I messed around w/ DM a little bit and wasn't able to figure it out, but then again I don't use DM too often, so I'm hoping you guys know something I don't.
I restored my iPhone 4 the other day and since then when reading emails any images don't display and certain sites don't display properly like Facebook mobile.

It's set to delete on Handheld and Mailbox (mailbox wins). When the user deletes the message on the BB, the message deletes in Outlook. When he deletes a message in his Outlook Inbox, it won't delete. The message will finally delete after being deleted from the deleted folder in Outlook, however, it's supposed to delete when cleared from the inbox.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've developed a problem with my 9630 (carrier: Sprint) recently. I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).
I have an issue with my BB Tour.When I woke up this mourning and took my bb off the charger.I notice there were HLhlhlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhl type on my bb so I tried to press the esc button and the end button and it didn't work. So I did a Battery pull and let it load up...and that when i found out that my trackball wasn't working.then all a sudden it started to type the HLlhlhlhlhlhlhhlhlh again.So I did a another battery pull and it did it again.So I wiped the phone decided to install 5.0 on my phone and I get the same thing.The only thing I did before my phone went hay wire was a couple days prior.I downloaded a couple free themes and screen saver from BB App World.I thought by doing the battery pull and wipe I would fix it but didn't. I know I didn't get my phone wet or anything can anybody explain this?
