BB Tour 9630 :: Never Downloads HTML Emails Automatically?
Feb 17, 2010
I am running 188.8.131.529 right now on my VZW Tour. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I'm having some HTML E-Mail issues. Everytime I get an email, it never downloads emails automatically. I've got my settings so that it is supposed to, but when I open one up, I just have image boxes with no images. Is there anything special I need to do? I normally just go into options and hit get images, but it would be nice if this were done automatically.
I upgraded my Tour (Verizon) last week to OS 5.0. Since the upgrade I have been unable to view HTML emails. The body of the email provides the text/link to the images along with a lot of text I do not understand. I don't even get the links to "get image" or "view image on a web page". I made sure the settings were correct (i.e. enable HTML email, download images automatically) and the issue persisted. Battery pull did not work, deleting and resending service books did not work. Through searches on this forum and others it appears that this is not an isolated problem. Is there a fix that I am not aware of? I am close to wiping the phone clean and going back to OS 4.7, but I like all other features that came with 5.0.
Images in my HTML emails wont download automatically (need to select ˜Get Images˜within each email to get images) even though under email preferences it is setup (box checked) as ˜Download Images Automatically and the Confirm External Image Download box is unchecked. In my old Bold 9000 there was no way to setup the device to download images automatically but I thought the Torch 9800 would be able to.Is At overriding this profile setting?
I've developed a problem with my 9630 (carrier: Sprint) recently. I won't receive emails on it for quite a while, but once I open my Internet browser, all of the emails I received since the last time I opened it will come through at once. If I check my messages, they're all listed as coming through at the same time, but inside the email, they're datestamped at the actual time they were sent.
Any ideas as to what it could be? I haven't changed any settings recently, the problem started independent of anything else, from what I can tell. It seems like a problem with my phone not checking for new emails until it uses data services (internet browser).
I searched - I swear - and I could not find a question quite like this one, and therefor was unable to find a solution, if there is one.And here's the question: I'd like to have SMS messages, received from one source, by one BlackBerry Tour, automatically forward by rule to a second BlackBerry Tour. Is this possible?
Is there a way to automatically sync my time? My BlackBerry gains about 20 seconds per day. If I switch my connection from Verizon to BlackBerry or viceversa It corrects itself but then starts to gain time again.
BB Tour Every email i get that has an image(s) like from stores , advertisements , etc. I need to press the BB button, go to Get images. s there a way to set the phone so I get the images without (so they load automatically) without going to the BB button every time.
Will Verizon Wireless automatically update the Tour to 184.108.40.2061? I've seen my Tour do some automatic updates randomly before, so I was wondering if this was possible. If not, what's the best way to dl it? I saw the thread above. Can I do it from the Verizon website or the Blackberry Desktop Manager?
I am now moving my email service to Gmail and plan to connect it to my BB Tour using the Google Sync service. My Gmail account handles 2 email addresses- one Gmail address for personal, and a second address for business that uses a private domain hosted by GoDaddy. When I am at my PC creating new emails the Gmail service gives me the option to designate which "From" address is used for each new email. When I am at my PC replying to emails the Gmail service automatically designates the "From" address to match the address that was used to send the email to me. Can I have similar functionality when sending new emails or replying to emails from by BB? If yes, in whole or in part, then how do I do it?
I've been trying to use my BB as music player when on the bike.At the same time, I'm running my GPS and utilize the phone function for incoming calls.Music starts up fine, however, as soon as the playback gets interrupted by any kind of command - GPS turn instructions or incoming phone calls, the playback won't automatically resume. Is there any work around for this?
Searched around for a bit, and most threads on this topic seem to be related to using BES.I had a Curve up until last week. When I delete messages in Outlook on my PC (standard POP mailbox, not Exchange), they would usually disappear from my BB within 30 minutes. Now I upgraded to a Tour last week and this is not happening, I have to delete in both places. I'm sure it is just a simple setting I am missing but can't find where it should be. I do have the reconciliation: on conflicts: set to Mailbox wins.
Other then this, really enjoying the Tour. I'll be going overseas next month so we'll see how well Verizon handles that.
I'm A Bit Confused, I Did A Battery Pull And It Loaded Up And Everything, I Just Wasn't Connected To BIS. If Someone Was To Send Me An Email, Say From A @Yahoo Email Address Would I Receive It? Or Would I Have To Be Connected To BIS To Receive Emails? I Have A @vzw.blackberry.net Email Address.
My 9630 does not save my incoming email messages for more than a day or so. What am I missing. All my sent items show up in the mailbox but nothing from previous days for incoming. Is this a setting I am missing? I noticed a "on conflict mailbox wins" should this be changed to handheld wins?
This might be a dumb question. I want to start receiving emails again to my handset. How do I go about turning that feature back on, so that I can get them? Blackberry Tour 9630 for Verizon. I can't seem to figure it out.
I have 3 email accounts hooked up to my blackberry. I really only want my school and gmail emails to come through to my phone and would like my hotmail account (spam/misc. account) to only be accessible when I go into the actual email account, and not get 100 emails an hour from it. Is this possible?
I spent 4 hours on the phone today with Verizon trying to figure out why only certain emails come to my device. I've updated the service books, tables, deleted my email account, created a new one, books and tables again, pulled the battery, everything. Nothing seems to work.I was getting all my emails last week and over the weekend I've just started to get only a few (call it 2/7 on average). Can anyone help me with what is going on?! This is very frustrating and the Verizon guys are about as helpful as rocks.
I have always had problems with these "network" emails that transmitt information: email@example.com This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server. Please do not delete, move or respond to this message - it will be processed by the server. I use desktop redirector to send messages from Outlook to my blackberry. Sometimes I rarely receive these and other times I will have my blackberry and Outlook inbox folder FLOODED with multiple emails of this kind. Sometimes as many as 100 emails overnight. The only way I have found to bypass these messages is to create a folder in Outlook (I named it blackberry emails) and create a rule for all incoming messages from these addresses to filter them into this folder and set the folder to not sync with my blackberry. This is the only way I have found to NOT get flooded with these emails in my inbox and blackberry. Does anybody know of a better solution or rather why these emails are coming? I know they are supposed to dissapear, but they are not.
if i delete an email on my handheld it does not delete from my actual gmail account. in fact, it doesnt even say that its read. well, on the computer next to inbox it doesnt say any are new, but when i look at the inbox, i still have the emails and it shows them bolded like they were not read at all. when i delete on my bb, nothing happens to gmail. i tried deleting my gmail address from my phone, resending service books, battery pulls but none of that has resolved. i made sure that handheld wins was set to on under wireless reconciliation and in the VZW BIS control/email settings i have it set to sync deleted emails.
i tried fooling around with the contact sync a few days ago but stopped it becaues it wasnt working (this is the only new thing ive done with my bb in the last week or so). i also downoaded the new socialbeat app from verizon/iskoot. but other than that nothing is new in the last few days. i am running driphters 6.3 on top of whatever OS its supp to be installed on (.484 i think?). dont just jump to that as the problem because i have had it for almost a month and have not had a problem until now (that i tried that stupid contact sync bullsht).
I am having a problem opening attachments in my emails. They are usually jpg or png files, which I have never had an issue opening before. I choose "open attachment" from the menu, and the little red clock that appears next to the file just stays there. If i click the trackball, i get a prompt to resend the request, but clicking "yes" doesn't do anything. I recently upgraded to leaked OS .662, but I'm not convinced that is the problem because a coworker has OS 220.127.116.11 (original OS) and he is also experiencing the same problem.
I have a new Tour 9630 (5.0) and I can't seem to upload and save pictures that have been sent to me on email-as I could with my older Tour. When I view the attachment pictures there is no prompt to save. This had never been a problem with my older one.Is this a common problem.
I use the Tour on the Verizon network. This morning I went to start a new email and usually I type the first letter and all contacts starting with a letter J for example will come up - - But nothing comes up! I checked my phonebook and all contacts are in there like normal, but my email won't pick any up. I can type the whole name of a person I want to email and it's not linking it to my contact list/phone book like normal.
Thursday I didn't get any emails from my external email accounts (Yahoo, Hotmail, Work) until 11:40PM Pacific then I got a whole days worth. Since then I haven't received anything. My phone works, text messaging works, the brower works, I can see the emails when I go to the websites on the PC or BB Browser. Facebook (no notifications though because they come through email) and Twitter apps work.I sent a test email from my BB from my yahoo account to my hotmail account and it did send.I have taken the battery out and restarted it. There arent any errors or anything I'm just not receiving the emails.
It's set to delete on Handheld and Mailbox (mailbox wins). When the user deletes the message on the BB, the message deletes in Outlook. When he deletes a message in his Outlook Inbox, it won't delete. The message will finally delete after being deleted from the deleted folder in Outlook, however, it's supposed to delete when cleared from the inbox.
I was just given a new E72 for work as my iphone got smashed. But I cant view emails on it. I have configured my emails on it & can download my emails ok, but when i open them I cant see anything more than the subject & get the following error:"Mail for exchange
Security policy that allows downloading HTML messages is disabled".Is there a feature I havent got enabled?
