BB Torch 9800 :: Hide / Unhide Picture Folders Option?
Aug 15, 2010Anyone able to hide or unhide (since one seemed to have vanished on me) their picture folders? I had a folder, ticked the hide button but it was still able to be seen. Battery pull (for a different issue) and than the folder is gone and have no idea how one would get it back.It's not like on the 9700.

1. What is the best source for basic how to information? Does it reveal me as hopeless than I'm wishing I had a book to help? Any suggestions for how I should get started?
2. Is there an easy way to get rid of the icons on my home page that are for stuff I don't want - like Fandago, Bloomberg, etc.?
BB Torch :: 9800 Unknown Notification Icons?
Feb 2, 2012I have two unknown notification icons on my homescreen on BB Torch 9800. It's driving me insane not knowing what they're.Tried to get the picture in here, but don't have a clue how. The first icon resembles a tape casette player icon and displayed in white. The second one shows a smaller version of the tape casette player icon in black with three little dots on top of it.

Dec 8, 2010I've got a new Blackberry Torch 9800 that was issued to me by my company. Needless to say it has my company email account on it and I've also just added my personal email account to it as well. In the 3 weeks since I first got the phone I've had only the corporate email account active and have thus become dependent on the New Message notifier icon at the top of the home screen.
When I see 1 or more new messages I no longer have any idea if it is a work email or a personal one. Any way to change the notifier icon for my personal email account so at a glance I can see how many items I have for either account. I know I could just turn off the notifier function for the personal account which would remove it from that notification area, but I'd really prefer not to do that, I just want some ability to tell the two apart at a glance.

My school e-mail is weird because when I go inside everything looks exactly like gmail but it isn't exactly gmail beacuse you can't sign on from www.gmail.com. Gotta go through the school website. I can move the factory installed icons like the BBapp world icon, but icons for apps I have downloaded cannot be moved. It would be nice to lump applications that get badge notifications into one folder. This would at least provide some form of notification management until Apple solves the problem. Granted this won't work for applications that use the badge icons for things like temperature.

Aug 3, 2011My 9800 from ATT works great and I really like using this but the annoying aspect of the phone is that it randomly uninstalls my applications. Today, the Blackberry software gift, DriveSafe.ly enterprise edition uninstalled itself and it's no longer on my phone. The reason I know this is that when I go to the App world and click on the app, it says "download now" and if it was already there, it should say "already installed." This part of the Blackberry is my most annoying issue. Is there another way? With the free apps it's easy, just re-install. But with this one since it was gifted do I have to pay to get it re-install? I have not gone through a restore yet, hoping don't have to.

Also, the folder that kept all my downloads, the one with the orange arrow pointing in, has also disappeared. Apr 17, 2012i have a problem with my bb bold 9780. the folders in the main manu keep changing their names from german to english (my selected language is german). e.g. the games and the application folder, the rest has still its german name. and also there appear new icons, some with a question mark in it (but on top it says sounds), some i don't know. it seems to me, that my bb kind of splits folders and than some of the icons show up in the main menu.
this started yesterday and so i updated my bb. after this everything was fine again. i deleted some of the apps that were installed with the update (Internet, myspace, ...) and after the restart there was the same problem again. i installed some new apps (slide lock, games, themes and password lock) before and some time after the problem started. i don't know if this has any to do with it.

Aug 11, 2010I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
