Just switched devices from a 9000 to a 9700. My settings are gone! None of the folders and formating were saved. Is this normal?How do I delete everything off of the old SIM card?

Circuit Switched
Circuit Switched Preferred
Packet Switched Preferred
Packet Switched
My Network is Circuit Switched Preferred, but i would like to know if anyone knows what these mean and which is the best for SMS Texts to be sent over using which one?

Having a problem where Whatsapp messages still vibrate even though I've switched it off in the apps settings?
Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Jaguar X-Type on which the bluetooth system appears to remain active for several minutes after the car is switched off. The effect of this is that the phone remains linked to the car until the car system eventually shuts down.If I receive a call to my mobile during this period, the phone rings but I am not able to hear anything through the phone earpiece. How can I disconnect from the car bluetooth in order to receive any incoming calls that coincide with the above period. This has caused some embarassment on a number of occasions.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just got a Bold 9700 and am really starting to like this phone. But I cannot get the bluetooth to work properly. It will pair with my devices but will not connect to them. It says connection failed or connection not supported. It will not connect to my cars built in bluetooth either, I have a new 2010 galaxy and it accepts the cars passkey but will not connect. I Really need my phone to connect to my car. When I go to my paired device list and click on a device I do not get a connect option, which I have been told to use. I am on vodafone in the UK and have contacted them to see if they can help but they tell me they do not help with Blackberry's (funny that when they take my money for it) so I am unsure where to contact now for help.

But everything got erased from the 9000 (contacts, everything!) and nothing got uploaded to my 9700. Is there any way I can find the lost info??? I am pretty sure i never did a back up from the 9000. I had a Pearl 8120 before, and it had the ability to store different volume levels for handset, speakerphone and headset.The 9700 seems to have just one setting for all.If you change the volume on the speaker, the volume will also be changed for the headset.I find this rather annoying. Or did I overlook a setting somewhere to make it work?

I have removed the battery and done the suggested soft resets but when it startsup the progress bar freezes in the same place.I have now tried the factory reset in the BBDesktopapplication. I get a message saying it is initializing and a small progress wheel is spinning. It has been like this for 6 hours and there has been absolutely no movement on the progress bar.

I noticed today when I got home that none of my email had come through on my BB. I did a battery pull. So, I went to "Manage Email Settings" and tried to connect, but got "The application has encountered an error and cannot continue." Update - I just checked my device manager and it says I'm disconnected. It says "COM3/Disconnected" to be exact.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDespite putting the very latest firmware on my 9700, the email Settings Application ( in Setup Folder - Email settings) still takes me to a browser based setup on the BIS . my old 8900 and my work 9700 has an application type interface.. Why is this a problem ? Because it wont let me setup gmail Contact sync .. Keeps giving me a message "To start xxxxxxxx@gmail.com contacts synchronization with your BlackBerry® device, complete the security activation on your device:
1. In the Setup folder, log in to the Email Settings application.
2. After you log in, the security activation starts. When security activation is complete, wireless synchronization of your contacts with your device automatically begins."
This does not work and I'm guessing because i dont have the latest email settings on the device.. I have tried re-installing firmware , wipes etc..
