I am a regular user of my BB. I had the iPhone before (yes I know, awful person, haha) and then I switched back. What app's do you, personally, think is the best. Games, Utilities, Just for fun, Something to do...
I have always wondered on my Blackberry Bold 9700 under Options-SMS Text and go down to Network To Send Over and it gives me 4 options:
Circuit Switched
Circuit Switched Preferred
Packet Switched Preferred
Packet Switched
My Network is Circuit Switched Preferred, but i would like to know if anyone knows what these mean and which is the best for SMS Texts to be sent over using which one?
Since Thursday my BB9700 has not been receiving emails regularly. I may get one large batch if e mails a day . However I am getting face book notifications as normal. I have contacted my provider T Mobile who said there is an issue with the Blackberry server currently and they could not help. I have not heard anything about this is this true or are T mobile trying to pass the blame? I have not changed any settings on BB 9700, I am receiving the e mails on my desktop pc. Can someone please give me some advise on how I can resolve this issue/
I have recently purchased this 9700 (3 weeks ago) and am generally very pleased with the device. BUT If I leave the BB 9700 connected overnight to the computers USB Port for charging, and, obviously, after a few hours the computer will go to sleep, thus turning off the power to the USB port In the morning I find that the BB is: Off and will not turn on, unless it is power reset. In other words I have to open up the back and pull the battery for a second then after It is put back in the red light will display nevertheless it will turn on and be fine once it boots back up. There are no other indications or problems. I notice that other people have similar complaints with their BB's.
My BB Bold 9900 is 3 days old!!! It has just switched off and will not switch back on, its not the battery as I have even put a new second new battery in? What's wrong with the phone?
I've switched my exchange carrier for my email account (have access to both) that is connected to my bbm contacts, the default email is different between the two carriers, how can I get my contacts back?
I have a Jaguar X-Type on which the bluetooth system appears to remain active for several minutes after the car is switched off. The effect of this is that the phone remains linked to the car until the car system eventually shuts down.If I receive a call to my mobile during this period, the phone rings but I am not able to hear anything through the phone earpiece. How can I disconnect from the car bluetooth in order to receive any incoming calls that coincide with the above period. This has caused some embarassment on a number of occasions.
I am trying to talk a user through BES Activation. I have emailed the BES activation password to them, But I cant talk them through where to enter it in the phone.
I have an issue with a brand new Bold 9700. When receiving a text (SMS) the user's name is not displayed, just their mobile number details. All the details of the person are stored in my contacts on the phone, and if you click the options against the text message, it then figures out the name of the sender as it adds their name in the options to email, call, SMS etc.I went into the SMS options and initially saw that the "Show names" option was marked as "No". I thought, aha changed it to "yes" but this makes no difference.
My O/S is v5.0.0.344 (Platform 5.1.0.96)
Carrier is Vodafone in the UK
I did see other posts for updates, but these related to O/S version 4xx which seems to be a different version to mine (which also seemed strange as mine is a brand new phone), and so was kind of scared to try that on my O/S.
What do I do if my iPhone just switched itself off and won't turn back on again? It does not even register power when I plug it in to my car or home charger or computer???
my iphone 4 was in my pocket i checked it to see the time. got the time and put it back in my pocket then went to make a call 5mins later and the phone was switched off. i tried to tuen it back on and there was no response. have tried charge it but nothing. took the sim out and put it back but nothing. there was about 60% battery remaining when this happened!
My iphone switched off and when I turn it back on it wants to connect to itunes I was taing photo's and battery was half full - I switched it off and when I turned it on it says connect to itunes. I am not near my laptop?! What can I do
My mum only gave me this phone 2days ago as she got a new one. She's never had a problem with it and has kept it in a hard case so still looks brand new. I always have a habit of breaking or losing phones, this is 3rd one in 4 months. Anyway I picked my phone up and it was switched off but I presumed it was dead as I had left my music playing. I put it on charge only for 10 minutes but I never tried switchig it on as I forgot to take it out with me. I put it on charge again last nite but it won't turn on this morning. The screen comes up white with the battery sign on the right which stops after a minute as I assume its fully charged now. Its not the charger as my bf uses it for his and the phone does seem to be charging. The on button can't be broken as when I press it the white background comes back on. I've tried the hard reset wth the 3 * and green button but nothing.
I accidently removed the battery from the phone while it was still switched on. When the phone reset itself, I lost all my media (photos & mp3). I tried to put my mp3 music back onto the phone from my PC using the desktop manager but an error message pops up telling me I only have 2.8mb of memory. How do I get my memory back?
Just switched devices from a 9000 to a 9700. My settings are gone! None of the folders and formating were saved. Is this normal? How do I delete everything off of the old SIM card?
I recently had the app error 523, and because I stupidly hadn't backed up on my PC, I lost everything as I had to reload the OS etc. I use things like my calendar etc a lot, so hate the idea that my blackberry could stop working again at any time and I'd lose everything since my last back up.
So is there a way to wirelessly backup through the blackberry's own internet, or is doing it through the desktop manager the only way?
Currently using the Blackberry 9700. Got it a week ago on a 3-year contract. and have had no major issues until today. For the past 12-24 hours, I have been unable to access anything that uses the Blackberry internet service (BBM, MSN, Facebook and Internet Browser included). I went into "Manage Connections", then "Services Status" and discovered this:
BlackBerry Internet Service Connection: Not Connected
I'd assume it isn't supposed to be like that; I've tried restarting the device several times to no avail.Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem?
I got my BB about 2 days ago. It worked fine for about half a day after being fully charged, but whilst using it, the screen froze. The power button wasn't functioning at this point so i removed the battery.
Having put the battery back in, the phone now won't turn back on. The red LED is not on at all, the device isn't being recognised through USB, im pretty stuck. Is there anything I can do or should I return it to get a replacement?
The back up files on my lap top (windows 7) cannot be accessed, the note tells me -
Adobe Reader could not open "Blackberry Bold 9700- (date) .ipd " because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and was not correctly decoded)
Why is the file saved to Adobe if it is a unsupportable file?
The synchronisation was done as per proceedure and works in other respects. It is not done by e-mail. Who is hiding my calendar - is it BBry or Microsoft?
BBry back up seems to remove ( I cannot ge them in any other Windows location that I can find) all my previous calendar records and then puts them in a file I cannot open!
This either means I have to go back to using a paper diary and therefore can do without a 9700 or any other BBry product - or I go to an entire MAc set -up.
I have bold 9700 running os6 but I want to get back my 2g only option in mobile network options. I use BB 9700 of H3G UK. In OS5, it has 2g mode, 3g mode and 2g&3g mode but there is no 2g mode in Mobile network option in OS6. I have tried to reinstall OS6 and nothing change.
Is there a better way to do get the 2g only option back?? Don't tell me that I have to downgrade to OS5
My phone phone turn off by itself about 3 hrs ago. It will not turn back on, the icd light is flashing red. Seems like to me it's flashing 2 longer flashes then 2 small one straight away. Continuously repeats this with 20/30 seconds between each. I have tried plugging it into my laptop but is not connected.
Friend just bought the 9700 locked on T-Mobile, had it successfuly unlocked but the code was for Rogers while she wants it for Telus. She has the new code but I can't seem to get to the popup "Enter network MEP code" because at the Network line in "Sim" menu, it is marked disabled (unlocked). SO is there a way to lock it back to enter new code?
