Just switched devices from a 9000 to a 9700. My settings are gone! None of the folders and formating were saved. Is this normal?How do I delete everything off of the old SIM card?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just got a Bold 9700 and am really starting to like this phone. But I cannot get the bluetooth to work properly. It will pair with my devices but will not connect to them. It says connection failed or connection not supported. It will not connect to my cars built in bluetooth either, I have a new 2010 galaxy and it accepts the cars passkey but will not connect. I Really need my phone to connect to my car. When I go to my paired device list and click on a device I do not get a connect option, which I have been told to use. I am on vodafone in the UK and have contacted them to see if they can help but they tell me they do not help with Blackberry's (funny that when they take my money for it) so I am unsure where to contact now for help.

But everything got erased from the 9000 (contacts, everything!) and nothing got uploaded to my 9700. Is there any way I can find the lost info??? I am pretty sure i never did a back up from the 9000. I cant believe I lost all my contacts!!!

When I do the exact same thing using a Curve 9300 (or any other phone for that matter) I am able to find at least 10 devices in the exact same location at work. I don't understand RIM when it come to their operating system. Look at Apple with their OS5.1. It's used on their iPhone as well as their iPad. I firmly believe that RIM would have a better Blackberry if they would only use one OS across their product line. Any comments?

For instance, if I am using iMessage on my laptop, I can see those messages on my iPad and vice versa. But I can't see those messages on my phone. Same is true the other way around. If I send iMessages from my iPhone, I am not able to see them on my laptop or iPad.
I have set up iMessages on my phone to also accept messages from the same email address that is being used on both my desktop and my iPad but i am still not seeing those messages.
Was this just never meant to work that way or is my setup missing something where I am not able to see those messages that were on my desktop and iPad?
Example:
A message sent from my phone shows its from my phone number. I am not given the choice to send from the email address that I have also told it that it can accept messages from.
A message sent from my iPad or Laptop shows its from my email address. I am not give the choice to send from my phone number.

1) How do I sync and back up our iPhones on the new laptop without losing any data stored on the phone? and
2) I used to use windows contacts to sync contacts with itunes. I now have Outlook and would prefer to use that program for my contacts.Can I set this up with two different contact lists (i.e. one for me and one for my wife) that the phones will sync with? and obviously, how do I then sync the phones to those new lists?
