I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2, when i'm using iMessage on my iPad and disable my iPhones iMessage it's fine.. after i enable iMessage again, all the messages come through and its just a headache to make it stop... what could i do so i could use iMessage on both devices without messing around?
I'm trying to sync iMessage between my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen., wifi only) and it only syncs up maybe 10% of the time. I have the same Caller ID on my iPhone and iPad, switched my DNS to 8.8.8.8, rebooted both devices, deleted all prior messages. I even used my @me.com email address as the Call ID and both my iPhone and iPad synced messages but only for a few days and then stopped working.
I have been an apple user for many years and recently had a disturbing occurrence. I stopped receiving some of my texts messages for the past month or so and when I searched all of the devices in my household, I was shocked to find that my daughter's iPhone was receiving them because the senders were using iMessage (which I don't use). I was able to repair that situation but my bigger question is whether I can find a list of all devices using my account info to log into iMessage and remove them so that I receive every text sent to my iPhone.
I don't like when things from my phone sync to my iPad or iPod, so I am wondering if there is a way to keep the texts on my phone and off of everything else. I share my iPad with others and don't want to be in the middle of a conversation when all of a sudden it just appears while someone else is using the iPad. In addition, I don't want the messages to syn to the computer when I plug my phone in, as I also share the computer with others. This has kept me from using iMessage because of how iCloud works
I don't understand how to continue a discussion from one device to another. I have the same email address in my iMessage settings on my iPhone and my iPad but I can't see the conversation on my iPad as I would have expected.
I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.1 when it was released. My friend updated his iPhone 4S delayed, yesterday. Before yesterday iMessage worked well between our iPhones. But since my friend updated to iOS 5.1 as well, iMessage does not work anymore between our two iPhones.iMessage works well with all other adresses we both use as well. But only our two iPhones cannot use iMessage anymore.
i have noticed that after switching to ios 5.1 my phone has been acting funny. for example: when i am messaging other iphone users with iMessage, it keeps switching from iMessage to regular text every 2 or 3 messages. at first i thought it was the other person since i am normally within my works wifi network and at my home wifi network, but it seems that this problem only occurs to other people when imessaging with me and not with anyone else. and this problem occurs to me while imessaging everyone, so i have come to the conclusion that the problem must be my phone. i have noticed this problem to occur since updating to ios 5.1. has anyone else experienced this problem? what can i do? i am 2 steps shy of reinstalling my phone.
I am trying to understand how iMessage works in relation to my other devices and my iphone. For instance, if I am using iMessage on my laptop, I can see those messages on my iPad and vice versa. But I can't see those messages on my phone. Same is true the other way around. If I send iMessages from my iPhone, I am not able to see them on my laptop or iPad.
I have set up iMessages on my phone to also accept messages from the same email address that is being used on both my desktop and my iPad but i am still not seeing those messages.
Was this just never meant to work that way or is my setup missing something where I am not able to see those messages that were on my desktop and iPad?
Example:
A message sent from my phone shows its from my phone number. I am not given the choice to send from the email address that I have also told it that it can accept messages from.
A message sent from my iPad or Laptop shows its from my email address. I am not give the choice to send from my phone number.
My wife and I both have iphones. Our old laptop died. We have a new windows 7 laptop. I have downloaded itunes. I have two questions: 1) How do I sync and back up our iPhones on the new laptop without losing any data stored on the phone? and 2) I used to use windows contacts to sync contacts with itunes. I now have Outlook and would prefer to use that program for my contacts. Can I set this up with two different contact lists (i.e. one for me and one for my wife) that the phones will sync with? and obviously, how do I then sync the phones to those new lists?
I've been trying to figure out how to add another iPhone to the iTunes on this Mac Pro. We have 2 iPhone and 2 iPads, but only this computer that we both use. I haven't mad it past the prompt that the music she purchased with be deleted if I push OK. I did make us separate accounts and separated our contacts and Photos. How to sync her phone, but not lost any of the date on the the phone. My main goal is to back up all our devices through the iTunes.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), iPhones are 4
I can't get my iphone to appear under devices within itunes, my iphone appears as my ipod under devices therefore I am unable to sync my music etc onto my iphone.
iTunes can't see my iphone under devices. I tried a restore on my iphone and now iTunes can't see my iphone. My iphone displays the connect to iTunes icon. How do I complete the restore if iTunes can't see the device?

I have created an app which is not accepted by app store due to the usage of private API. Now I want to distribute the app to jailbreak phones. I know that there is Cydia for distribution, but how do I create a file for distribution? In detail, after compilation, I have a signed *.app file (signed with Apple's distribution certificate). What do I have to do with this file, so that I can e.g. email it to friend who have jailbroken iPhones?
I have 5 IMAP accounts and recieve all email happily on the MBP, but most emails don't show up on the iPhone...It's an iPhone 4 on the newest software, and the MBP is on Mail version 4.5 SL.
