If so, how do I go about doing that? It seems to me that imessage is aol messaging, rather then any and all texting.

Jun 24, 2012Since Apple released iMessage my friend and I have been iMessaging. As of yesterday, I can still send my friend iMessages as usual, but she can only send iMessages to my email (I have "Receive at" set to my phone number and email, Caller ID set to my phone number). If she tries to send an iMessage to my phone number, as she did before, it will only send as a Text. All of my other iPhone contacts can still send iMessages to my phone number. We've each tried rebooting and switching iMessage on and off (we both have iPhone 4, IOS 5.1.1) without any luck. I realise that iMessage is still technically working with her sending to my email, but we just don't understand why sending to my phone number has suddenly stopped working.

Apr 4, 2012I have an iPhone 4S and an iPad 2, when i'm using iMessage on my iPad and disable my iPhones iMessage it's fine.. after i enable iMessage again, all the messages come through and its just a headache to make it stop... what could i do so i could use iMessage on both devices without messing around?

Jun 7, 2012I'm trying to sync iMessage between my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen., wifi only) and it only syncs up maybe 10% of the time. I have the same Caller ID on my iPhone and iPad, switched my DNS to 8.8.8.8, rebooted both devices, deleted all prior messages. I even used my @me.com email address as the Call ID and both my iPhone and iPad synced messages but only for a few days and then stopped working.

Dec 5, 2014I have been an apple user for many years and recently had a disturbing occurrence. I stopped receiving some of my texts messages for the past month or so and when I searched all of the devices in my household, I was shocked to find that my daughter's iPhone was receiving them because the senders were using iMessage (which I don't use). I was able to repair that situation but my bigger question is whether I can find a list of all devices using my account info to log into iMessage and remove them so that I receive every text sent to my iPhone.

Mar 28, 2012I don't like when things from my phone sync to my iPad or iPod, so I am wondering if there is a way to keep the texts on my phone and off of everything else. I share my iPad with others and don't want to be in the middle of a conversation when all of a sudden it just appears while someone else is using the iPad. In addition, I don't want the messages to syn to the computer when I plug my phone in, as I also share the computer with others. This has kept me from using iMessage because of how iCloud works

Sometimes when I text using MMS/iMessage, it takes a minute or so for the sending bar to make the swoosh noise. Kind of weird it takes that long to send a message, and it's not all the time. Is this normal? Any help would be great.

Dec 2, 2014I'm using an iPhone 6+, a Macbook Pro with retina display and an iPad 4th gen. I got the texting on the mac set up once the updates came out and it worked beautifully. A week ago, all I did was change the password to my apple id, logged back in and now I can't text from my macbook or my iPad. I've logged out and back in a million times, changed my network settings, double checked I'm logged in on all devices, I've used both my original apple id with my @yahoo account and with my @icloud (honesty, I don't even know where the @icloud one comes from, I only use my @yahoo to sign in), and there's just nothing. I'm hoping theres something I can do besides a factory reset on both.

For months I've been dealing with being unable to send pictures to contacts by iMessage. Now in the last week I cannot send by MMS either.
I also cannot send on my iPad.Â
I've read through numerous forum postings and let me assure you that absolutely nothing has worked. Here is what I can remember doing so far, but to be honest I've been troubleshooting on my own for a while so I am probably forgetting things. Restore iPhone Troubleshooting on this blog: [URL] ..... Reset network settings. Change iCloud and AppleID password. Remove AppleID from iMessage, use only phone number. Double-check that MMS is turned on. Double-check that numbers aren't blocked. Double-check that it isn't on the recipient end. Considering it's all of my contacts and they can send everything to me just fine it is obviously not their fault. Contact service provider, they say it's an issue with AppleClear out iPhone memory, I have almost 8GB of free space. Update to latest iOS. Tried sending on WiFi and LTE, doesn't work on either ...

Whenever I try to send a picture, iMessage indicates at first that the picture has been "delivered". Then, about 10 seconds later, it changes the status to "not sent". The picture never goes through.  I can send the picture as an MMS/Text, just not as an iMessage.Â
I've tried resetting my carrier/network settings, turning off/on iMessage, rebooting the phone multiple times, removing the SIM card and everything else I can think of without any success.
