BB Curve 8900 :: How To Keep Home Screen Pic After Reboot?
Mar 4, 2010I just got a BB 8900 and I love it, but there is something that annoys me. When I set my home screen picture and then reboot for whatever reason, the home screen wallpaper reverts back to the default. How do I prevent that from happening?

Feb 24, 2010i was wondering if RIM will change this annoying reboot each time you install something... It's not like the iPhone you can download an apps just for fun, with BB you have to think that you don't need your phone during 5 minutes, that nobody is going to call you, and it's so annoying.I think i would install so much more application without the automatic reboot.

Jun 19, 2010My handset crashed due to loading 3rrd party applications. I get a message on the screen 'Reload Software:552' when I switch on the handset. The handset cannot be recognized by the desktop manager when it is plugged in. The handset ceases all its functions till the OS is restored or retrieved. One option is to go to the authorized service centre. But that is hundreds of miles away for from where I stay. Is there any other way that I can personally work on retrieving it.

May 25, 2011my phone is the Blackberry Curve 8900 and i am on the o2 network.I recieved an upgrade message tonight from Blackberry App World for the newest version of the app.I downloaded and then let the phone reboot.Since then the load up screen gets about halfway then freezes.I have removed the battery and left for 10 mins but no luck.I left the phone to reboot for around an hour but no luck.I have also tried connecting it to the PC but it says the device is not recognised as it is rebooting?

Mar 25, 2010When i reboot my phone after I installed a few upgrades to some applications, as usual.I was asked to reboot.It restarted the phone, however does not completly reboot back to my home screen. Instead, it is stuck on my Network Provider's screen...(o2 Welcome Screen)Im guessing it is still finishing the installation of some upgrades, but it has been like this all night.
I did a baterry pull, and took out the SIM Card and memory card, however it still seems to be stuck on the Network Provider's home screen.I had this issue last time, and I was advised from another forum to turn off the phone from the Off button on the phone, pull the battery and memory card, reinsert the battery without the memory card.This worked perfectly last time. Now, while the welcome screen is showing, if i press the off button, it will "Verify Security Software" and turn off.

Apr 25, 2011My Curve 8900 shut down over the weekend. It won't come back on. It goes off and when I press the power button, the red light comes one, the backlit screen with the hourglass comes on and then it goes off again. A little while later, it starts the cycle over again, backlit blank screen, hourglass spins, bb shuts off.

May 22, 2010I had an 8310 and just bought an 8900 brand new off of eBay. I used the 8310's speakerphone A LOT for listening to music and loved it! I always took the back of the phone off too so that it wasn't coming through 2 little holes through the top. Is the sound quality and volume of the 8900 equal to or greater than the 8300 with its batter door off?

Jun 29, 2010I recently purchased a blackberry 8900 and am trying to upgrade the software to the newest version (5.0 I assume). However whenever I check for updates via the blackberry site the desktop manger pops up and does not offer this upgrade. All it says it 4.6.1 (current) and the rest are downgrades, so I'm not quite sure what I need to do to get the new OS to even appear, much less download it and work.

Since Password is on, I see no need for Device Memory encryption to be on. Without the password you can't gain access to device files. ZonaSnap , QuickLaunch, Blink all preloaded during each test. 8 Email Accounts, about 80 read emails, and 100+ sms, 41 apps anyone that is getting 1-2min reboot please post your settings.

Aug 4, 2011Basically, the phone went completely dead, despite being fully charged. At first there was no response from the phone whatsoever and this went on for about 4 hours. I was out of the house and had no charger so assumed that maybe the battery had run out.However, after about 4 hours the Blackberry began behaving very weirdly. Every so often, the red LED light comes on for about 10 seconds and then it tries to switch on (without me pressing a button). The reboot bar comes up, but when this is only about 5-10% full the Blackberry crashes and does exactly the same thing again, crashing at the same point. Sometimes it can do this continuously and sometimes it will go completely unresponsive again.
Removing the battery makes no difference, because when I put it back in it simply behaves in the same way.I tried launching a software update through BB Desktop to remedy this, but half-way through the programme said that it could not connect to the Blackberry, even though it had previously been connected.

I fell asleep with it rebooting on the charger, but when I woke up around eight hours later it still wasn't finished rebooting.
