so my trackpad stopped working while is programs... i.e. BBM, or a text it wont move, but will move on the homescreen. O button not working either. Both came on suddenly, I've pulled the battery and sd card a number of times.

I have a Curve 9300 with OS 6. I cannot return the device to the original retailer (out of warranty).This is kind of what happens.
1.)Trackpad stops scrolling after backlight switches back on. After waiting 10 seconds it works ok
2.) After an hour or so the trackpad stops scrolling entirely. The "push button" of trackpad still works though.
3.) I hard reset the device. Trackpad stops working entirely (doesnt scroll and pushing it as a button does not work either)
4.) I send phone in for repairs.
5.) If it works after "cleaning and reseating trackpad" my phone works fine for a few days. Then problem starts all over again.
6.)If cleaning does not work, they replace my trackpad. This usually works for a few weeks to a month. Then the problem starts all over again?I am getting sick of having the phone getting sent in for the trackpad to just be replaced again and again.
Is my phone screwed? I didn't drop it or get it wet or anything like that, it just stopped working. I tried battery resets, I also tried removing battery and pressing the button 5 times as I heard this may fix it. None of that works. Is there any fix for the trackpad button not working or should I just buy a iphone, i'm getting tired of blackberry issues.

At that moment I was very happy with it, because my other blackberry (curve 8520) had to be repared. ut now my bb 9800 has a failure. At this moment the trackpad works on 1 part of te screen. So you have to activate the part of the screen by touchscreen. For example: you can scroll through the menu but not scroll to the sound profiles. Therefore you have to touch the icon on the screen. And sometimes the keyboard doesn't work either. The buttons: dial, menu, return and on/off aren't working either.I have tried many things. Hard boot, master boot and a complete new installation of the OS.

I finally fixed it after reinstalling the OS a couple times but now I've noticed the 'clicking' function of the trackpad is not working. When I press it down nothing happens. I can still scroll no problem but pressing it down does nothing.I've reinstalled the OS a couple times again and the problem still persists. Any ideas on how to fix it? View 4 Replies View RelatedI did an OS update from my computer and when that didn't work pushed a complete wipe and reinstall with JL_Cmder. That sorted out the WSOD issues however the trackpad will now only work as a push button and not to scroll. I sent it off to be looked at by my carrier and they said water damage but I'm 100% certain it's not having looked at the parts myself as well as having been ridiculously careful with it: basically just think they are trying to avoid a replace on warranty!
