I have Curve8520 which is couple of years old. It has creating problems in terms of trackpad. The trackpad is not scrolling. I have re-installed the OS, but it is still not working.
View 4 RepliesMy trackpad on my 9300 is scrolling by itself, when I start scrolling on bbm, fb, menu etc. It will start scrolling down by itself when not in use. It's really bugging me and don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know how to make it stop or fix it?

View 9 Replies View Relatedrecently my lock button at the top hasn't be working properly, it will lock, but then won't unlock until he 10th push. Also the trackpad sometimes does not scroll up, only left and right. Also some of my letter/number keys (all the ones under the trackpad) haven't been working the first time I press them! Also the camera button isn't working sometimes, it clicks to take, but doesn't do the first mini click to focus. And lastly my ALT button hasn't been working sometimes. I've done reboots and it doesn't help. The wierd thing is, all the problems are intermittent.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy Bold 9780 started having glitches a couple of months ago. The P & del buttons started doin weird stuff then one night the phone switched itself off. I had to do the taking the battery out thing to get it on but it continued to switch off. I searched the net and found a solution. I took the battery out for a while then gave it a long 24hr charge. This got the phone working again. I still had a few problems with the p but nothing to serious. Over the last week the problem with the p started to happen again and 2 nights ago the phone switched itself off again. I did exactly what I had done before and it worked but once the phone is on I cannot scroll the trackpad on the main screen which means i cant do anything. if i push a few buttons i can get onto the search screen and get onto the menu where the scroll works but if i get into certain apps like messenger it doesnt scroll again. it also has been switching itself on and off again. when it first started i could still connect it to the desktop software, now i cant even do that.

It has been like this for about 4weeks.I have not dropped it or kept it near water.its just 2monthes old and I baby it so much.there is a tiny red light(I think its the infra-red)showing inside the trackpad so I think its not totally spoilt.since this problem started my phone takes too much time(about 10mins)to come up anytime I take out the battery.and most times the phone is slow in operating. It has worked twice during the 4weeks interval.the first time my battery was flat and I removed it from my phone then when I wanted to charge it came up at a normal time(1min)and was scrolling but stopped scrolling again in about 2mins while I was using it. The other time was wen my camera was not snapping and was giving me error message I removed the battery and put it back and it came up quickly and trackpad was scrolling. I noticed it was scrollin but I did not scroll it much after about 12mins I decided to check and it was still scrolling but when I continued to use it,it just stopped in about 1min.

I finally fixed it after reinstalling the OS a couple times but now I've noticed the 'clicking' function of the trackpad is not working. When I press it down nothing happens. I can still scroll no problem but pressing it down does nothing.I've reinstalled the OS a couple times again and the problem still persists. Any ideas on how to fix it? View 1 Replies View Relatedivehad my curve 8520 for a while now, and a couple months ago the trackpad froze for a couple minutes... I didn't think anything of it because it started working again... That's continued happening, getting more and more frequent and now sometimes I have to restart my phone two or three times for it to work... Everything else on my phone works even when the trackpad is frozen I just have to find another way to get to whatevr it is that I am trying to do. I can't scroll up or down or side to side but I have found out a way to munipulate my way through options and different menus and hotkeys..

So I tried to upgrade my OS from 4 to 5. It was successful but I wasn't able to scroll down to press the OK button. After a couple of hours trying to scroll down, I pressed the OK button. But my trackpad and keyboard is not functioning well because when I pressed the home button my BB is not showing the home screen, instead it shows me my phonebook.

The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. The trackpad works correctly in all other places except opening a link online. Is there a trackpad setting that I may have turned off by mistake?

I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

The phone is working normally, I can receive text, calls, bbms, etc. However, I cannot just view and answer. I tried to update my OS, put a paper over the battery to tighten, I have removed the battery pack and replace a million times, tried to re-charge, removed sim and memory card and re-place but none of these tricks seem to work. I am hesitant to open it up because it will void the warranty.

I have a Curve 9300 with OS 6. I cannot return the device to the original retailer (out of warranty).This is kind of what happens.
1.)Trackpad stops scrolling after backlight switches back on. After waiting 10 seconds it works ok
2.) After an hour or so the trackpad stops scrolling entirely. The "push button" of trackpad still works though.
3.) I hard reset the device. Trackpad stops working entirely (doesnt scroll and pushing it as a button does not work either)
4.) I send phone in for repairs.
5.) If it works after "cleaning and reseating trackpad" my phone works fine for a few days. Then problem starts all over again.
6.)If cleaning does not work, they replace my trackpad. This usually works for a few weeks to a month. Then the problem starts all over again?I am getting sick of having the phone getting sent in for the trackpad to just be replaced again and again.
yesterday my colleague brought blackberry 8520, i was exited about optical trackpad. but i am shocked that sensitivity is very bad even after the make it to highest one. i am planning to buy bb9700 in near future. does BB9700 even have same useless trackpad.

I'm having trouble using the trackpad to scroll up, even in the menu, it keeps wanting to scroll down. I've tried taking the battery out and back in, I'm not sure what else to try.

When i scrol down through emails the body of the message disappears and the screen changes to a check pattern. if I scroll backup the text reappears. This only seems to happen on emails - not in a browser or any other app where I scroll through content.
