Jun 12, 2012Using PC Companion I have progressed to what I can only assume is the end of the preparation phase after 3 hours, the progress bar is complete; and then I get this meaningless message that the update failed.
This is very frustratiing as there is not much clue about what caused the failure. If it is because of a missing component, as pointed out already, why can PC Companion not check at the start of the marathon preparation that everything is in place and we will not waste so much time connected for nothing.
I have tried SUS and that fails because Windows can't find S1Boot with that remarkably phone procedure. I have looked at downloading S1Boot, as suggested, however then there are warnings on Warranty. Does PC Compantion/SUS download not contain S1Boot?

Aug 8, 2011When connecting my Storm 2 to my laptop it is requesting my password 3 times. When I first started using it, it only requested my password 1 or 2 times. Once if the handset was already unlocked and twice if it is locked. It is not the Desktop manager that is the issue but the Blackberry device manager.Is there a way to stop the device manager requesting the password as it is annoying. This doesn't happen often, but often enough that I have to do a soft reset several times to correct the problem. Even then, it's still not 100% responsive. Jul 18, 2010I tried to restore my 3Gs. It was jailbroken on 3.1.3. The restore failed. I tried using tiny umbrella and RecBoot and it still said i could only restore and upgrade, so i decided after trying that a bunch of times to just do the manual reset from within the settings on the phone. It was on the apple logo with the spinnging thing for like an hour, and now its just stuck on the apple logo. I put it into DFU and tried exiting DFU (like i did earlier) using recboot but now it just wont leave the apple logo.
