Jun 12, 2012Using PC Companion I have progressed to what I can only assume is the end of the preparation phase after 3 hours, the progress bar is complete; and then I get this meaningless message that the update failed.
This is very frustratiing as there is not much clue about what caused the failure. If it is because of a missing component, as pointed out already, why can PC Companion not check at the start of the marathon preparation that everything is in place and we will not waste so much time connected for nothing.
I have tried SUS and that fails because Windows can't find S1Boot with that remarkably phone procedure. I have looked at downloading S1Boot, as suggested, however then there are warnings on Warranty. Does PC Compantion/SUS download not contain S1Boot?

Jan 14, 2010Nokia have finally updated 5800 FW but i am unable to download it because the NSU isn't working correctly. Everytime I open the program I get the message; "Nokia Software Updater has attempted to connect to the internet but has failed three times. This could be because of a poor-quality, slow or intermittent internet connection, or restrictions due to a firewall.
If requested by your firewall, Nokia Software Updater needs the following applications to gain access to the internet:
nsl_host_process.exe
nsu_u_clienti.exe" The program will then close down.
I have a good, steady internet connection (10mb) and all firewalls are off.

Dec 10, 2010I would like to know if there is a way to avoid calendar appointment times changing when the time zone automatically updates. I would book theatre tickets in New York at 8pm and put that in my calendar. When my BB Curve updates the time to New York time from South African time, all my appointments also change by the 7 hour difference.
Is there a way of keeping the calendar entries at the entered time when the phone updates it's time zone. This also happens when updating the time manually on the phone.

Jul 15, 2010I have very good bandwidth at home and can usually download HD iTunes movies fairly quickly. When I try to download the 580 MB 4.0.1 update it fluctuates between 5-8 hours and takes over several minutes just to get to 1 MB. Are the servers overloaded?

I installed it successfully and tried downloading 5 songs. All of them failed to download after completing 1 MB. I don't know the reason but it has deducted 5 songs from my voucher pack.
