View 3 RepliesThe e-mail Icons on my BB used to be an envelope with a red asterisk if there was new mail. When you read the mail, the asterisk went away. All of a sudden, the envelope is outlined in red and there is a smaller red envelope where the asterick used to be. Even after I read the new emails, the smaller red envelope stays red.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the s2, and i have 4 email accounts (2 work, 1 hotmail, 1 gmail). I have them configured and working, but they are all under the standard mail app (white envelop with blue @). When I get a new message, this icon will show how many unread messages there are. But, it shows for all of my accounts. I'm trying to have separate apps/icons for each email address that'll show some type of "unread messages" notification on the icon itself. Came from a blackberry and i had 4 individual accounts setup, each would have a red star if there was an unread msg in that account. I tried the hotmail and the gmail apps but they don't seem to show anything like this either.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhy does the gmail app icon always show 99+ and the email icon always shows 30 emails even after I clean up my mailboxes and know for sure that I have 0 unread emails? Is there a fix for this? When I was on ios as soon as I had all emails read the counts from the app icons used to disappear.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had two Blackberry, but I'm new to the community. I traded my Pearl for the Curve 8330 a couple of days ago. The new message icon is constantly showing up. It started with three, then four, and now six. I have read several forums and have tried pulling my battery several times. I have even deleted my e-mail account and set it up again. I have gone into all my folders to see if there is a message hiding somewhere. I can't find anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Aside from doing a factory restore and/or calling Verizon does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reset the counter? By the way, my carrier is Verizon!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a relatively new Smartphone user and am still getting used to my 8530 Curve. Over the last couple of days whenever I go to do anything on my phone (check facebook, check email, switch to another application, etc) I get this little black clock in the middle of my screen and it's like everything freezes for a few seconds. What is this and what does it mean?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8530 and downloaded the FB upgrade last week. I cannot stop the notifications icon from showing up on my homepage. I have gone through the options and removed the checks from the boxes for:
Blackberry Calendar Application
Blackberry Messages Application
Blackberry Contacts Application
Facebook Notifications
And I have turned off the Email Notifications.I have pulled the battery, rebooted, deleted the application, reinstalled the application....nothing keeps me from being notified about notifications.
The facebook icon is not appearing on the home screen. I have deleted the facebook app, downloaded it again, removed the battery, resent service books, re-registered my Blackberry. Nothing works.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI used a Storm for the last 30 days, and had 3 distinct and separate icons:
Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have several email folders on my blackberry. When I recieve an email it only shows up on the "messages" folder. My previous BB would show the new mail indicator in both "Messages" folder and the specific email folder it belonged in. If I go to the specific folder, the email is inside, it just will not alert me to this folder.Hope this makes sense.Currently I have 4 specific email folders, a text folder, and a messages folder.
How can I fix this? I have an 8310 that was just replaced by another 8310 thru insurance coverage.
i'vehad the "new email" icon at the top of my screen for a good few weeks now, deleted all my emails from both accounts, checked on my laptop not even any "junk" mail, deleted all my bbms, whatsapps and text messages. Its not a messag from app world or anything, its the icon for a new email. its doing my head in!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently had a problem with my Blackberry 8520.I appear to have a little email icon with a red star showing on the left handside of the screem (usually where the answerphone message icon usually appears)however, I haven't got any new emails to read. My email boxes do not appear to have a little red star indicating I have new emails. All I have is a little baby icon in the top left hand corner.I have taken the battery and SIM card out of the phone, turned it on and off and still no luck.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I did a battery pull last night, and afterwards I noticed that the icon for my school email folder was different that the normal/stock messages folder (like the folder above it in the picture). I uprgraded to .681 about a week ago, and have done a battery pull since, so is it related to the upgrade?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy company had to wipe my BB and now I do not have the option to 'create or add an email address'. The only option is to 'use a work email account with a BES'. How do I get that option back?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter completing Version 5 upgrade, I don't have an icon on my home screen to send or receive e-mail.
I went into setup and my email account was already there. I ended up deleting it and adding it again. When I did this, I got a messge that a "new icon for this mailbox has been added to the home screen." Went to look and it's still not there. Took out the battery and rebooted. Still not there.
Finally discovered that I could get to my email but accessing SMS/MMS (texting) icon. I sent an e-mail to someone and all my received e-mail that I haven't been able to access was there. This is very cumbersome way of getting to my email and obviously not the way it's suppose to work.
How do I get my email icon added to my home screen?
