added a second email account and after that the email icon on the home page is dark. it is there but it is not lit up like before and the red star for incoming mail does also not light up anymore. the new email account works fine.

Messages - catchall for everything
Desktop email icon
2nd/personal email icon
However, I switched back to the Curve (8530) because of the keyboard, and now I don't have a primary desktop email icon. The only way to view work email is to use the messages icon where everything else goes as well. Is there any way to create or separate the two email accounts so I can view the work email separately?
I have had a notification icon for email on my phone for weeks. I deleted all messages yet its still there. I evenhad my phone replaced for another reason and its on the new phone.

I went into setup and my email account was already there. I ended up deleting it and adding it again. When I did this, I got a messge that a "new icon for this mailbox has been added to the home screen." Went to look and it's still not there. Took out the battery and rebooted. Still not there.
Finally discovered that I could get to my email but accessing SMS/MMS (texting) icon. I sent an e-mail to someone and all my received e-mail that I haven't been able to access was there. This is very cumbersome way of getting to my email and obviously not the way it's suppose to work.

Before to get it back, i go to email setup and delete it then add it back, then AOL icon returns. I am no longer using one of them, so I deleted it using the email account setup application on the device, as well as going online to my Sprint BlackBerry account and deleting it there. The icon is still appearing on my device, and for some reason, is now the default account for sending emails. Since the account has, in fact, been deleted, emails don't actually go through from this account. It's a huge pain to keep remembering to change the account I send emails from. On a side note - I have also changed my settings to use a different account as my default account - it doesn't make a difference. The settings are right when I check them, but when I test them, the old (deleted) account is still the default. What am I missing?? How can I get rid of this account once and for all? I really don't want to wipe my device and start over...

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe e-mail Icons on my BB used to be an envelope with a red asterisk if there was new mail. When you read the mail, the asterisk went away. All of a sudden, the envelope is outlined in red and there is a smaller red envelope where the asterick used to be. Even after I read the new emails, the smaller red envelope stays red.
